The population of Oswestry is 17 thousand where I live in Launceston, Tasmania the population is 70,000 - figures rounded down . Much be nice living in such a beautiful area in a small community that still has all the amenity of larger cities .
@@terenceseymour-tf8rptassie725 Yes and if you look on google maps at the area around it all, it is just small towns and villages for miles on end! Ok up Chirk and Llangollen and you start to get right to the edge of the mountains that then lead all the way to the coast!
@SortOfInteresting lol... All good Dan! Next time I'm back in Llangollen from my home in Japan, I'll treat you to a well deserved tea and scones in the cafe by the bridge!
Yes, that’s just reminded me that I have a little clip to voice over and post as a short… showing where it cuts through the cliff and then tumbles right from the towpath down to a road. The canal skirts so tightly around the contours it’s incredible!
Always enjoy your sojourns into you autumn colours sir. Tomorrow I head out into my fall wilderness for a day amongst my leaves. Hopefully I don't meet last year's cougar on my walkabout 🤣😄🎃 75+🍁 hunter Yorkshire expat
Hi Dan great video, I am visiting the area next week and plan to walk a mile each way alongside the canal. Is the nicest mile from llangolen or from the aquaduct?
That is a really good question! I would be tempted to say the aqueduct as I think there are a few more features around there, small bridges etc. But it is a very close call! I would say also it is worth a trip up to the Horseshoe falls, where the canal itself begins, there is a short walk from there to a really nice old church that is still open freely. (Look up Llantysilio Church.) There are a few curiosities around Llangollen, but I am sure you will stumble on plenty of things just in passing! Enjoy!
Just glorious.A sense of freedom.
The random chaos of falling leaves in their autumnal colours is so beautiful.
Yes, I love the fact you can literally see the colours shift over the course of a few weeks!
This is definitely on my list of places to see, soon.

Brilliant video Dan. What a fantastic area. Nature meets engineering. Looked nice and quiet on that day.

@@SortOfInteresting there's endless footage to be had in your local area. The tourist board should have you as their leading expert in the area!
Would love to see a collection of Poems, Essays, Sketches, Observations and Stories: From Lad to Man, My Life (so far) In Oswestry by Dan Brown : ).

Yes, and they still have a few more shades to go through before winter!
Beautiful!
Yes it’s amazing, any time of year!
Stop it mate! I’m living abroad and your making me homesick, I know this area well being from in between Wrexham and Chester
My apologies! What a great area though!
Whenever we pass llangolen it's always busy 😳
Yes, honestly some of the chaotic summertimes I've seen around here are somewhere between being comedy gold and incredibly painful to watch! 😂

Enjoy! Good grief, and I’m worried about meeting a particularly aggressive goose! 😂
