Out of respect, may I recommend using a cotton flour towel or organic coffee filter. Paper has gotten nasty. It actually grows black mold. Leave some wet in a clean jar and watch. I love ❤your recipe! I’m going to try it.
I know another guy used paper towels over his kombucha and it killed the scoby so something isn’t good in those things for sure! I love muslin cloth. You can clean and reuse over and over :)
I was thinking the same thing. I worked in a toilet paper and paper towel factory. That paper is recycled and filthy (actually gray in color) and we dyed it white.

Yeah that makes perfect sense, I tried adding a little less than that and it was still too sweet for my liking.i tasted the juice before adding sugar and it already tasted sweet enough, so maybe a touch of sugar is all hard necessary

You don't need to water bath jar if you're opening and using it right away. 😊 If you're not going to be using it in your fridge right away or if you're gifting or selling, you might want to get some mason jars and water bath to seal them air tight.
