As an ex drummer, I’ve never felt so much joy in listening to drums then when II is playing, he is outstanding, and will be remembered as one of the greats
Cool that you play drums Patrick. My son is an outstanding drummer. II blows my mind the complicated fills and patterns that he effortlessly plays in the songs. The dude is a beast and most people don’t even know he exists. Crazy.
He’s absurdly talented
This song is so sad. The lyrics are so raw. Well... every Sleep Token song is raw. But this one makes me wish I could have it in my playlist when I was a teen. I was so emo and I would have cried so much listening to them. They're unique. So poetic and tortured.
I totally understand what you are saying. I just happened to listen to Take Me Back to Eden right after my mother passed away the day after Christmas. The piano section followed by him singing about love just really got me and I shed more than a few tears on that one.
I hope you enjoy your first Sleep Token concert!!! I've seen them before many times and they never cease to amaze me, it gets better every time. You'll be so impressed with how Vessel sounds live, and how II absolutely kills it on the drums (of course III and IV are also fire). It's just an experience I can't describe properly with words. This song in particular is absolutely epic live; I heard it at Wembley and the whole crowd screaming 'You make me wish I could disappear' to Vessel gave me goosebumps.
Oh man you are making me wish it was May already. These guys are killing it in all of the songs I’ve done of theirs. They are world class musicians. It will be epic for sure.
They’re amazing live. I hope you have a great time! The last time I saw them the venue was so oversold we were packed in there, but the show itself was spectacular.
I can’t wait to see them. Should be fun. Tickets went fast for the show.
Every venue for them is sold out I live in Arizona they are coming out in April and the tickets were sold out first day they released
@@SFWUxSavage it’s crazy for sure. I feel pretty lucky.
I saw them live for the first time in November and they were amazing. His voice is just as beautiful live as it is on recording.
That is what hooked me. I heard The Summoning and started wondering of he could pull it off live and oh boy does he. Soo good.
My son and I saw them live in May. They are one of the best I’ve heard live. Vessel is so talented. 2 is also.
One of the things I love about ST/Vessel other than their ability to seamlessly blend genres is that they also have a way of drawing out parts of the transitions just that little bit longer than expected or just an abrupt end like at the end of this. I dont know hae many times ive heard this song and still expect at least one final beat at the end to round it out 😂
lol I totally get that Nicole. Always expect the unexpected from them.
You can definitely hear influences from Vessel’s previous project in Sleep Token’s music. Definitely one of the most refreshing bands in recent times. Can’t wait to see them in May!
They are refreshing.
I saw them live in Denver October of last year for my birthday l. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and the best concert over ever been. Soooo good live.
That’s cool for you Bday. I’m going with my son in May. I can’t wait.
That lead singer on this song has totally been blessed with the natural ability to express emotion in his voice. Can it be trained? You probably know best but then there is that natural ability!
I really think what he does is natural. You can train a lot but that extra special thing you have it or not.
@@bobcieslinskiif you listen to their early work on One and Two you can clearly hear his vocal progression and we he transitioned into confidence using his full voice and not limiting himself to falsetto. It’s a fun journey.
@@icandyapple man his voice is incredible. I just started listening to the last album and Atlantic and a few others are off the charts.
@@bobcieslinski Completely agree. He frequently gets so emotional he cries during live shows and *sings through it* which has to take unbelievable breath control. Look up Sleep Token Hallelujah and you’ll see a stunning example of this.
@@icandyapplethanks I will.
How awesome that you'll get to see them! We expect a thorough report, of course!! I don't understand most of the technical stuff, but do love ST. Vessel knows how to get to us. "The Apparition" is another amazing one, though there isn't a bad one in the bunch.
I am so looking forward to the show. I’m addicted to the songs that I’ve done in the channel. Just amazing stuff.
Thank you for showing me this band 😅
No problem, they are amazing.
He has an incredible voice! It’s so smooth and breathy, gorgeous! I would love to hear him sing a ballad. I was a singer in several choirs and briefly in a local band, so I really love hearing such talented voices.
Thanks Sandy nice to hear from you!
I'm going to Pittsburgh too! They didn't have a Detroit date this year, but I'm not missing them for the world. I saw them in September, you're in for a treat! ✨️
So cool Carrie! Maybe we will bump into each other at the at show. I didn’t want to miss them either. They are too good. I was worried when the tickets went on sale though. The code didn’t arrive in time. Luckily I had a friend who got his and he shared it.
@bobcieslinski Yeah, I was 30 minutes late from when the pre-sale tickets went up, but somehow still managed to get 2 pit tickets! If I see you I'll definitely say hi! 😄 thank you for the amazing reactions. As a band teacher, dude. Come on. You HAVE to react to Jaws and The Offering. Jaws is like a masterclass in drum writing, and The Offering is so gorgeous, and it's often/usually the closing song at their shows! I look forward to more ST reactions ☺️✨️
I tried to get tickets to the Atlanta show but that's a small venue and they sold out quick. Bummed I googled how far I was from Tampa. My absolute line i would not cross was more than 6 hrs away I'd give up..
🙌 Thank God....just under 6 hrs from where I live.....so, got tickets and am going with my husband, daughter and nephew to Tampa FL to see them. I'm stoked. I've watched every bit of concert footage I could see of them and am so stoked to be able to get to see them! I know it's going to change my life! Hell, they already have changed it! 😂
Worship
ST is my favorite “new to me” band (Pink Floyd all time favorite). This song is by far my favorite ST song. I tried snagging tix for my daughter and me but they sold out within 2 minutes each day they were on sale. Artist presale (had code), presale, and regular sale. Best I could do was 1,105th in the queue between the 3 days. We are both incredibly bummed that we won’t see them live.
You mentioned II, the drummer……he did an interview on Drumeo. If you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely worth watching.
Vessel’s voice is just captivating and mesmerizing. Another thing, many ST fans know his name (I do and it was a spoiler I saw. I did NOT search for it). However, most of us that know their names won’t reveal them because we respect the bands wish for anonymity.
Great reaction btw! I was a pianist and violinist in my younger years. My middle kid is an incredibly talented Saxophonist. I say this because I love watching reactions from folks like you who are musically trained. Definitely been subbed! Thank you. Not sure if you are in Pgh or it was closest venue to you but I was born and raised in Pgh. I don’t live there anymore but sure do miss my beautiful city!
People: what genre is Sleep Token? Me: Sleep Token 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks so much for the kind words and awesome info. Sorry you didn’t get tickets. My son and I missed out the last time they toured. They didn’t come close to us but sold out so quick. I almost didn’t get tickets this time. The code for the presale came 2 days late. Luckily my friend got thr code and shared it with me. That’s awesome you played instruments and your middle kid is a great saxophonist. I play sax too. Violin and piano are not the easiest of instruments so good for you. I am from this area born and raised. I actually love about 40 minutes northeast of the city. Very rural here but excellent music programs in the schools. The hanks for subbing and I hope to hear from you again.
@@bobcieslinski thank you for responding! I’m in StLouis now and the band program at my kids’ high school is phenomenal. My saxophonist son is now almost 22 but still takes lessons. Our band director has really taken the program to new heights since he was hired. Please don’t take offense but I’m too lazy right now to look through your reaction videos but if you haven’t come across a RUclipsr named Dan Vasc, please check him out. He has well over 200 covers and is phenomenal. He is from Brazil and was classically trained. He’s also the singer in a metal band named Fearless. But the incredible thing about Dan is he can sing anything from opera to broadway to metal. His Nessun Dorma by Puccini is phenomenal. As are his covers of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar and Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera. He recently dropped a metal version of Celine Dion’s hit from Titanic (sorry but can’t remember the name at the moment). Dan is nearing 1Million subscribers.
Thanks again for your reply; it is very much appreciated.
Eternal ascension = leaving this earth to escape the hurt…… it’s fucking sad 😢
Saw them in Dallas last September…amazing show. Going to see them again in May. Cannot wait.
I can’t wait too. They are amazing.
😱 every time this picture comes up on my screen 😁
LOL
Also seeing them in May in Atl. Most hyped show for me in over a decade
Gonna be awesome!
Yay I'll be seeing em on Pittsburgh too! But I'm coming from myrtle beach, get ready for the best show of your life!
Wow that’s along way Tiffany! You really are making me get excited for this show. I can’t wait!
Just got tickets for November in the U.K. and will be my fifth show, 4th tour! I’m so happy you’re getting to see them. They’re even better live with Espera as backing vocals and their stage presence is just so glorious!
Awesome you’ve seen them that many times. You are making me even more excited for the show. I can’t wait. The songs I’ve heard which is about 7 now all blow me away.
I'm supposed to be seeing them in April! ❤
Cool I’m seeing them in May and I can’t wait.
If it wasnt for his privacy reasons I would ABSOLUTELY recommend u checking out the stuff (there's live footage as well) from the project he did before he became Vessel. MAYBE (I am sure u are aware of it by now and know what I am talking about) you can check it out on your own outside of RUclips just to get more context into his artistic upbringing.
Thanks!
Love your reactions my friend. I've noticed no one has commented this but here is a quote from Vessel's only interview back in 2017 when the band formed, “Life is dark. Life is bright. Life is ugly. Life is beautiful. Don’t get lost in genres, they’ll only disorientate you. Music is for everyone.” I absolutely love it and feel like I've seen and heard that vision played out as they've released more and more music. I'm seeing them live for the first time in Phoenix this April!
Hey Devon. Thanks so much, I appreciate it. That unit is awesome. Enjoy the show I’m looking forward to the one in Pittsburgh.
I love your reactions and analyses! I am seeing them in May in Ohio (Sonic Temple).
Can’t wait for more! Particularly Euclid!
Thanks so much Star! I appreciate the kind words. Enjoy the show. I’ve heard of that place but I’ve never been there.
Got tickets to sonic temple too, just for them... travelling from the UK! Insanely excited 🤘
@@adam-cr5htsweet! My first time to Sonic Temple! Gonna be a blast! And yes they were my primary reason for going!
I'll be attending the May concert in STL. Saw them at a festival last year and it was great but short. Ready for the full experience this year!
Have fun.
i was lucky enough to also score a ticket for Pittsburgh! See you guys there! WORPHIP.
Noice
I'm going to their Atlanta show this May as well! Super excited to get my first experience live with them. You should just go ahead and go down the rabbithole, discovering their lore was really interesting to learn about.
Thanks and I hope you enjoy the show. I can’t wait to see them in May.
Love your analysis and reaction to Sleep Token! I suggest listening to Jamie Turtons added orchestra versions of their songs! You may enjoy them! Especially as a band teacher!
Thanks I appreciate the kind words. I’ll have to check that out.
Pittsburgher here. I have seen them twice. Amazing.
Hey TJ! Nice to hear from a fellow Pittsburgher. I can’t wait for this show. It’s gonna be epic.
You got tickets for their show here? Lucky as hell 😂 Me and my sister tried but failed, we did get to see them last year although we had to make the 4 hour drive to Detroit to see them
I almost didn’t get the tickets. The code came a few days late. Luckily a friend of mine sent me his code and I was able to get in on the presale and get them. Totally glad because my son and I would have been disappointed for sure. Sorry you didn’t get yours.
The other thing I love about this group is they reach everyone. I'm in my 40s, I. Love them my kids love them, and my father who plays guitar loves them. Everyone can appreciate them.
Great point and so true. That says something about them too that they can appeal to such a diverse age group. Thats unique.
I'll see you at Pittsburgh!!! I'm going too! Super exciting. It'll be my 6th time seeing them 🥰
Wow that’s awesome that you’ve seen them 6 times. I’m excited should be fun.
@@bobcieslinski I'm excited for you to see them! Easily one of the best shows I've been to. They're amazing performers.
For the drums - Hypnosis - from their Tomb album.
These guys are my favorites right now. Nothing like them.
I would also recommend listening to their older stuff. The first song they ever made is called fields of elation. His falsetto live is insane.
Thanks I’ll check it out.
Hey, I'm taking my son to the Pittsburgh show too! Along with a friend and his brother. This is my favorite track from Take Me Back to Eden. So much emotion, amazing song structure, the piano is beautiful, and it builds up to an incredible ending. I can't wait to see this live.
Also, they use baritone guitars so they can downtune like crazy.
So cool you got tickets and you are taking your son too. This is an awesome song. Everyone of their songs that I do in the channel becomes a new favorite of mine. My list has about 7 songs in it now and each one is so good. I don’t think I’m going to get to all of thr songs on the album quick enough before the show so there will be a few surprises left for me when I go. Maybe we bump into each other at the show. Take care!
@@bobcieslinski you should go through their whole catalog when you can. Even if you don't react to everything, at least listen to it all. Totally worth it. We are driving from 7+ hours away for the show, but I wasn't going to miss another chance to see them after waiting four years. We'll be in the seats, so hopefully it won't be crowded there.
It’s serpentine. The flow is something unique and incredible.
I am so jealous. I tried SO HARD to get tix to Boston but had no luck 😭 Enjoy the show!
Sorry to hear it. We missed out the last time they toured. They are so popular it’s crazy how hard it is to get tickets.
Really strange suggestion maybe you’d be interested in reacting to Moglii, like you in linen and like every other song 😂❤️ also absolutely love sleep token jealous you live within their current concert range 🤩
Thanks usually I’m outside of most concerts but this one I got lucky.
Great review for an extremely talented band ❤
Thanks Louise!
Ok, I found Vessel's voice to work quite well with this song, although at times it was soft enough I had trouble discerning the lyrics (but since I'm not that concerned with lyrics that is actually ok). I thought it was a bit long without a more significant tempo change, so the last few minutes were a little repetitive. Honestly I was waiting for a pounding drum and bass fill with some screaming guitar lead for about 20-30 seconds just to not only change the tempo, but tighten up the overall feeling of the song, bringing that haunting initial melody back with the more generous chord work that was done. Seven minutes at a slower pace can feel long. But overall it was a cool song, another introduction to their sound!
Great comments Guy! Yeah those things could have worked for sure. These guys are something. They are blowing up right now. Concerts sell out quickly too.
Yeah I’m glad you and your son will have a great time! Now it’s just wait time lol
@@guygourley2411 yep. It was rough getting tickets. We were supposed to get an early access code and there was an issue where people did not receive it. We were one of those that did not. Luckily a friend of mine got his and shared it.
Sweet! With just about everything online now, one little mishap can really mess things up! Weather should be quite nice then too!
I'm going to the Pittsburgh show too! Hope to see you there!
Should be a good time. Maybe we will bump into each other.
I have heard the piano part of this song compared to Moonlight Sonata, the melancholy, triplet pattern. ii, the drummer and his diddles are insane! They are an insanely talented group. Vessel is a very accomplished Jazz pianist. Good stuff. From one music teacher to another, nice to see. Thanks for the video. :)
Hey nice to hear from a fellow music teacher. Yeah you can tell what you have here with these guys. Just insanely talented.
@@bobcieslinski for sure. So many people get tripped up on time signatures with them. I think, usually, the time signature is simple, it's just the way ii plays his fills and hits, it makes it seem more complex. No doubt his fills are insane. No way I could play the patterns he's playing, just saying.
@@andrewyork7776 thanks Andrew. Yeah I think he is insane with what he is playing in their music. I think he is under appreciated.
I'll be at Pittsburgh too!! Yay!
Nice maybe we bump into each other.
I love this song so much i got a tattoo of it representing the "diamonds in the trees, pentagrams in the night sky" line 😊
Btw I'm going to the Pittsburgh show too! Really looking forward to it
Tattoo sounds cool. Awesome you will be at the show. I’m looking forward to it. Maybe we will bump into each other.
I will also be at the Pittsburgh show!
Cool maybe we bump into each other. I’m pretty excited about it.
If you really want to know who the singer is that knowledge is out there. I obviously won't tell you where to find it but if you look hard enough it's there. You'll find a bunch of extra content from him when you figure it out
I decided not to look. The mystery here is awesome. I just saw them live and they are some of the best musicians around. Vessel and 2 are just mind blowing.
I’ll be at the Pittsburgh show section 101
Sweet! It’s gonna be awesome! I can’t wait.
@@bobcieslinski me too
Please do new magic wand
Your reactions are great, and I would love to see your reaction to Babymetal. I would suggest "Headbanger", but make sure it is the legend of 97 live performance.
Thanks I’ll add that to the list.
You can already find out who he is, but maybe you should consider this - they WANT to stay anonymous and went to great lengths because of that, perhaps we should respect that.
I don’t want to know until they come out and let us know. Which would be cool if they did eventually.
HYPE
You look like you'd sport some facial hair well
Thanks maybe.
Do not start commenting on Filipino singers singing anything. Anything or any Filipino singer. Believe me, do not start. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤷♂️
The best music is worshp music for the God of Israel.
🤷♂️
What are you talking about, this music has nothing to do with your so called "god", if you knew anything about ST you would know the band was started when Vessel encountered the ancient deity known as Sleep in a dream/vision and they promised glory and magnificence if Vessel followed them. Stop trying to push your religious "beliefs" on other people.
Bro...bro, you need to let it breathe a little. I get you're trying to react, but you stop it WAY to much. Give it a little more time then react. My only critique.
When do you teach your students this? Good luck lol.
Thanks I got carried away in this one. When I saw how many minutes it was I was like oh boy what did I do. 😂
Disagree. We're watching this to get your thoughts, not listen to the song. We've done that 100x already. Plus, you do the very important step of rewinding a few seconds after each pause to get the momentum back. There are so many details and intricacies that you might notice but would be difficult to keep track of by the time you got to the end of any song, let alone a 7 minute one.
I say keep doing your thing 🤘
Hi Bob, your second name is polish, isn't...?
Never mind, i just ask beacuse im from Poland...🤗
I like your auditions. Maybe next time Clödie...?! Awesome voice, something like Suzie Quattro. Check this out. Greeting from Poland...:)))
Nice to hear from Poland. Yes I am Polish.
