One thing i hoped that they have highlighted more is the significance of Ramadhan. While Ramadhan is a month to help us strengthen our faith through our worships and self reflection, there’s also a lot more to it. The fasting aspect is actually meant to put us in the shoes of those who does not have the privilege of eating three meals a day, let alone one meal sometimes. We are also encouraged to increase in doing good deeds and one of the best way to do it is by donating. That’s why we have zakat which is a form of obligatory donation to the needy. Really appreciate the effort made by the three of them to go through it and to those berating them here, why not feedback nicely to them instead of leaving mean comments. It is the month of Ramadhan after all 😊. (To my fellow muslims, do correct me if i said anything wrong or missed out on anything.)
Selamat Hari Raya my fellow muslim brother! Just wanted to provide a small correction: it is a misconception among many Muslims and non-muslims here in Singapore that one reason for fasting is to 'put us in the shoes of the poor', when in fact, it's not even one of the reasons. The primary (and most say only) reason for fasting, to put it simply for our non-muslim friends, is spiritual realignment. Via the removal of the need to satisfy our tummies, we also inadvertently train our spiritual discipline by abstaining from sins and doing good deeds (as we will be conscious of the fact that we are continually doing something of a spiritual nature, that is, fasting, so it's kind of paiseh to do bad stuff, to put it in a non-religious way). This training is intended to extend to our normal life beyond Ramadan. An interesting thing to realize is that abstaining from food and drink is the easy part (though props to the cast for putting in a good effort! not easy for first-timers, even among us Muslims). The hard part is abstaining from bad deeds, which a lot of people, including myself, are guilty of, and which we should strive to avoid. As you mentioned correctly, of course, the poor are involved in Ramadan in the sense that we ought to donate more during this time, feed them, etc. But it is not mentioned anywhere in Islam that Ramadan is partially to understand what the poor live like. I think that's a cultural misconception, more than anything, as the other majority Muslim cultures I have experienced do not have this misconception. Hope you have a great Hari Raya and stay safe!

For us Muslims, if we missed the predawn meal we just sucked it up and fast. Like literally I feel like going for a hunger strike for the day. Though I got angry for not waking up to eat my predawn meal. Cause it is a blessed thing to eat predawn meal. But tbh fasting in Singapore=More Thirsty When I was fasting in Melbourne during winter=More hungry. Like it was so bad stomach was rumbling away in class. Hahaha
To the people leaving mean comments, you as viewers were slightly inconvenienced but please remember that your hateful words can leave a deeper mark. Why don’t you leave a constructive feedback instead.
Imagine watching a video, educating everyone about what Ramadan is and how we should be kinder/conscious about our thoughts and words... But the comments makes it seem like nobody learned anything 🙃
so everyone is busy saying at 16:00 its pretty bright outside when chow is done cooking. but no one has brought up 3:46 where it also looks pretty bright outside when hafeez is eating.
Great video! Actually how do Muslims who work in more laborious tasks where they sweat more tahan 14 hours without water? Is it rly mind over matter? If halfway through work gonna die of thirst is it excusable to drink a bit?
In conditions where your health is at risk you can break your fast, drink water and have a meal. But that doesn’t not mean you can drink some water when you feel tired and continue fasting the rest of the day. Instead, you can replace your fast on another day when you are feeling better ☺️
I think Chow did her best anyways. If we look at it, she actually highlighted the meaning of Ramadan like empathy which some commenters were looking for. Much respect for our brothers and sisters!
Yes, but hope our viewers can understand that ads are what makes running this channel possible in the first place. Without funding we wouldn't be able to create any content for our viewers.
Firstly I really want to give a shoutout to the Eatbook team for producing this fasting episode in the spirit of Ramadan. I think we can all agree that fasting for one month is not an easy thing to do and it takes a lot of determination both physically and mentally to get through one day without any consumption of food and beverages. Though I have to mention that Chow did sort of cheat during the three day challenge by having hot pot, she persevered through just like Jerald and Sangee did especially on days where she has shoots and manages to catch only a few hours of sleep yet she still pull through likewise to Jerald and Sangee. More commendable to her is that she made the extra effort to research, understand and explain to the viewers on the purpose and rational of why Muslim fast yearly during the holy month of Ramadan. With little hours of sleep and attempting this challenge and making the effort to research on the purpose of fasting, I feel that we should give her credit where credits due. Thank you to the Eatbook team for producing such informative episode. It allows our non-Muslim viewers to have a brighter perspective of how and why Muslim fast yearly during the holy month of Ramadan. Perhaps the team may consider producing episodes that features all our ethnic groups in SG because I feel viewers may have questions to ask and there are definitely myths and misconceptions to be debunked so that viewers have a clearer idea what are the practices each ethnic group practice, the dos and don’ts etc. Lastly, as I’m typing and today is the eve of Hari Raya and the last day of fasting for our Muslim friends, here’s wishing all our Muslim friends a blessed Hari Raya! May peace, joy, laughter and happiness surround you and your family! Stay safe! ☺️💫🤘🏻
I think everyone shouldn't be so harsh on Chow... she only cheated once on the first day and it was by accident (also she said that she was very tired from the past few days) Edit: it's true that Chow did cheat but 1. She bothered to ask Hafeez 2. Hafeez was ok with it (I doubt she would have cheated if he said no) 3. She still followed the Ramadan timing for meals
I'm actually more irritated that she also called hafeez to cheat! Oversleeping is understandable, but asking for permission to cheat is just... Really not in the spirit of 72 hours challenges.
@@spectrumvoid she didnt call him to cheat, would you rather chow not to call hafeez to check, or call hafeez to check whether if she is able to eat food together with her friends when she break fast?
haha it looked like hafeez was trying to disturb chow with his fingers behind her and she was asking him to stop but not sure if his arm is actually long enough to reach her 😅
Chow think she puts in enough effort. Maybe she should try harder. Not once but every single time, every single challenge, she don’t even take the challenges seriously.
I think its incredibly harsh for you all to criticize Chow. I believe the only thing was she woke up late on the first day. And if you really watch the video and listened, you will hear that she has been waking up at 1am for work days prior to that first day of the challenge. Also, the challenge was to try Hafeez's diet and the main point being to fast, never was it really to follow exactly. It wasn't like Chow ate totally different, she just asked to eat something additional Lastly, Chow was the only one who bothered to find out and explain more about why Muslims fast, and gave meaning to the whole challenge. Thank you Chow for explaining more details, and keep up your good work!
Today is the last day of fasting and i should have stocked up the Marigold! On a side note, this year's break fast timing is wayy faster as compared to previous years.
When the comment sectiom thinks they know Chow better than herself. So much so that they could make such comments about her. Nobody knows how busy she could be, plus waking up that early is a challenge for most people as well. At its root, this challenge is meant for non-muslims to understand the core values of how and why muslims fast. And I'm sure did do her best.
There're so many comments saying Chow didn't put in effort in this ep... tbh im okay with her, in challenge yes sometimes theres loopholes and cheats here and there Haha, but i do agree that maybe once in awhile can see new talent, but give her a break guyss, dont banish her from eatbook challenge haha, i dont mind seeing her again but maybe once in awhile can change or alternate the talents. Love eatbook eps as alwaysss ❤❤❤
It's not a challenge if it literally does not "challenge" you. If no one has the decency to construct proper criticism on how she takes these challenges, then your criticism will never be taken seriously and in turn only hurt Chow. If you wish for your comments to be heard, at least make sure it's something you'd be willing to receive from others. Even the top says to be respectful and follow community guidelines.
Fasting is not easy, but Chow you did your best! Don't let those haters bring you down, you got those people who are encouraging and supportive, behind you 😊
Looking at the hate comments and at the actual video- let’s admit that we’ll never know the full extent of everyone’s effort, we only see how it translates out in the content, at the final cut. The main purpose of a talent (at least in my understanding) is to create relatability to the target audience and also spread awareness on the chosen topic in the video.. Both Sangee and Jerald seem to excel at the brief of the video, the audience’s comments reflect happiness and some amusement from the entertainment. Unfortunately during this shoot, Chow had an abnormally busy schedule and needed the rest... I’m sure with ample rest she’d been able to do more lah... So... please take care of yourselves and let’s all be reminded to be kind to one another. Regardless of what the video looks like, everyone needs a break (from each other lol). Let’s stop tearing each other down and do better. :-)
@carissa tan IKR?! chow's timing during that week was crazy.. it was early morning shoot, and at the side she have to do 72 hr challenge, and not all human people bodies are the same to be able tahan. 1 might be able to go 72hrs without sleep and not fall sick but not others.
@@ameame8 don’t exaggerate to get a point across haha, doesn’t sound logical. I’m guessing either it was poor planning of her schedule or an underestimation of the effort really needed for fasting. Like I said, everyone needs to do better.

@@kimjoshua3519in my opinion, I am ok with chow but I definitely like other talents like mandon, I just not a fan of chow lah
Count how many times they say Marigold Milk w Malt
what I've learned in this whole video is to buy the marigold hl milk. they are just promoting the milk tbh
new drinking game
Sangee is soo cute tho I love her
Jerald is sooooo cute with his burnt pancakes😍😍😍
to be honest, i’m a muslim & i really do be eating whatever i want during sahur. there’s really no restrictions. my mom would cook fried chicken, kimchi soup, or eve ayam lemak with rice in the morning 😂
Im so chill one and since you made the effort to call me, my answer is NO LMAOO
what I've learned in this whole video is to buy the marigold hl milk. they are just promoting the milk tbh
For us Muslims, if we missed the predawn meal we just sucked it up and fast. Like literally I feel like going for a hunger strike for the day. Though I got angry for not waking up to eat my predawn meal. Cause it is a blessed thing to eat predawn meal.
But tbh fasting in Singapore=More Thirsty
When I was fasting in Melbourne during winter=More hungry.
Like it was so bad stomach was rumbling away in class. Hahaha
I think can still afford to mention more about the marigold malt milk.
This is definitely a marigold ad
To the people leaving mean comments, you as viewers were slightly inconvenienced but please remember that your hateful words can leave a deeper mark. Why don’t you leave a constructive feedback instead.
Imagine watching a video, educating everyone about what Ramadan is and how we should be kinder/conscious about our thoughts and words...
But the comments makes it seem like nobody learned anything 🙃
Sangees camera is clear af
Jereld: menonel🤣😅
Lol. Let's play a game of 'find the hidden ad placement.'
There isn't a challenge that chow doesn't cheat.
Eating breads for 24hrs PLS!! Like breads from swee heng, breadtalk, four leaves etc. Show off their breadss hehe PLEASEEEE
Eww swee heng
they alr did it before
@@reehannahh6542 24hrs eating bakeries bakes?🥺
so everyone is busy saying at 16:00 its pretty bright outside when chow is done cooking. but no one has brought up 3:46 where it also looks pretty bright outside when hafeez is eating.
He does say last night...
Can we have more of sangee pls
Sangee so preettyyyy~
I love Sangee!!!!! Managed to stay so bubbly despite fasting :)
Interesting challenge! Enjoyed the different perspectives of these talents.
i really enjoy watching sangee ☺️
I think Chow did her best anyways. If we look at it, she actually highlighted the meaning of Ramadan like empathy which some commenters were looking for. Much respect for our brothers and sisters!
more of gerald and hafiz bromance
enjoyed this ! thanks for the video rly informative and learnt alot
i love the way they do product placements on here
Milk with malt = Horlicks isn't it?
Fake ah this vid. Where got the the sky soo bright at 5
chow again
so it only takes 1 min to wake up, prep food, eat and take that shot at the 16-min mark? Duhhhh think please
Shen Lim what u talking
@@shenlim7888 ????
The marigold ad throughout the vid is super annoying
Yes, but hope our viewers can understand that ads are what makes running this channel possible in the first place. Without funding we wouldn't be able to create any content for our viewers.
Is chow even trying?
Love Sangee’s energy, and Jerald + Hafeez Bromance! :) Chow is so pretty!
Very informative. Love this
Firstly I really want to give a shoutout to the Eatbook team for producing this fasting episode in the spirit of Ramadan.
Stay safe! ☺️💫🤘🏻
I think everyone shouldn't be so harsh on Chow... she only cheated once on the first day and it was by accident (also she said that she was very tired from the past few days)
Edit: it's true that Chow did cheat but 1. She bothered to ask Hafeez
2. Hafeez was ok with it (I doubt she would have cheated if he said no)
3. She still followed the Ramadan timing for meals
I'm actually more irritated that she also called hafeez to cheat! Oversleeping is understandable, but asking for permission to cheat is just... Really not in the spirit of 72 hours challenges.
And she cheated on the third day breakfast. Look at the bright sky behind her. That can’t be 5.30am LOL
Yes because she's the only one that's tired. lul
yeah the world revolves around her...
@@spectrumvoid she didnt call him to cheat, would you rather chow not to call hafeez to check, or call hafeez to check whether if she is able to eat food together with her friends when she break fast?
did nobody else see the eye contact exchange btwn hafeez and chow at arnd 0.56 to 0.59? what's going on?
i saw that and i was just about to look for a comment like this!
haha it looked like hafeez was trying to disturb chow with his fingers behind her and she was asking him to stop but not sure if his arm is actually long enough to reach her 😅
HAHAHAH YES FINALLY AT THE END OF RAMADAN THEY RELEASE THIS VIDD
Btw y’all need to chill on hating Chow. She’s not used to it. I know how she is feeling cuz I’m fasting too...
How do you think our talents did?
great actually
great except chow
Chow think she puts in enough effort. Maybe she should try harder. Not once but every single time, every single challenge, she don’t even take the challenges seriously.
I think its incredibly harsh for you all to criticize Chow. I believe the only thing was she woke up late on the first day. And if you really watch the video and listened, you will hear that she has been waking up at 1am for work days prior to that first day of the challenge. Also, the challenge was to try Hafeez's diet and the main point being to fast, never was it really to follow exactly. It wasn't like Chow ate totally different, she just asked to eat something additional
Lastly, Chow was the only one who bothered to find out and explain more about why Muslims fast, and gave meaning to the whole challenge.
Thank you Chow for explaining more details, and keep up your good work!
@@damienlee927 true. people need to chill abit
jereld got such a cute smile omg 😭😭
we need more sangee in videos!
Jereld 🤜🤛 Hafeez
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 lul
regardless of how chow did, we should still respect her since she made a conscious effort and attempted to follow the diet :)
Loving this cultural exchange!!!
Don't forget your Marigold Milk with MALT!!!
72 hours of food and drinks from starbucks!! must put leah because she's always drinking from them!
Leah and Sew is a must to put in for 72 hours Starbucks~
Fasting is not easy, but Chow you did your best! Don't let those haters bring you down, you got those people who are encouraging and supportive, behind you 😊
eatbook pls stop casting chow bc there's no point casting someone that keeps cheating in these challenges and only gives subpar effort.
It’s the fun of it and try it ur self this challenge u probably do the same
mav: think of hafeez
jerald: don’t need to ask me, I always think about hafeez 😂
#jeez
@@kimjoshua3519 I guess she had a gun pointed at her to take up the challenge knowing she wouldnt be able to do it. Poor Chow indeed.
@@ameame8 don’t exaggerate to get a point across haha, doesn’t sound logical.
I’m guessing either it was poor planning of her schedule or an underestimation of the effort really needed for fasting. Like I said, everyone needs to do better.
Can chiara be in 72h challenges again please!!
Yall are just advertising marigold milk with malt right
jeralds pancakes give me serotonin
Definitely not subtle with the milk advertisement. Lol.
y’all be talking abt Chow as if it wasn’t her first time fasting, why you gotta be so mean & negative towards her? ik she doesn’t follow the rules accordingly BUT it was her first time obviously it was challenging for her/ to all the non-muslim that tried to fast because it was something she has yet to experience. lol at least she did tried her best to & finish the challenge👍🏼 which was a very good start.. stop trying to bring her down , if u have nothing good to say then keep it to urself pls FOR GOD SAKE. [chow, dont worry abt what the these comments says abt you, you do you babe, girl love here
