SEC adds too many teams and then complain that they can't get enough teams into the CFP. The 5 autobids protect parity in CFB but they want to re-write the system because of their desire to expand and kill the sport.
12 teams is not too many for a playoff. Unless of course you want the SEC & Big10 to continue to lord over the CFB landscape forever, amen. If anyone wants a more equitable sport… for the future… than we have to have a playoff system that honors the conference championships. Without it, the Big 2 conferences will take it over - because lawd knows that’s just what they want. Look; include the conference champ games as part of the 1st rd. That’s 8 teams of the 14. Then, include the top 2 highest ranked group of 5 conferences, but have them play each other to make the 2nd rd. Then have 4 at-large teams - to right any supposed wrongs - and make the big 2 conferences happy. The bottom line is that all the P4 conferences should have an equal shot in the playoff! It’s the only way to get a continual gauge of quality across the conferences…
Oh, one more thing…. No more non-con games: they’re mainly BS cream puff matchups that only serve to pad the win totals, and make evaluation of schedules even harder. Conferences are huge, and all teams should fill up their schedules with conf opponents.
I disagree with the "pressure" narrative on Franklin. I think the effort shown against Oregon which most of the country thought would be an Oregon blowout win was a big relief for this program. They now know that they can play with the big boys. Couple of breaks and they win that game. they are now very confident. Don't be surprised if they go very deep in this playoff. Regarding the Offense, why take any chances when SMU is imploding. they ran the ball fine (and have just about all year) and the wind was an issue. This offense will be fine.
There’s a difference between the most deserving 12 teams and the best 12 teams. That’s what the committee had to look at going forward. Other than that I love the idea of 2 rounds of home games, that would be great!
Sometimes its useful to pay attention to the lower levels of college football. They've been conducting playoffs for a number of years now, and if you'll notice them from year to year, you will see a LOT OF BLOWOUTS! College football at all its divisions and sub-divisions tends to have a very wide spectrum of team quality, with only a handful of teams being very good at the top. The more you expand the playoffs, the more blowouts there will tend to be, but in time, i think the committee and the programs will learn to adapt better on how to approach a post-season and the results will gradually improve. But there will always be a significant number of blowouts.
Some will say 8 teams is 4 too many or 4 teams is 2 too many. Easy solution: don't watch the games until it gets down to the amount of teams that makes you happy. Don't watch the 1st rounds. Start watching when the quarter finals start.
lol, overrated or not bama and ole miss would’ve put up better fights than Indiana & SMU. Even Miami (who I don’t believe in) would’ve been more competitive. In my opinion the committee put the most deserving teams in… but the problem is the most deserving teams are not the best overall teams. Btw this is coming from a west coast guy. Just sayin
@everettnettles9725 but would they have really gave a better game Milroe can't throw and read defenses fr and they lost 2 bad games this year Bama is overrated and ole miss always choke in big games west coast guy 😁 you obviously don't know football or you wouldn't be on here giving bad analysis which you have nothing to support that either of those teams would have done anything different saban is not at Bama and kiffin is not a big game coach and def not a championship coach they both would have been exposed.
only 5 of these 12 teams EVER had a chance to win it all , 4 was plenty and they want to ADD more teams to this playoff ??? NO WAY this shows there are TOO MANY weak teams as it is eight is all we need !!! clearly the last 4 teams IN ,had NO chance , you think MORE will make it better ? its NOT march Madness there are NO UPSETS
why are you talking to this CHEERLEADER? she is NO EXPERT on Football , she NEVER ever played the game !!! she just watches on TV , that makes us all experts??
Heather Tennessee was completely and utterly overmatched & Heather when it comes to strength of schedule ESPN gears theirs matrix to favor the SEC it's plain and simple everyone has mentioned it and have pointed it out outside of ESPN but I know you have to back up your company cuz you can get fired maybe the casual fan would buy this BS but I guess that's what you have to do so come on now 🫤😑
and Tenn was not overmatched?
first reasonable discussion I've heard from ESPN all week.
The sec is now 0-3 vs B1G teams the last 2 years in the playoffs...WHAT HAPPENEDUHHHHHH?

3 is too many that’s news to me
@@GoatedAtNFSright! I’ve could have sworn the big 10 added 4 but “the sec adds too many teams”

there’s pressure because they had an easy path to the semis
It’s a playoff you have underdogs for a reason.

@@JoeyAustin-ul1qbnah, 12 is too much
The problem is people are crying trying to get more SEC teams in and so hurt that a 3 loss Alabama didn't make it. SEC is completely overrated
