I feel like this is basically the exact opposite of why vr makes me sick, but still pretty much the same. Seeing movement that you're not physically making and moving but not seeing the movement happen at the same time is just an ultra mind fuck
It is similar, but VR amplifies the feeling because there is NO other visual feedback, whereas here you have the physical car interior you can see.

Woah I has like the exact opposite experience, I was watching this after watching a load of Michael and William, and I was like „oh who’s this british guy“ and like right after I watched the musical road video, and after that a very very large percentage of toms videos, coming back to this is really quite interesting as I now know the regular behavior of Tom
Literally the same here. It's weird how contrasting these channels are yet how they're my two favourites.

I used to design GPS systems with semi autonomous controls and I've pretty much done this before trying to dial it in. It is a very odd feeling driving something that has delayed controls.
Michael did the best because he hasn’t driven a car much, and therefore was able to better ignore the input from the screen.
I'd call it being less conditioned but yeah that makes sense.
That, or the crazy, mind controled gas pedal in a real car test better prepared him for this madness.

With some real time instrumentation added, this might actually be a great pilot training tool for IFR conditions. Alot of CFIT crashes were due to pilots' sight not matching up with their inner ear. Very neat idea and fun video.

Their personalities are completely clashing, and perfectly in sync.
I work with a full sized car simulator (a literal car put in a container off the ground with a motion simulator, 360 degree projected screens etc.), and it basically has the same effect. Probably because the hardware and software is fairly old. Surprisingly, only about 30% or so of the people we take through it get some motion sickness.
Honestly this is like making coffee designed to make you sleepy.
