I balked at the title until realized that as a pro tech of over a decade, my opinion is stilted. I see lots of red rot, probably because I’ve worked on 10s of thousands of horns. Well explained chemically! Well done!
@@AidanRitchie for sure there definitely is and maybe I wrongly attributed the red rot at the bottom to the sluggishness of one of my slides cuz I have same routine for them
My son's trombone has a weird spot on the bell, just about halfway down ( from your video I believe it is acid bleed) , anything I should clean it or treat it with to keep it from getting worse ? TIA
My tech gave me the diagnosis of red rot on tiny dots on the distal end of my slide (was second hand don’t know how old the edwards slide is)… have to get new tubes and I’m not looking forward to it
Nice sound and beautiful excerpt in the beginning!

There is definitely a difference playing a horn w red rot on end of slide tube vs one that doesnt , atleast for my playing
I think there's too many factors there... a new tube means different construction, the slide was taken apart, all sorts of things

Nice Bach 50B2!!

Most likely totally fine!

Your video decreased my threat perception of it though… might just save on the side for a few years and stress when it gets worse
That would be my choice! Until the slide has really bad action or starts to play really badly, I'm sure it's fine.
Hey aidan I was wondering what would be a good place to find deals on mouthpieces? I'm looking for a griego 4c or 5e just wondering

Is it possible to clean out the red rot after it’s already happened?
Nope. The affected part has to be replaced
Oh so after it’s started a little it can’t be fixed?
@@leviheckert1525 yup!
