Hi John Smith I love your videos and I also saw this machine at store when I was little this is pretty awesome vacuum even thu it doesn't have good suction
I had to replace the entire suction divertor mechanism on my vacuum. Right out of the box I reclined the machine and could hear the mechanism cracking. It was a pain to replace, but all the parts are still available. I too had problems with the screw holes on the base plate cracking as well as the screw holes around the filter assembly. The machine works fantastic now and has great suction but it sure is a brittle vacuum and wouldn't hold up to daily use.
John Smith I got the parts from Partswarehouse. Here is a link to this specific model and diagrams of the vacuum. I believe the part I ordered was the agitator assembly because it had the broken part of the suction divertor that I needed replaced, plus it also fixed the problem of all the broken screw threads. It was very reasonably priced too. www.partswarehouse.com/Hoover-U8351-WindTunnel-2-Extra-Reach-Bagless-s/1589.htm
John Smith It would have been part #92001286. The only thing I could see is that the new part would come with new screw holes if you had to break the glued ones. It essentially replaces the whole clear section of the vacuum base because towards the back of the part is where the divertor is located.
Have this same old Hoover, the same problem. Dirt not collecting in clear container. It all collects in the filter then backs up in the hose. I’m wondering why you have so many vacuums.
@@rodm5830 yeah, the bagged version was probably more reliable and less maintenance. But the overall build quality is awful on this. Plastic was very cheap and creaky
My model UH 30300 Houver bought 3 years ago in the States was quite stressful for me to assemble but now its done and working. But it gets quite hot although the lights don't switch off and the green color is on. Can it be that some part is not well placed ? I don't know how to fix it since I live in Brasil where Hoover isn 't even sold. I hope someone will help me because I'm afraid to use it.
Bruce Solomon they are much better. This windtunnel is very fragile. I’ve never had a tempo, nor will I own one because they are super loud. But the self propelled model I know was much better build
Any real weighty Hoover upright base with the canister from the React non lift version would be a powerful vacuum. The motor in that lightweight head is at best worthy of powering a Hot Wheel. It can't do real work.
@John Smith they had those in the bag variant too
Yes I’ve seen them
@@JohnSmithNE3478 they may still have them on ebay too
I remember watching Julie Truster on HSN pitching about this machine. Good ol days 😂😂

Stuart Alsup where did you get the parts? Do you know the part numbers?

Stuart Alsup I’m not sure what part it is on that link, and if I have to remove the baseplate and such, I glued the screws in :/

Also the green and blue models of the windtunnel 2 were available in bagged options
Also I said this machine comes with an extra “extension wand” I meant extension HOSE! And a bare floor horse hair brush

All of my followers are collectors or enthusiasts. Yes they really exist lol
@@JohnSmithNE3478 This wind tunnel 2 gets a f in every category for me. Time for a new vac for us.

I've been back and forth about purchasing one of those, but I may wind up buying an older hoover powerdrive, or a convertible.

nice
I have a wind tunnel v2
I sold it lol, never worked right
How would you compare the quality of the motor base and base plate on this compared to a current Windtunnel SelfPropelled or Tempo Widepath?
