    Could you imagine how much of these problems could be solved if our schools taught spiritual and stress management classes.

      The schools can stay out of spirituality, but I fully support teaching kids about emotions, etc.

    Yes! Our society doesn’t support our ability to be real and honest about who we are, so it is natural we feel anxious or fearful of exposing our true self. We have to learn we are enough and we don’t need validation from society in the first place. We are doing better than we think. Comparison is the thief of joy. ♥️ Noah, thank you for sharing your non-judgmental point of you and your beautiful heart with all of us. You are making a difference. I hope everyone is safe and well 🦋

      What do you mean by society? Aren’t we all society. Point is I think chance starts from within. Rock the good days accept the rough days, similar to how one sees a cloud or flame, it’s not good or bad, it’s just appreciated for itself.

    These newer videos of yours are so, so great, Noah. I feel like they dig deeper and deeper. So much valuable insight, it's incredible how much one can learn from just listening for twenty minutes. Always so cleanly delivered, I never feel like I don't get what you're talking about. Honestly, it's life changing advice you're offering. Thank you for doing it!

    I have to admit. I didn’t expect me to react this way while doing the exercise. But I actually balled my eyes out as tons of memories, not just fear, but anger, sadness, confusion etc. from my childhood made feel rejected and less worthy or ignored.

    I just remembered my first situation with social anxiety when I was 4 years old. And nobody comforted me. I was so alone in that situation. I just thought I never want to feel like that again. The second time I got anxious was when I was 8 and answered my phone at my grandma's place. I didn't know who was on the phone and my grandma judged me and laughed about me. And then I always ran away when the phone rang

    Noah this is what I have suffered from for over 30 years, as i sit here with tears rolling down my cheeks because of how both of my parents judged me in a very negetive way because of the things I feared and would force me to do whatever it was at the time only made me worse ,thank you for shedding some light on how I became \\\the way I am today.\\\\\

    I am sure that my anxiety started during childhood, but got through H.S. pretty good because I had physical talents in sports but whenever I got in the workforce I started believing my Dads relentlessness of how stupid I was and when I was in a social atmosphere I thought I couldn't talk with intelligence and it got so bad that I had a tremendous panic attack that sent me to the emergency room , and from that attack I created so much fear of having another one in public that everytime I was in public all I could think about was having an attack , so I created anxiety for the fear of having an attack, my life has been miserable for over 30 years now , while all of my dreams of success flew to the way side because of this and now that my life is coming to an end , mythoughts of being a failure in life is now starting to creep in , I am 58 living in my fathers basement, after a failed marriage and drug abuse, trying to self medicate,
    I just want you to know that it is comforting to know that someone actually knows what a person can go through his entire life, I just wish I would have had someone like yourself explain it to me, maybe my life would have been different , but at least I can treat myself the way my parents should have for the remaining time I do have left, so I want to thank you for your understanding of how anxiety works and how to forgive myself for what someone else did to me.

    Omg, best explanation about fear of fear. I am struggling with anxiety for ages and came to realize, besides all I've learned to self soothe just talking to myself that it is okay to be in fear is quite helpful. The layers you've described, this learned rejection of my own fear, really leads to fear. It was really eyeopening that behind this fear stands actually something different like fear of being an outcast and what not. Some memories about times where I had immense fear just shifted in this new perspective you brought to the table. Thank you Noah💜

    I'm going to play this again, it's relevant to me as I was critisized for being nervous and afraid by a family member who basically said when someone was rude it was my fault as I am not clear when speaking! I went to him for support and ended up feeling so broken. And this is not a parent, it can be many other significant peers around our time of growing up.

    It is very difficult to accept your fear if you have strong symptoms such as sweating or trembling in the presence of other people. When other people laugh or look at you strangely, you just want to sink into the ground. How can you accept it when others don't.I tell the little boy but it only feels played because I think it's bad.

    Thank you so much, dear Noah! During this guided meditation with You, I really felt that there was the surface of fear of being anxious over actual anxiety. Thanks to your kind words in the end and me able to let go this fear I feel now more acceptance of my anxiety🙏The thing is its ok to feel vulnerable, I knew it with my mind, I just didnt realize this fear of being anxious was so strong in me and the knowledge that this fear is not mine and I could let it go, really helped me🙏 If I understood correctly, we will always feel anxious more or less in some situations, so the key respond to that is not get rid of the anxiety, but accept that it is always going to be something vulnerable, and the only answer to this is support ourselves within these situations with all the love and kindness we could give ourselves?

      @NoahElkrief  4 года назад +1

      It's partly about accepting ourselves while we have anxiety. Secondly, it's about still honoring that it's not enjoyable to feel anxiety, so we want to try to let go of it. It's changing the motivation from "I want to get rid of my anxiety because it makes me defective and unlovable" to "I want to get rid of my anxiety because it doesn't feel nice"

    I am trying to not care what people think. I have read your book and it helps. I found out that I don't care what people think if I don't know them that much. If I do know them, I care about what they think because I see them so much. An example is someone at work or a neighbor. I want to have good interactions because I worry about all future interactions with them. Because of this I get anxiety when it comes to talking to them. I asked the question- What are some good things that could result from a situation where I get made fun of or am not liked. I came up with that I don't have to guess their opinions or be friends w fake people who don't like me. My previous strategy was realizing that people liking you is just their preference but this dosent help as well with people I know. Even if I know its just their preference, I still want them to like me to avoid future potential rejection. Can you help me in this situation? I am making progress but would like another way to "Re think' these thoughts. Thank you

    I didn’t get much from this exercise. But I’m always anxious about messing up at work and not being accepted. And I guess it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. So I get anxious thinking about being anxious and nothing changes. I need to accept that being anxious is ok and have love for myself and not worry what others will think.

      That is over thinking. Easier said than done. I think the solution is just to accept your anxiety, instead of trying to suppress it. Like a storm that comes and goes, so do our thoughts and emotions, they come and go. Accepting that pattern has greatly helped me whenever I'm anxious or depressed. I no longer AM depressed or anxious , but just going through an episode that will pass eventually. I think keeping this in mind will help you not become totally over taken by it. Good luck!
