Excellent. Never got around to reading or listening to August Derelth. He really captures the spirit and cadence of H.P. Lovecraft but has that feel of a man recounting a tale with a strong whisky shaking in his hand as he unburden himself with the terrible knowledge. Knowing that it would likely curse rather than bless them with the tale.❤
Great work as ever!👍👍
Blood and bones for my Lord Arioch.,....,Oh sorry!... wrong mythos. Anyhoo, nice story, nice reading.😊
This is such a well-written tale with a great and terrifying pay-off.

August Derleth had to be the biggest Lovecraft fan of all time.

Thank you.
Mmmmmm cosmic (Homer voice)
"It comes with a free frogurt"
Homer: "That's good"
"The frogurt is also cursed"
Homer: "That's bad"
Love it
So this guy inveigles himself into a stranger's house, goes through his stuff (which he hasn't the wit to fully comprehend), murders him, and then expects us to think that*he's* the wronged party?
Great story.
My god. The true horror, that a writer had to collaborate with HP Lovecraft.
Jokes aside, outstanding video 👍
The "collaboration" was actually done post-death, because Derleth was Lovecraft's will executor, and inherited all Lovecraft's possessions, including story ideas and partial book ideas \ outlines.
So there was no collaboration as far as two people working together on a story.
Unless Lovecraft's ghost gave Derleth pointers and writing advice, which I'm not prepared to rule out.
The jury is actually out on whether these stories were even loosely based on Lovecraft's story notes or unfinished work. I don't think Derleth ever made public any of these "partially unfinished" Lovecraft story notes \ fragments, so it is possible that Derleth just piggybacked on Lovecraft's name.
@@Boogie_the_catdidn't realise it was done post-humourously. H.P.L. was not a people person to put it mildly so it says a lot that he let someone like A.D. to intrust with his legacy. Someone who got him and what he was all about as much as anyone could I suppose.
Thanks
