Man, I knew Augie Derleth wasn't half the writer Lovecraft was, but I forgot JUST how amateurishly crappy his prose really could get. Telepathy is bad enough, but visibly projecting your soul as a white light into the sky? Such silliness belongs in a Narnia book or something, not the Cthulhu Mythos.
Not everything has to be some monster story full of gore and dread anyways I like the original from my universe or whatever it is that caused this weird ness

Rather enjoyed this. I’m not sure I like the idea of the Elder Gods being called in like an air strike, but the imagery is impressive!
