Does this mean we should use good active skillgames and socket them with any support gemas to all our sixlinks in our stashes in standart so they will be converted to 6 linked skilles?
I can't tell if they will be more popular than in POE1, or if they'll still be useless trash. On the one hand, you can finally put a useful skill into them. On the other hand, you can now have nine good skills without an unset ring.
Let's talk business... The crap that is RNG Chromatic Orb's are out? Meaning with this new System we now we are able to have a reliable way of customizing the color of the Sockets? Also what about the Fusing's? Now we have to farm for Jewels that have 6 Sockets or we can upgrade them?
They talked about it during the demo, there'll be what they call "meta gems", for example you'll be able to socket active gems (e.g. auras) in what is essentially an Enlighten, which will both reduce the mana cost of auras in it AND give you one single binding to cast all auras in it at once. Same goes with Cast on Crit, you'll be able to socket your trigger & proc skill gems in it alongside the supports
When we will get SEE DMG on Minions ?? with small numbers ofc but still will be nice to see how build work .. cuz only with PoB it doesnt feel any differents 6-7-8mil dps its all same... to mobs.. :)
So how will the classic tabula lvling work with these changes then? you gotta have a lvl 1 6-socket gem PER skill and then a tabula for a one-use period or will it downscale the gemlvl to character level? i want to see them address this issue.
I think the big question no one is asking is: what about vaal skills and lvl 21 skills? Once corrupted, no more changes can be done? Can I transfer xp from a L21 gem to a gem with better sockets to get it to 21??
"Level 21" has always been a corruption bonus, so you won't be able to level a gem to it. Vaals will work just like they do now, you'll get 2 skills, and you won't be able to modify the gem. Vaal gems level normally from 1-20 just like other gems, so transfering xp shouldn't be an issue.
Imagine this: it's league start day, you're running an [Insert Skill] leaguestarter. You're 45 minutes into the league and you get your main skill gem, so you toss the for 4 Jeweller Orbs you've accumulated at it, and you manage to land a 5-link. I VERY much like the idea of plugging in new gear upgrades without thinking (although it will make OCD folks like me want to pick up a LOT more items to get that coveted 13 extra life): you get your main skill, you get your Stormbrand, and you toss all of your currency at it from the start. There is no more grinding for a Tabula Rasa, I always loathed how imbalanced it was, and having to sacrifice a lot of potential defenses just because I had this stupid free 6-link item with limitless versatility.
Tabula is pretty balanced actually. You are sacrificing potential defenses for offense. A lot of people skip tabula and just by a rare 5 link with res and life. It's a utility item. A lot of builds have trouble using it anyway until their mana issues get solved.
@@lvx969 Totally agree tabula is a well balanced unique chest. Sure it lets you have a 6 linked skill but mana was a bitch that early on so you really just didn't do that. it was really there to have a seemless transition from end of act 10 to Endgame where you need a 6 link but you need to grind for it first.
So, we aint looking for 6l items anymore, but trying to find 6linked gems right? Are the links on gem drops fixed or can we modify the gems into 6links?
They will drop like gear does, with iLVL ranges that may or may not give you appropriate socket numbers when they drop ...but will allow you to craft up to their maximum allowed socket number.

are they going to reduce the Stat Requirements on Gems Lvl.50 to get 5 support gems on a gem so much for having lower level gems being supported by 3 other gems. Selling Preleveled / Altered Gems is going to be Big$ in Poe2
Since the PoE forum seems to have hard crashed today... something that is desperately needed, not just the dps of whatever's set up in a skill gem: Identification of and individual calculations for MINIONS! What spectres do I have, what DPS are they doing individually with their skills (WTF *are* their skills??) what supports are actually working with the skills the spectres have? What's my golem DPS? Or per zombie, skel? One should not need Path of Building (which is not terribly effective at true calculations without a *lot* of tweaking of items) to figure out what they're doing and what their potential could be. As for sockets - armor should always have 3 sockets. And... how many leagues into PoE2 do you think they'll get before they create a way to link your multi socketed gear like armor or 2 handers? So suddenly you've got upwards of 12 effective links (and potentially MANY more).
same game, new optional way to reach maps, the game you know is still there and a new optional 7act story will be yours to conquer. -praise the toucan!
Yeah this is basically how it will work. Chromatics will be used to reroll the colours of the support slots in gems. The new currency will be used to reroll the colour of the gem slots in items. So there will not be any bows you can find with blue or red sockets unfortunatly. They will always have a base colour for what item it is. (Bows always having 4 green slots). But you can always compensate this by perhaps using a dex/int helmet so you get a blue/green socket to put your gem in untill you can get your hand on the currency that changes the colour of your gem slots in your bow
bow gems are green, you can change the color of the sockets in the skill gem with a chrom. so not really an issue. unless you're making a caster archer?

Please help me out with a question, I have never played path of exile before but i am very interested since i love these kind of games. Is it too late to jump into this game? Like, will you be too far behind to experience this new expansion? Does it have enough endgame to keep you interested in 100+ hours? How easy is it to play with friends? Are there many viable builds or just a few cookie cutter builds?
OK. So I havent played ¨that¨ much of POE but I do have a couple of hundred hours so I will try my best to answer your questions. 1. It is definitely not to late to start playing. POE is mainly played in leagues. Which are quite like the seasons that Diablo 3 offer its players. A league lasts about three months and when a new one starts basically everyone starts a new character to play the new expansion and take part of the new gameplay which said expansion is adding. The difficulty curve is quite steep though so I would recommend following a guide if you are new. 2. If you are commited enough the potentiall hours you can spend on this game is countless. Especially in the endgame with mapping and min/max-ing your gear. 3. Its really easy to play with friends. Just add each other to the party and you're of. 4. The amount of viable builds are many. And many more are theorycrafted for each new expansion. And a build to recommend for a first time plyer is Arc Witch. More specifally Enki's Arc Witch. It takes you through the entire game with no problems and is really beginner-friendly. Hope my answers could be of any help to you and good luck!
@@andreaskarlstrom1442 I see! What are the pros of playing leagues over the standard game? You can min max in in both so why not do it persistently and start over when you feel like it?
Marco Rossi Bardh I think the biggest reason to why people play league over standard is to tala part in the new league mechanic that comes with it. And of course try the many new skills an builds that pop up with a new league.
won't this change make current shaper/elder gloves/boots/helmets that are already 7 or 8 links essentially give the character MULTIPLE 7 or 8 links? especially for attacks, i think legacy shaper/elder gloves will be godlike. and we still have a few weeks to roll more of them
It is gonna be so hard to get massive amounts of jewellers without finding any 6 socket items. If they don't keep the loot rewards from their current league designs, the price of jewellers is gonna soar.
To be honest I quiet liked socketing when I first came in the game because it felt like a very involved system and it was visually pleasing, perhaps how links work can be confusing sometimes so maybe they need to improve on that, what I liked about sockets is the ability to just drag and drop a gem on top of an item and having the ability to visually see the gem on the item, it felt very realistic for some reason, it gives this feeling of satisfaction on a deep level. Basically visual and auditory feedback should always be present and it should be in a way that feels the most natural while keeping the fantasy and dark aesthetics of the game intact and complimentary.
The best part about POE is the character can be built in many way by picking the skill specialization and complementary skill trees. People who know what they are doing will become like a god. My witch for example specializes in AOE cold attack and with added element conversion. Now that I can actually load a few Herald skill into a meta gem and spam it my build option pretty much go completely banana. Plus less frustration at maintaining my build everytime I upgrade. Good bye fusing orb and Jeweller hell-you won’t be miss.
Hope they improve crafting..and think about how future leagues currency is best tied to core league for crafting. I'm saying make things so easy we all get too gear before maps just streamline it and make it easy to understand not easy to accomplish.
What I understand is the point of the overhaul is to give us the ability to have more skills, correct? So in addition to the 5 flasks, we now have a second piano (withup to 8 keys) to clackity clack all over. Is it a conspiracy theory to believe that GGG is run from the shadows by a union of wrist surgeons?
While I don't doubt in the least some maniacs will create builds for 8 skills you need to fire at every single encounter, taking a look at their gameplay footage, seems like the idea is more towards giving options during play; like if before you were a flicker strike dumbass (like me) who only presses Q and hey that solves everything, now you might need to choose between your 3 or 4 skills, each one being supported to be better at single target, AoE, clear speed etc. I suppose they are trying to move away from the "activate buffs, press one key 50 times, win game" play style.
The only thing I hope they fixed is the performance. It's annoying knowing I can't really play PoE anymore cause the game just doesn't run well on my hardware and I run it on lowest settings.
I realized a huge flaw in the skill gem system for example if you want to be a spell caster marauder something like righteous fire incinerate you have to get es or es hybrid gear. When you should be using strength bases which clearly this will be a big issue for spell casting strength classes
Because not only wrong armor choice but for example the skill gem righteous fire with seven energy shield and health now you have to have more es and take a shitload more degen without a way to counter it
so what about those slotted items gets increased gem skill levels and what about support gems from a different color do i need to color the gem slots ?
Still have to slot the skill gem into the armor, just not also it's supports. Nothing fundamentally changes gearwise, other than no longer needing to work out socket and link numbers, as that's now moved to the skill gems themselves.
Gear tells you how many 6L you can get per piece, gems changes the number of links, slots and colors, tabula rasa has one more 6L than every other piece of armor. Gotcha 👍
They just become their new normal versions. Gear has a fixed socket number in PoE 2, no variance. What he was referring to in the video is how the process is going to be with the actual conversion, since items will be socketed. The only real feasible thing I can see them doing is making all items auto-unsocket and having the gems sent to remove-only tabs. Id imagine they would do some sort of "fairness" process at that point too, for the value of the links lost, giving players an equal amount of jewelers in their stash for 5-6 link items.
@@ToadstedCroaks To me the obvious solution is that your 6L chest will have 2 sockets - 1 will be empty and 1 will have your 6L skill gem and supports. If I'm right then when the time comes, everyone in Standard will need to fill all their 6L items with skills or they will be missing out.
The biggest mechanical issue I have with the game gets solved by this, now i can actually upgrade gear without making my entire setup go to shit

I can't wait. Holy moly.
my guildy is gonna be happy he never has to spend 6587 fusings on his disfavor once poe 2 drops lol
Does this mean we should use good active skillgames and socket them with any support gemas to all our sixlinks in our stashes in standart so they will be converted to 6 linked skilles?
Now I'm getting curious about the unset ring...
I can't tell if they will be more popular than in POE1, or if they'll still be useless trash. On the one hand, you can finally put a useful skill into them. On the other hand, you can now have nine good skills without an unset ring.
ahora voy a tener que tener por duplicado las gemas de soporte por cada tipo de skill ? Ya no las podre reutilizar ?
I heard you liked skills, so I put some skills in your skills, and then wrapped it all up in a skill pie
Change video playback speed to 0.75x
take a shot every time he says uhm
lol
Support gems will be socketed into skill gems? What if I want my support gem to affect multiple skills (e.g. Void Manipulation + Bane + Despair)?
They talked about it during the demo, there'll be what they call "meta gems", for example you'll be able to socket active gems (e.g. auras) in what is essentially an Enlighten, which will both reduce the mana cost of auras in it AND give you one single binding to cast all auras in it at once.
Same goes with Cast on Crit, you'll be able to socket your trigger & proc skill gems in it alongside the supports
We cant play the old builds and all us chars useless after the new campange is coming in
Diablo 4 got me excited, but Exile 2 has me fucking HYPED
There's something oddly comforting about a dev that says something sucks, instead of using some corporate jargon.
This is actually true for any corporate. Just being open and honest is so rare that it comes off as immensely authentic.
Maybe the Tabula forces each Gem to have 5 slots, even if the Gem normally has only 2
I think the big question no one is asking is: what about vaal skills and lvl 21 skills? Once corrupted, no more changes can be done? Can I transfer xp from a L21 gem to a gem with better sockets to get it to 21??
"Level 21" has always been a corruption bonus, so you won't be able to level a gem to it. Vaals will work just like they do now, you'll get 2 skills, and you won't be able to modify the gem.
Vaal gems level normally from 1-20 just like other gems, so transfering xp shouldn't be an issue.
@@ToadstedCroaks that's the thing... Since gems are now socketed and linked, corrupting has become now much more risky. Which I'm ok with tbh famalam.
sooo... what about corrupted gear ? white sockets ?
i wish there is away to test your build in the hideout.. gameplay mechanics only works on actual enemies.. like charges and such on critical hit..
Now you don't have to rely on rngesus to get the slots you want
You think getting 5 support slots on a gem is gonna be any easier than getting 6 (linked?) sockets on an item today?
Wait did he just auto sort his inventory around 0:35???
I wonder what will the vendor recipe be for chromatic orbs? Guessing selling a skill with all 3 colors
yea imagine chromas having actual value, I guess they become quite precious after the conversion
So, we aint looking for 6l items anymore, but trying to find 6linked gems right? Are the links on gem drops fixed or can we modify the gems into 6links?
They will drop like gear does, with iLVL ranges that may or may not give you appropriate socket numbers when they drop ...but will allow you to craft up to their maximum allowed socket number.
wonder if there will be a sort of shared stash with poe 1 and 2, considering these changes
PoE 2 is the same game as PoE, just a new/different campaign
@@theMagos super disappointed if that's the case, this has been taking so long and is suppose to compete against diablo iv, i'm looking for more than just a new campaign and new skills
Fusing going away...I dont mind it.
he says 8 primary i count 9, 4 weapons, 2 armour and 3 from other peices
POE2 Gonna be sooo freaking Poggers
6 link Doryani's Touch would be fantastic!
so maybe i'm over thinking this but are Skill gems going to have a "Set" amount of support slots per skill or is that also editable with Currency such as "Support-Jeweler" "Support-Chromatic" gems (Edited- Called it before watching full video) lol
are they going to reduce the Stat Requirements on Gems Lvl.50 to get 5 support gems on a gem so much for having lower level gems being supported by 3 other gems. Selling Preleveled / Altered Gems is going to be Big$ in Poe2
Since the PoE forum seems to have hard crashed today... something that is desperately needed, not just the dps of whatever's set up in a skill gem:
Identification of and individual calculations for MINIONS!
So is POE2 a separate game from POE? Or is it an evolution of the game?
I wonder if all our stash will transfer over.
2 games in one package. Player can still access the original 10 acts when 4.0 drops. Both old and new acts have the same endgame content.
same game, new optional way to reach maps, the game you know is still there and a new optional 7act story will be yours to conquer. -praise the toucan!
I wonder how stuff like The Squire will work
2 Meta-gems with 5 support gems each, so your weapon will have up to 4 15-link skills... ofc... -_-
He said the colors on the weapons will be fixed until you can get a late game currecny? So no bows with blue or red sockets?
"until you can get a late game currecny" --> maybe chromatic will be rare drop
Yeah this is basically how it will work.
Chromatics will be used to reroll the colours of the support slots in gems.
The new currency will be used to reroll the colour of the gem slots in items.
So there will not be any bows you can find with blue or red sockets unfortunatly. They will always have a base colour for what item it is. (Bows always having 4 green slots). But you can always compensate this by perhaps using a dex/int helmet so you get a blue/green socket to put your gem in untill you can get your hand on the currency that changes the colour of your gem slots in your bow
@@dealva2035 TIME TO STOCK UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bow gems are green, you can change the color of the sockets in the skill gem with a chrom. so not really an issue. unless you're making a caster archer?
@Elsa Debroglie Wanna bet ?
talks about 8 6links, all screenshots show 9....
This has been confusing me too. They are in New Zealand, maybe they count differently down there.
@@awesimo4684 i have also felt the impression he was trying to convey that the eight is the maximum, but screenshots and other info he told you potentially could have up to 12 (correct my if i misunderstood) weapons 4, helm 1, boots 1, gloves 1, tabula 3, unset ring 1, another unset ring 1, total 12
@@awesimo4684 Programmers start counting from 0
@@pk10006 We start counting from zero, but we still give the total in the normal way. If an array has 8 things in it, then myArray[].length = 8 in every language I know of. But you're right that myArray[8] will give an IndexOutofBounds exception.
There are 8 skills on the skill bar. Maybe any excess skills need one of the "Cast On X" metagems to work. :/
@@andreaskarlstrom1442 What happens to a league caharvter once the league is over?
Marco Rossi Bardh It just converts to a standard character
won't this change make current shaper/elder gloves/boots/helmets that are already 7 or 8 links essentially give the character MULTIPLE 7 or 8 links? especially for attacks, i think legacy shaper/elder gloves will be godlike. and we still have a few weeks to roll more of them
It is gonna be so hard to get massive amounts of jewellers without finding any 6 socket items. If they don't keep the loot rewards from their current league designs, the price of jewellers is gonna soar.
Low tier currency drops like candy now
To be honest I quiet liked socketing when I first came in the game because it felt like a very involved system and it was visually pleasing, perhaps how links work can be confusing sometimes so maybe they need to improve on that, what I liked about sockets is the ability to just drag and drop a gem on top of an item and having the ability to visually see the gem on the item, it felt very realistic for some reason, it gives this feeling of satisfaction on a deep level.
What about zombie build.... Blue zombie, green faster attacks, and red for increased damage?
watching it in slow motion is an option ^^
wish they would make it so you can change the socket color individually instead of changing all 6 randomly.... the rng :(
so the sockets will now be on gems or is it still on gear?
The number of skill gems is decided by the gear, the number of support gems is decided by the skill gem
I suppose they are trying to move away from the "activate buffs, press one key 50 times, win game" play style.
any release date?
Will I be able to see the damage minions do?
The only thing I hope they fixed is the performance. It's annoying knowing I can't really play PoE anymore cause the game just doesn't run well on my hardware and I run it on lowest settings.
13:00 WHOA WHOA WHOA, hold the fucking door... Does he mean that I can actually use my character ls from PoE 1 in PoE 2!?!
I realized a huge flaw in the skill gem system for example if you want to be a spell caster marauder something like righteous fire incinerate you have to get es or es hybrid gear. When you should be using strength bases which clearly this will be a big issue for spell casting strength classes
Because not only wrong armor choice but for example the skill gem righteous fire with seven energy shield and health now you have to have more es and take a shitload more degen without a way to counter it
so where do wet get our divine orbs from now =?==!==!=!=!=!
They could just make them drop more often
epic rap battles of history
so what about those slotted items gets increased gem skill levels and what about support gems from a different color do i need to color the gem slots ?
No difference, and use a chromatic.
Gotcha 👍
eta release on this epicness?
Late 2023 to early 2024
Just wish they would make non cash shop gear look somewhat decent. Top tier gear shouldn't look like crap...
They better tread lightly with the QoL changes.
So tabula becomes obsolete now?
I don't think so, it will still probably allow you to have 1 six socket at level 1. they can make it work just look different.
how long wait RAP version? =D
where is market system?
how are 6linked items gonna convert into the new system tho?
