The brand matters a lot. Games sell based on the brand, D4 will sell millions just like D3 before it. Hell I'll buy it, your favourite streamer will buy it, and probably every other ARPG fan will buy it. All while knowing it won't be as good as PoE, but diablo is diablo and it will always be huge. Now what happens after remains to be seen. I'm almost sure it will be a ghost town a few months after release just like D3, and people will go back to playing PoE very quickly. But even if you're a hardcore PoE fan, you should want Diablo to cause some damage to PoE's playerbase, because that will push GGG to produce better content and be competitive, so really as a player you only stand to gain.

Customers: :worried: Exilecon: *Announces the next-next league* Customers: "OK, this sounds fun. Let's do this!"
Great stuff, but I hope they do make gem slots different shapes as well as different colors for colorblind people. I mean in can't be too hard to do, especially compared to a huge amount of work GGG already willing to do with other features.
A few suggestions on the mobile game. Making it so you tap as few times as possible is key imo, running over loot should be auto pick up (with an options meny to costumise what you auto pick, what rarirty what types etc) Interactable should auto interact wen you pass next to them or the character makes contact (doors, chest, lock boxes etc). Portals could benefit from being walkthrough to travel rather than tap to use. General a design pillar imo should be, u should only be only using your fingers for dragging gems, maps, currency for crafting (the vital stuff to the gameplay loop) and let all the chores like interactables, picking up loot, going in portals etc be auto interaft with a robust costumisation in the options menu (also a sell all, identify all and move all to stash buttons could be live savers). Also imo the game should get the acts as well to add more meat to it and more involvement.
1:47:36 We got a new gem that let you put all of your aura in Croud: ....Confused.... Chris: You can activate all of your aura with one click Croud: YEAHHHH BOIIIIIIIIII
That cursor looks huge compared to my tiny cursor. i still imagine i will lose track of the cursor when the screen is too busy. So did you add increased cursor size or is the resolution low so the cursor is bigger because running on a higher resolution my cursor is so damn tiny
What happens if you have multiple auras but not all need a support to keep the aura mod down in cost. Forced to unset rings? Unset rings + Kaoms, seems hugely powerful going forward with this.
I'm having a problem with the live stream; the total length is only two hours, instead of the 8+ stated in the thumbnail. Does anyone know how to fix this?
As for blight, just keep Blighted Maps in the drop pool as normally occurring. the blight encounters themselves would just clutter the game further and blighted maps were much more sought after and enjoyed than the regular encounters.
An issue I see with PoE2's gem system is builds such as necromancer/golemancer that use multiple skills gems in one link that they will not be able to.
I think an auto pick-up option for currency would be amazing in PoE mobile! A separate loot menu that allows one to select the currency your character will automatically pick up when you close to it.
How much would you be willing to sacrifice for auto pick up? As auto pickup would immensely favor clearspeed to an unbelievable new height and very unhealthy for the game and economy, maybe in SSF it could be a thing.
It's safe to assume that mobile will have a very different economy. It's almost certainly going to be online and allow players to interact with each other and stuff, because otherwise cosmetic MTX won't work... but the ergonomics of phone games being what they are, they're probably going to need to find a way to encourage quick pick-up groups or something. On average you'd expect people to log in, do a map or two and be done for a while, so that sort of changes the nature of everything. Trade would still be a good excuse to get players to interact at least a bit, but it's an interesting question how well it could work without some internal system. Maybe players will mostly trade with whoever they get partied with, which if it happens, I think is pretty nicely limiting in a way - sort of quasi-SSF, with little bits of opportunistic trade.
There could be an instance based loot system where all loot is shown after completing a map. Sort of like a reward screen - then you pick and chose what to keep or send to stash/sell etc
I have to say it...There is more creativity in level design in this first act playthrough by Kripp than in the entirety of Diablo 4. I liked D4's campaign, but the world design is basically more of what we've seen before: mountains, desert, jungle, swamp... The only kinda interesting area was the mission where you had to go out on the ship-wrecked boats. Compare that to the diversity in monster and level design in this 1-act playthrough. The manor at the end, you can see the levels through the floor that you are slowly descending down into. The village that's been put to the torch is a stunning setting. Not to mention that the boss designs are infinitely more varried than the 6 or so bosses that repeat throughout the dungeons of D4. PoE 2 is going to knock this out of the park.
Especially after watching some of what they plan to do with PoE:2, I am really glad that they have decided to have it be concurrent with PoE. For instance, I like much of what they are doing with the changes to the skill gem system and items, and want to try it out, so I will play the new game, but I also dislike other aspects, so I will likely also play the original. I like that it seems streamlined, but to do so they seem to have removed some options; I like the new way of connecting supports to primaries, but I also liked having a witch that carried a 2 handed axe/sword, and the new system seems to involve the unified colors of an item being tied to its type, which means those 2 handed axes/swords would likely have red sockets, and to be an effective witch, I would be forced to use a wand or staff, so that I could get my blue sockets. They could likely work around it using currency like they do now, where I could get a blue socketed axe/sword, but it might take a bunch of resources, but the item socket thing is just one example of what I am talking about- I am sure there will be numerous differences between the original and this new one, and while I am excited to try them out, I also want the option to go back to the original if I don't like the changes (or just prefer certain aspects of certain builds in the original), and still have the original be updated/patched, as well as having the new content be accessible via the original (or at least have new content continue for the new game, even if it ends up diverging from the new content available via the new game). I love that the developers seem to try to balance the desire to try new mechanics and experiment with the love the players have for how things currently are. You see this in numerous ways, so it is clear that this isn't just something they talk about or pay lip service- they genuinely care about not only making the game better, but also preserving what people love about the game. It seems that their solution often involves giving the players the choice to keep things the same or try something new, and I very much appreciate that, because it means that if I don't like something new and just want to play the old way, I can do so while still being able to play a game that will be maintained. When I didn't like D3, I could of course return to D2, but (besides the fact that they had nerfed what I loved about D2) that meant that I was relegated to playing a buggy defunct game that would eventually die a slow death. If I don't like some new aspect in PoE, I can always go back to standard, and still get a game that will continue to function and receive patches/updates. I love that they give me the option that way, because just like them, I want to experiment, but I also like the option to bail if the experiment fails (and they way they set up giving us the option to bail, it also gives them the option to bail on a failed experiment without hurting the main franchise).
The mobile game actually likes like a fun time sync. I just hope there is ZERO connectivity between it and the PC/console games outside of maybe exclusive cosmetic unlocks.
I wonder if Dominus has nightmares about Tie23, because I know I still think about that disrespect of him during Exilecon every single time I see Dominus.
Big yes for the mobile game. It'll also bring in lots more players I think handling it similar to how you did for ssf would be a good idea though. Being able to transfer characters from pc to mobile and maybe make it so you can transfer items from mobile to pc
If you ever played a really old game called Phantasy Star Online it has multiple story campaigns called "Episodes" that are complete leveling experiences independant of each other but you can move between freely. Its like that, except without the moving freely between part. Same game, same engine, same client, just different story options for leveling.

Blizzard for months before blizzcon: "Hey, there's something new coming in for Diablo! Get excited!" *Also has basically not updated the existing game.*
Blizzcon: "Here's Diablo Immortal. Don't you guys have phones?"
Customers: :rage:
GGG before exilecon: "Hey guys, we've got a lot of exciting news coming up. Better come in and get your announcements asap." *Continues to update the game.*
Exilecon: *Announces PoE 2*, then *announces the next league* then a mobile version.
Customers: :worried:
Exilecon: *Announces the next-next league*
Customers: "OK, this sounds fun. Let's do this!"
Conquerors of the Atlas and Metamorph will be in the same patch.
Well they weren't lying
Great stuff, but I hope they do make gem slots different shapes as well as different colors for colorblind people. I mean in can't be too hard to do, especially compared to a huge amount of work GGG already willing to do with other features.
im okay with them including a color blind mode. if im not mistaken, they already offer this
A few suggestions on the mobile game.
Making it so you tap as few times as possible is key imo, running over loot should be auto pick up (with an options meny to costumise what you auto pick, what rarirty what types etc)
Interactable should auto interact wen you pass next to them or the character makes contact (doors, chest, lock boxes etc).
Guess they forgot to mention, New Zealand is actually Path of Exile 3, its still a work in progress but they got the graphics down already.
1:47:36 We got a new gem that let you put all of your aura in
Croud: ....Confused....
Chris: You can activate all of your aura with one click
Croud: YEAHHHH BOIIIIIIIIII
Lessons learned. What about D3 and D4? Oh wait...
That cursor looks huge compared to my tiny cursor. i still imagine i will lose track of the cursor when the screen is too busy. So did you add increased cursor size or is the resolution low so the cursor is bigger because running on a higher resolution my cursor is so damn tiny
Oh god oh fuck not the Labyrinth theme again
Will there be a panel with some of the voice actors? That would be the best thing ever.
Wish I would’ve seen this closer to the release of 2. The waits going to be hellish now.
I've read that it's an issue with long videos being uploaded after stream. Give it a few hours and it should have it all.
@@berlols Ah ok as long as its not a problem on my end. Thank you!
@@brianwong5658 I had that issue, it's fine now, if you want to try it again.
Brian Wong its 8h for me now

As for blight, just keep Blighted Maps in the drop pool as normally occurring. the blight encounters themselves would just clutter the game further and blighted maps were much more sought after and enjoyed than the regular encounters.
GGG should realize that kripp playing even the time is over is a good sign
@@cgibbard indeed
PoE 2 is going to knock this out of the park.
d4 is like a toddler with a crayon pack drew the map layout
No one has noticed how great the graveyard music is?
Base. Now we have Path of exile 2 with very bad. And Poe 1 without league 6 mounth
After being disappointed by Delirium and Harvest, i came back here to charge back up on Hype. It worked.
same same haha, Skipped Delirium and Enjoyed Harvest here just finished 36/40 and taking a rest :P
49:27 you can clearly see tarke wondering what krip's morning breath smells like
The mobile game actually likes like a fun time sync.
It'll also bring in lots more players
I think handling it similar to how you did for ssf would be a good idea though. Being able to transfer characters from pc to mobile and maybe make it so you can transfer items from mobile to pc
How many times he told “aright ok 👌🏼 ”???
So all chris said was true. Poe1 and poe2 is nightmare to maintain
Path of exile 2 will need downlond we have 2path of exile games? Or one? Itis be POE2? Or we have czn play and older version?
From what i heard its 2 campaigns on the same launcher. You choose which you will use to reach the atlas/endgame
Yeah, it's all in the same client, and characters who played through different campaigns end up in the same endgame and same economy.
If you ever played a really old game called Phantasy Star Online it has multiple story campaigns called "Episodes" that are complete leveling experiences independant of each other but you can move between freely.
Its like that, except without the moving freely between part. Same game, same engine, same client, just different story options for leveling.
hope we get some cool Lich or elemental forms for golemancy an necro mancy. so much potentail for spell casters an stuff
I wanted to be there so bad but I just don't have the money right now :(
I am loving the new difficulty level.
