Wow... if you asked me what rules you were breaking I probably would've guessed the sun glasses and that's it. I never would've thought about the other things. That's wild!
I would have guessed the sunglasses, unbuttoning the shirt and showing the arms but not the hat, suspenders and vest while working in a hot field in the sun.
You know, I believe in dressing modestly, but having to measure brims of hats, sleeves rolled down, and how clothing is fastened is very cultish when assigned as godliness. To keep members in line by enforcing man’s traditions is cult like. I ran across some Amish women in Seymour, MO, and they were all dressed in black, covered everywhere except their faces. It was July and I couldn’t imagine how hot they were in that Ozark humidity. I was dressed in shorts to my knees, tennis shoes, and a tshirt and I was burning up. To me, there is nothing glamorous about that nor will I romanticize it. I am sorry these women HAVE to dress like that.

It seems like if someone goes to work in a field during the hot part of summer and puts on a winter jacket to work in they will become honorary amish and accepted by the community.

to think there are people who believe their loving god would judge them poorly based on the clothes they have on,.. how do people get this lost from the original message, that god loves us all the same , we are all created in his image , you will be judged by what's in your heart not what you are wearing, or what man made building you go to pray in, god knows the real you, not the one you present in public, he see's you warts and all, these man made religious rules are nonsense, there were no Amish, there were no Catholics, no Jehovah Witnesses or Buddhist when god gave his only son to carry our burden of sin , and your sole will not even require clothes when you are chosen to be a part of something good that is much larger than yourself, or you neighbor
I do understand it because it’s actually in the Bible as a means to prevent the sin from spreading to and corrupting the whole church body and giving the impression that the church condones willful bad behavior. BUT it was for big things only not for things like wearing sunglasses while working in the sun. Also in the Bible one is given at least 3 chances to repent and restore themselves before being shunned. In addition, shunning in the Bible is only within the church not family and society. So families and friends in the church aren’t expected to cut each other off outside the church. A person’s life is not to be ruined outside the church. I have seen it done in real life and I have to say it is effective when done Biblically.

You go around reading your scriptures but I dont think they are actually resonating with you, the only thing you seem to actually care about is the aspects that deal with tradition but that blinds you to all the details you are missing. For instance you say Sunday is the Lords day, why is that the case, what scripture can you point to? Sad that such a devote is so utterly deceived on so many things, hence why it said in the end the deception will be so bad that even the elect could be fooled IF it were possible. I doubt either one of us is the elect so we need to actually pay attention, as much as you are a "hater" of mans tradition, you keep his tradition by ignoring the lords command about Sabbath
