Lost Galaxy and RPM proves you can adapt anything.
There is always a one shot comic. Boom studio had done that before for "Power never before seen on earth". What about "Forbidden/Too hard to adapt" power. Now for Lupin vs Pat what about this. I know a lot of fan are gonna love this. Re brand this show as power ranger Hexagon? Lupinranger don't work for nobody but themselves while the Pataranger is the government funded side. One lead by Tommy One lead by Jason. One re steal "prototype " ranger gear from the monster while the other stop the monster full stop. After many battle, they become reluctant allies
Boom would have to get the rights just to make a comic that's only gonna sell about 5 to 10k units a issue
This actually makes sense. Super Megaforce didn't have to use pirate material for their rangers. I can see this working.
Super Megaforce could have easily mentioned in a line of dialogue that the powers had been designed by former Space Divatox in an episode paying homage to Turbo... But they didn't cuz they're lazy.
Megaforce and Super Megaforce are an exercise in pure unadulterated laziness. Cuz this was an anniversary season that actively didn't celebrate ANYTHING and spent way too much time on superficial inconsequential nonsense.
Because it was dumb of having an single PR season be split into two parts cause of Nickelodeon's stupid decision.
@@billymccrary2246 I agree with you on that part. There was no reason for Power Rangers seasons to ever be split for two years. It was dumb on Nickelodeon's part to do that. Hopefully, the rebooted Netflix Power Rangers seasons never do that.
I agree no Sentai is unadaptable, some just require more creativity than others. My idea for a LuPat adaption was similar to yours with Patoranger becoming S.P.D. S-Squad and LupinRanger becoming Time Force Vector Team, keeping the "VS" emblems. They would be two teams on what is supposed to be a joint operation between S.P.D. & Time Force hence the same Morphers and compatible Zords but the conflict would come from the two teams have slightly different objectives with Vector Team more focused on protecting the timeline by reclaiming the time lost weapons and treasures that the villains stole but S-Squad prioritizes protecting people in the present day. Both Ranger teams are trying to save lives and protect the world but it would be a sort of "little picture vs. big picture" conflict. I envisioned X as the liaison between the two teams who would try to deescalate the growing tension between the Ranger teams.
That's a solid idea. It would just take a little more work and money to pull off the time Force aspect with no footage

With Cosmic Fury apparently ending the MMPR continuity, you can do a “cop’s v. robbers” style show but not in the traditional sense.
Have Lupin Rangers be from another planet, the central villain being from their home world. They are both hunting for artifacts or power stones or whatever mcguffin you can come up with. They come to Earth, or an Earth-type planet that has had peace for decades and the Patrangers were their SPD type guardians who haven’t been active because of peace. We get 3 POV characters in the Patrangers who are the first rangers in Generations. The animosity between the two sets of rangers can stem from them disrupting peace on their planet.
The lupin rangers can be characters who come from a world where being a ranger is almost like a celebrity status thing which would explain the theatricality of their suits, but they still do what’s necessary to save their planet from evil.
Now that they've officially stopped doing Sentai adaptations, I just want *some* reference to LuPat in like... the Boom Comics (where they can get more Adult). Heck, maybe license it for a run of Boom Comics aimed at an older audience that keeps the cops and robbers angle (because Phantom Thieves are cool, just look at Persona 5) just so we can have a version of it in PR cannon. I mean, you'ed have more freedom in drawing the comic to change things than you do in re-using the footage of a japanese TV show. And like... all the other Sentai shows that didn't get adapted I feel I can live with not getting adapted. Like I don't need Power Rangers Trains Edition, or another one based on animals, or space, or cars... twice. King-Ohger looks neat but you know because the mecha are bugs the PR version would just be like... "Swarm Force" or something.... Donbrothers looks cool too but I don't mourn it as much as I mourn this one.
But hey, maybe if they do the comic and it sells well they can do other Boom Studios comics adapting other "unadaptable" Sentai shows into Power Rangers lore.

I was thinking if SPD and Lupin/Patranger were close to each other, Lupin/Pat could be a sequel to SPD with new villains which is the Gangler and knowing that Jack and Z were former street “thieves”, it could bring a purpose for them being the Lupinranger which is to uncover dark secrets from their past but this time Jack being the blue lupinranger. The Red Lupinranger could be a stranger who ask them to join forces and have his own goals. The gangler kill Doggie Cruger which led to a big war between SPD and Lupin, SPD gain new powers in becoming the Patranger.
why not have Blue Senturion as mentor to the Patranger team, since he was kind of a stickler for law and rules, and Phantom ranger as Mentor of Lupinranger team since their motif could be like a clandestine spy/special agent than a uniformed officer.
The initials would even make sense. GSP Galactic Senturion Patrol.
SPD is more popular. But your idea makes more sense. The first 2 knight armored rangers duking it out . Also the phantoms should be teenagers but the sentarions should be full grown adults.
You could say that the og phantom ranger tried to work with them. But after some disagreements he took some of the tech and then reused them for his team.
Honestly the whole idea with the lupin collection being part of the power rangers collection would make sense the only trouble is some of the parts of the collection look like they belong to the rangers/kamenrider series...some of them just look like random junk
I think this is a really great idea for adapting a Sentai series I really love. I think maintaining that the Morphers are part of the collection makes the most sense, and is fairly easy to explain. As for Tommy coming back, I agree that he shouldn't. If this would be set after Soul of the Dragon that was the end of his journey as a ranger. The whole story was about him passing the torch to his son. So bringing him back would undermine that. I love the idea of JJ being a main character
I say the adaption that they can make the phantom rangers theives, but they will get caught and sent to jail. But the phantom rangers get another chance by working together with the police rangers. Cause the the sentai series, the cops & theives worked together in that scene. They will start to help the cops and work together. That would be the season 1 finale.
I would replace the Cops and Robbers motifs with Fighter Pilots and Race Car Drivers motifs, split the Sentai into three seasons with ten episodes each, season one for the Sky Team with three of the episodes with Zord footage, season two for the Ground Team with six episodes of Zord footage and season three with both teams and their Ranger Acadamys Commander Adam Park as the Gold/Silver Ranger(s) with six episodes of Zord footage including the Ultrazord.
As long as they name Noel's american counterpart Johnathan Wild, after the thief taker general. perfect double agent name for cops and robbers
My personal adaptation of Lupin vs Pat would be a sequel to SPD. So, let's set this like 5 years, maybe more after SPD. Sky is head of SPD(as pointed out in Once a Ranger) and Jack is still off doing his own thing. The series starts off with SPD getting broken into and top secret ranger tech being stolen. The current B Squad(assuming there is still no A Squad) is 6 members. The evidence points towards 3 members of the squad, 3 members who also have marks against them and a past, similar backstories to Jack and Z who were recruited as a 2nd chance, and are also notorious for going against the book and not following protocol. These guys are arrested and later "escape." The Pat costumes are the current SPD design, new costumes for yellow, blue, and an unknown color at this time would need to be made for our outlaws for the pilot and flashbacks. When the new threat arrives, the criminal rangers(Lupin) show up, an uneasy alliance happens, the the remaining SPD rangers would go to arrest them, but the criminal rangers escape. It will later be revealed that the criminal rangers are the accused and escaped rangers previously on the squad, further solidifying to the SPD red ranger that they did in fact steal the ranger tech. Lupin X will appear 1st, forcing Sky back into the suit like Kruger before him as Patranger X. After this, it will be revealed that Jack is Lupin X and has been lead the criminal rangers(this would be revealed to the audience much sooner, just as SPD would have scenes with Sky as their mentor, the criminal rangers would have similar with Jack.) Then later in the series, it would be revealed that Jack was the true thief of the top secret tech, and he recruited the criminals because he knew the threat was coming and thought SPD wouldn't be able to properly handle it with their rules and protocols. Keep mind, I have seen very little of Pat vs Lupin, but I remember them stealing objects, this why Jack created his own team. Then much later on, before the finally, it is revealed that Jack and Sky are still friends and work together. Sky knows that there are some things SPD can not do without doing it illegally, so he kind of "dropped" the security codes and whatnot and just so happened to have a big training exercise going on, lowering the security of headquarters, the day the tech was stolen. He also set-up somehow to have our 3 accused not be present at the training exercise. He and Jack have been covertly sharing intel so Jack can pull his thefts and Sky send his rangers out just a bit too late so they can avoid capture, but also leaving Jack clueless enough with the when/where/how so it couldn't be traced back to him. The criminal rangers would turn out be a necessary measure as they work outside the law.

That's not a true rule. And it's been broken several times. Magna defender alone breaks that rule. He was ruthless and fought leo at least twice over like 7 episodes of being a borderline villain

Lupinrangers stealing the morphers will give the patrangers more of a reason to fight them because it's there property and we can have phantom ranger fight doggie crougar which is awesome
I remember in Power Rangers SPD, they had different Ranger Sqauds that use different costumes. Squad A looked like the ones from Power Rangers In Space (Megaranger), and Squad B is the main SPD crew (Dekaranger).
So what I was thinking is having the Patranger team be related to Space Patrol Delta, but have them be a new Ranger Squad on their own while also having tribute/homage references to Squads A and B of SPD. Have the Patranger be SPD Ranger Squad C in other words.
And the Lupinranger team, they could either, possibly have access to the Power Ranger Morphin Grid from on of Arsene's treasures. Or have them be escaped convicts with hearts in their side of vigilant justice, who broke out of SPD and then they steal SPD equipment that leads to them getting access to morph into the Lupinrangers via the power of said Morphin Grid.
I’m helping the algorithm. Bring back Cerina Vincent for your adaptation, and just use the storyline from her movie “Cabin Fever” as her backstory. It could explain why there’s no pink ranger lolz.
2 changes I'd make.
1) Tommy's cameo is at the beginning, being informed JJ is missing so fans don't expect big things from him
2) if you keep the main body part of the collection the Zords could be designed to work with that as the only explanation
This was kind conflict of what was intended to be Hexagon as far as two ranger teams with different philosophies. This actually connects with my theory that rangers of Eltar (including Phantom Ranger) believe in balance. Which is why they don't believe large organizations should run the world with Ranger technology.
I loved this video! I don't know a lot about Sentai but this was cool to see how it could work.
I definitely agree that you don’t NEED to have them be cops and robbers. Lupinranger could really be anything dark or mysterious. Patranger’s badges on the visors may be a bit more difficult to work around, but even then they could easily downplay the police motif in the actual story. My idea has always been similar to yours: the Lupinrangers are more like vigilantes and the Patrangers are more authoritarian.
Anything’s possible when you put your mind to it. And you don’t let go of your weapons, ever.

Maybe if Simon Bennett would just open his mind by changing the thief and police themes to magician and park warden themes (especially since he did change Mr. Garcia from a cop to a park warden), we could finally get a Lupinranger VS Patranger adaption called Power Rangers Hexagon.
A rescue team would be more fitting than park rangers. The Magician theme is spot on though.
I'm started to not like his woke ass. Watson Garcia would have been much better as a Cop. So what he hates Jen and Jack too? It's ridiculous. Those of 2 of my top favorite rangers ever

i would focus on the cops aspect but a different twist. i would make it have elements from the proposed hexagon but it would focus on "law" and the degree of it. For example, lupinranger Power Rangers V(victory)can focus on the side of people (vigilante law) and patoranger Power Rangers S(success) can follow the side of the law (follow the "rules" of law). Hence the term Dual Justice. The background of the story should be a mix of the beginning of time force episode 1 and the ending of the classic of new jack city except that nino brown escapes from judicial system. then the ice-t type character quit the force and recruit his own rangers that was wronged by the villain as well to prove the point of the the S-team (patoranger) that you have to do things at all cost.. however the judd nelson type character will be promoted to commissioner and recruit 3 rookies to apprehend the villain as well to keep the V-team (lupinrangers) in check. Hence the name of the show will be called Power Rangers VS: Dual Justice
While I do like most of the ideas here and think they would make for an amazing pr season I personally think they shouldn’t really rely on stuff that came from the comics simply just cause a lot of the audience (mainly the younger viewers) to feel like their missing quite a bit although It wouldn’t be bad to at least throw in some Easter eggs for readers and maybe introduce some of the ideas lightly to use in future seasons (provided it isn’t the last) still an amazing concept
I like the fact that you mentioned Mirinoi since LupinRanger VS PataRanger happens 20 years later from Gingaman, that's perfect.
If Neo - Saban didn't start the « Super » seasons, never skipped any Sentai season and started at 2010 with Samurai, the american adaptation of this Lupin VS Pat Sentai season would also match with Lost Galaxy being 20 years apart from each other.
Yeah, if Saban didn't do the whole "Super" seasons, well mostly Nickelodeon's decisions, and never skipped any Sentai season, the franchise would be prefect.

For my adaption, I just have it so both are their own law enforcement, but the Lupins are aliens on Earth doing things their way, while the Pats are a dedicated Earth-selected team trying uphold the way things are done on Earth, both have their points as to why doing it their way is right, but by end of the series, they're able to work and co-ordinate together.
As for the Lupin Collection, it's just random treasure that the head villains, Goldero (Dogranio) and Frex (Zamigo) are both after, thus they ally themselves with one of the groups, Goldero with the Lupins and Frex with with Pats, thus you get the occasional battle where Frex and the Pats are working together to fight against the Lupins.
But it's only when X comes along and shows both sides are caught up in a conflict he's been left out of (since he's the token good brother among him, Goldero, and Frex) that this allying ends and leads as part of the story to both Lupins & Pats working as one unit.

I like your idea for the storyline, DosmRider! Two ranger teams debating over what is the right way to be a Power Ranger sounds like a good challenge. Now, what would be a good title for this adaption?

Last year, I thought of a similar premise inspired by Marvel Civil War called Power Rangers: Striker Showdown
A confrontation between a team of alien Rangers and villains threatening the Earth leads a city being destroyed. The world is saved, but the public turns on the Rangers because of the casualties, leading to world governments outlawing Power Rangers and all teams not backed by legitimate organizations retiring or going into hiding. Some time later, an interdimensional monster gang, armed with a collection of items powered by the Morphin Grid, begins causing trouble in a certain city. A Global Peacekeeping Force, established to replace the need for Power Rangers, struggles to push the monsters back.
Researchers for the GPF discover Grid-powered items like the ones the monsters have, so a task force is organized by GPF higher-ups who secretly want Power Rangers to return. After creating morphers and gear, three officers are chosen to fight the monsters and restore the public's faith in Rangers as the Patrol Strikers.
On the other side, a secret benefactor claiming to be connected to the Collection's creator wants to see the gang destroyed and the Collection reunited. To help him, he gives three civilians who have been victimized by the monsters their own morphers and weapons to fight on his behalf, and offers them each one wish if they can gather the gang's Collection pieces. The agree, train, and begin operating as the Phantom Strikers/Outlaw Strikers(haven't settled on a name), fighting to take back their city.
Over the course of the story, both teams fight both the monsters and each other, but are forced to work together more against stronger monsters. On top of that, they all wind up becoming friends in their personal lives. The Patrol Strikers don't know their new friends are their targets, and the Phantoms/Outlaws try not to get attached to their rivals or get made. As both sides get to know each other personally and professionally, everyone begins to question whether their path to victory is the right one.
If they did that they could finally explain why the Phantom Ranger disappeared in PR In Space
He vanished so he can create his own team of rangers to follow and honor Zordons way of being rangers after he saw bunch of ranger teams being controlled by organisations for their own personal business and gain

This is a absolutely dope storyline. This is what kids and the world needs to hear but woke people don't want to coexist they want division. You could pitch this awesome story of unity healthy debate and diversity of thought and they would reject it

Lupinranger from outer space or dimension/alternative universe and Patranger as earth protector
I always thought they would adapt it by making Lupin superhero types who get called vigilantes. 2 scientists developed the morphers but split ways at the start.
Very lazy of them to say they can't adapt it. RPM was so different and as crazy as it was at least beetleborgs tried to think outside the box.
How about Hasbro change thief theme into Time Force? Because the helmet hat design on Lupinranger looks like Timeranger/Time Force arrow
Power Rangers GSPO vs Power Rangers Shadow Time Patrol (they steal GSPO technology to make new morpher to fit their zords)
Good Striker adapted into giant zord from future - Shadow Megaship ( female) and Gigant Patrol Zord (male)- 2 personalities and 2 gender
PR Shadow Time Patrol chased Gangler from 1800. Gangler managed to go to future and rangers secretly hunt Gangler who disguise as human without PR GSPO knowing.
Lupin Collection is repaint of previous Sentai weapons and morphers. Gangler steal these collection in Grid Battleforce to increase their power and adapt with future

The way I see it, one of the best ways to adapt LuPat is having the Lupinrangers be like deep-cover undercover members of SPD, looking to reclaim the collection because of the idea of a dirty cop helping the Patrangers, which are a different SPD branch. But that's just my opinion.
It's sound like a good idea to have a dual protagonist power rangers show.
Yeah each season in the backlog has hurdles that definitley make them harder to adapt than some of the stuff we've seen before. Zyuohger i'd say has the smallest hurdle with Kiramager in 2nd simply cause the grunts and motw in Kiramager are just soooo retro.
But for LupPat yeah if cops and robbers is a no go for fear of 'glorifying criminals' rebrand the lupin rangers...Saban rebranded the pirate themed rangers into just rangers with a pirate ship zord. What makes the Lupin Rangers thieves? They open saves and steal treasures.... cut that footage out? I'm still scratching my head as to why we see the full 3 chomps for the dino power keys in Dino Fury when they didn't include any sound effects so the first 2 chomps are totally pointless... thats what 5 seconds shaved off of each time a key is used that could of been used to add 5 seconds to a fight scene or development?
The biggest issue of course is explaining why we never see both car megazord and Sky megazord at the same time... ON a toy sale front they could jsut remove the transformation aspect for Good Striker lockingi t into 2 Patrol Striker and Sky striker only .
For the show however how do you explain it especialyl since i believe one or two episodes have goody swap sides mid fight. I mean I did think that maybe like you said the tech was all from 1 group but someone ran off with some... so the episode by episode swap could simply be a case of - its not recharged yet (hey you could pitch Electric Vehicles lol) so the Patorangers cant bust out their megazord while its still charging ... allowing the other team to swoop in with theirs... and vice versa... or it could draw power from say the grid itself and only 1 can be online at a time so first team to summon theirs gets to form the megazord because the 2nd version of the core piece is off line or something. Could be a bug in the code that they can't quite find a way around ?
INaturally the idea that 1 team just keeps hacking into and taking control of Good Striker wouldn't work to well (beef up your security rangers) so it'd have to be portrayed as 2 differnet zords But yeah i think that would be the hardest thing to work around explaining why they both jdon't just go megazord.
Anothe r aproach could be have one team have c hased the baddies to Earth/ or where ever and well in the source material they are interdimensional gang... so what if the Lupin team was like Alternate universe versions like have the 2 reds be the same person from 2 realities (maybe make the lupin ranger verison a girl) giving us 5 rangers essentially red (m/F) Blue Yellow Pink Green... and then later on the 6th ranger though trying to epxlain the double agent aspect would be odd... if going that route
I'd hate to see the cops'n'robbers go, but I don't hate the idea of competing ideologies. It's basically what Amit Bhaumik pitched for PR Hexagon, but I think it actually works better here. It'd be worth explaining why the Phantoms want to retrieve the collection pieces and the Police don't care (or want them destroyed). Meanwhile, the similarity of the morphers and mecha could just be that the Phantom Ranger was helping design the equipment *before* the ideological split. The only thing I think I could do without here is placing it on Mirinoi. It's an unnecessary complication that I think would play better if saved for a Kyuranger adaptation.

Also there is the Omega Ranger from SPD and the Omega Rangers form the comic.

I like your ideas for the adaptation, with the exception of calling the Phantom Rangers the Phantom Rangers because they are mentored by the Phantom Ranger. That would get kind of confusing unless you were going to reveal the identity on the show of the Phantom Ranger. I think they revealed it in a comic, but you have to film the show so that anyone who doesn't know about the other media can follow along without feeling lost. I would give the group a different name. Maybe even call them Rogue Rangers due to them not being affiliated with SPD.
So far from what i know the most recent comic (Universe #1) 's reveal was super unhelpful showing a earlier version of his suit and using a different name... so we gotta wait to find out how he went from what he was known as on whatever designated planet (sadly i don't think they took the time to name the planet) to the phantom ranger but at least they didn't just drop it all in issue 1.
but yeah I don't feel the names of the team is all that important in the long run easy to tweak names as long as the story is decent.
I would stick with Patranger being SPD but i'd set it 10-20 years before SPD. SPD has just arrived on earth and they're recruiting people to help bring earth more inline with the galactic community with Lupinranger being a rebellion against that idea of falling in line with what the rest of the galaxy is doing. I'd have Patranger Red be alluded to being Sky Tate's Dad but aside from that I'd have very little connection to any other series, until the end where a silhouetted dog-looking fellow arrives.

Now, two new generations of Power Rangers must inherit the powers of the Rangers before them, stored within the Morphin Collection in order to stop a new evil: the Ghostler Empire (Ghostler: A robotic monster that is half ghost, half alien). They are Power Rangers: Cops and Robbers.

Concerning Lupinranger VS Patranger, I love your idea, and it makes sense even to someone like me. As for potential other thoughts, part of me imagined Patranger being more of by the books, while Lupinranger being more of anti-hero/black ops. What you mentioned about JJ Oliver, and the items is amazing. As for the morphers, and mecha, perhaps they were generic devices connected to the grid as well, and was ultimately used the way they were, explaining why they are so similar (if this part makes sense.)

@Jonny F dino charge did it poorly. But it could have done it way better if the secord half didn't have so much filler. Even the first half had more filler then nessasary. At this point what power Rangers needs is a true fan show runner and some good witters would have either studied the shows lore and season or are also huge fans and know what is wrong with power rangers and what is right about power rangers

I would make the Phantom Ranger the basis of the 7 morphers and their zords, like he made 3 while working for SPD but leaves, with a half done morpher for the silver/gold in lock up. He then goes on to make the Phantom Morphers based on the old designs and their zords, hence same morphers different suits, different goals
Why not use the cancelled Hexagon series as the main story.
i was actually really hesitant with letting go of the cops vs robbers theme but this is such a brilliant idea i think it would be the perfect plot to rejuvinate the show for both young and older viewers. good job. only thing is i wouldnt call it SPD. too confusing.

I would have made the Lupins alien noblemen, at least, and probably the Pats part of a misguided SPD branch being tricked into fighting the Lupins by the real villain(a PR exclusive corrupt SPD commissioner). For the Pats’ American counterparts, I might’ve also established American exclusive blue and yellow rangers who were thrown under the bus by the commissioner in an elaborate plot to paint the Lupins as the bad guys.

So I kind of went the other way with my version what I did was I said it in a world of Operation Overdrive. I bring back Mr Hartford and his mission this time is to get these items that he created for future Ranger teams I call it the Hartford collection. So the villains from the Sentai they steal items of the collection and Mr Hartford has to create a new team of treasure Hunters that is the role that the lupinrangers will play actually be treasure Hunters called The Phantom Drive Rangers instead of Thieves. You also learned that mr. Hartford has also been working with the silver Guardians and they've developed their own new ranger technology that they've been experimenting with this will explain why both teams Morphers are the same because they were made by the same person mr. Hartford. When the silver Guardians find out that the collection has been stolen by a group of monsters that in the future will become the source of the DNA of the mutants they send their team of Rangers to apprehend the world monsters at the same time mr. Hartford is sending his team to go collect it they all bump heads because of their ideologies hence the reason why the silver Guardians Galactic Patrol wants to bring the monsters in while Phantom Rangers is more worried about the collection. Eventually Mr Hartford enlist the help of his son who was not only the Operation Overdrive red ranger but now a member of the silver Guardians. He gives him a custom Morpher which will allow him to morph into the X Gold Ranger which will allow him to act as a silver Guardian and the X Silver Ranger mode when he wants to team up with the treasure Hunters.

Blue Centurian went to Eltare and helped create all seven morphers but three are stolen by the three people who would adapt them into the Lupin ranger powers where the remaining four morphers are safe but then a mysterious third party steals the gold/silver morpher. The remaining three morphers are giving to the current Galactic Patrol Earth Division also the Galactic Patrol isn't tied to other of the same typed ranger teams of the past meaning no relation between them and Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, or S.P.D. The Lupin Rangers are thieves however they're similar to the Operation Overdrive Rangers meaning they are not stealing for themselves but are doing it for a greater cause in this case trying to stop the greater evil threat out there but their actions are criminal so the Galactic Patrol do have warrants out for the arrest of the Lupin Rangers. The Lupin Rangers are mentored by a new version of Alpha by the name of Alpha 9 and the Phantom Ranger their planets were destroyed by the new threat. The sixth ranger morpher is found by former Lost Galaxy Magna Defender Mike who becomes both the Gold Galatic Patrol Ranger and the Silver Lupin Ranger respectfully. He in turn in time brings the two teams of rangers together to fight this new threat. At the end of the series the Lupin Rangers and Mike give themselves up to the Galactic Patrol because in the end of it all they did commit crimes even if it was for the greater good but instead of getting life in prison they are instead given probation.
I would add that the morphers can change... Power Rangers is not afraid of changing morphers, or making new morphers.

One of the really disappointing things about LuPat was that they never truly became one team. I wanted Gold/Silver to be there to make one big “VS Sentai” that was an established status quo by the end of the series. A PR adaption would be a great opportunity to make that happen.
I’d have JJ’s goal be to reunite the team that was designed to be 7 from the start. We know from Forever Red that teams with secret identities work together all the time with public rangers. So clearly, the Phantom Ranger here is an outlier, maybe a bit of an extremist. So, SPD reached out to Phantom to lead the Mirinoi team, didn’t like the idea, and was able to take 3 morphers as he left the organization. JJ would then try to reconcile everyone’s differences to become one big PR team.
That's exactly the point of the versus idea. Why do they need to be one team it was better that they pretty much fought and disagreed until the end

I'd adapt Patrangers as a low ranking Earth based SPD squad about 10 years after the finale of SPD.
The Patrangers are the beat walkers, adapted as Earth Patrol Squad, the average cops rangers, while SPD Delta Squad deals with bigger threats and are capable of going into space to track criminals, while higher squads can track into deep space.
Lupins are an alien ranger team that are guardians of Lupia, tracking a powerful villain across space, who told their sacred relic, both teams fight as Earth Patrol sees Lupin as a threat to Earth.
It's revealed the villain captured the SWAT Flyers and Delta Squad in a pocket dimension, he can create shadows of anything within its pocket dimension, that's why Lupian guardians are after it as Delta helped Lupia repel an invasion.
Earth Patrol distract the villain as Guardians go into the pocket dimension and release the captives, during the fight their original zords are destroyed, forcing Commander Bridge to send out the Delta Runners just as Gold and Silver Lupia Guards arrive having been delayed by the villain's army of grunts.
Once free, the villain is still a threat, so they have to find a way to combine all zords to create the Galactic Guardian Ultrazord (SWAT Flyers become the gun) but the frequencies are too different and the Ultrazord falls apart after working one time.
Love it! It's like that Hexagon idea people always talk about or even Marvel's Civil War. I've always thought the Lupins could just as easily be vigilantes like Batman or team Arrow. Hell they look more like magicians than thieves anyway. 10/10 would love a show on Mirinoi or just not in Earth or some alternate universe.

Tommy could be dead, that's what I did with my LuPat adaption (pre-Soul of the Dragon/SNS and is a page out of Hexagon's book). The Patranger's are still more organized, but under Lightspeed instead where Jason is kind of a rouge. Although structural morality was not a side I was going into. Everyone kinda knows Yellow is Jason's daughter from the getgo. There's already some tough love by the time X (Yellow's brother) shows up being evil to start), team-up central (Zyuohgers [alt Wild Force basically], Mystic Knights 2.0 [twice, one with core 4/Buttercup/tech uses Silver power as he was the intended user of the powers-which were altered; second with just Pink ala the Poisy Show for many reasons], Kyuranger) , and basically the endgame

Here is a concept! We don’t have a C or D Squad in Power Rangers SPD, all we see is B for many reasons, and A Squad for some arc down the road.
I would have the LupinRangers be Vigilantes or SPD Rejects because of various reasons. The PatronRangers are SPD Cadets that successfully made it through training. Maybe a Friend did make it plus rejected Friend who didn’t make the cut.
It could reference Beast Morphers as Roxie and Blaze never became the Red and Yellow Rangers of Grid-Battle Force. Make them both good guys but It’s just one team will tackle things one way then the other ones.
Why SPD and Vigilante rejects?! LupinRangers have a V in their icon badge, and the PatronRangers have a Police badge with an S as part of it’s design.
Hasbro already did implant new things into old lore once with this show, and they can do it again. They’re not doing it because They don’t know how to do it right and scared that the whole series might be canceled off the Air (Globally except the US) and ruin the franchise. SPD is practically already Dark enough. Make it in the same or a little after time frame of Soul of the Dragon or something.
I don't have any ideas for the script of a possible Lupat adaptation, but I think I at least came up with a cool title.
Assuming the motif of cops and robbers is kept, I would go with Power Rangers Phantom Thieves Vs Power Rangers Patrol Troop. The idea here being that both names for the teams could be abbreviated as "P.T" playing with the idea of them being different sides of the same coin.

I get that you think it’s a close minded idea, but tbh, it needs to be. We can’t simply just be open to every idea when it comes to power rangers. Sentai has things that, logically, without a shadow of doubt, would be too out there for its American counterpart. Sentai has its own ideas, and Power Rangers has theirs. When it comes to adaptions, we need to look at our options, see what realistically looks profitable for the brand, and go from there with our own stories. Zenkaiger doesn’t have anything, other than a Gold Megaforce/Twokaiser ranger, that Hasbro can use for an adaption that wouldn’t look too odd for a mainstream audience.
Pretty sure the point Dosm was making was to go "Nope can't be adatped" is to close minded... cause honestly it can be... is it a good idea to adapt- does it make more sense to choose it before another - thats another question all together. If you minimize the thief aspects i see no issues... after all we've seen teams get adapted and ditch their themes before.
mmpr S3 shook up the zord order- and made the suits belong to alien characters who took a backseat to the rangers we knew - likely cause the series was jsut way to goofy - and the fact that changing up the suits at the time was just unthinkable.
Sentai tends to be set more in stand alone ancient lore... while PR tries to be set in a more modern setting with crazy stuff being aliens and whatnot. heck they turned a nature themed series into a space one... made a tech one space just because of what 1 item in the series?
SO yes while the cops/robbers angle likely wouldn't go over very well if we changed them to a more vigilante type team- think batman, Green Arrow, etc... well thats a whole new spin... they aren't going around trying to steal stuff then its good. And you could easily cut out footage of them opening the safes yeah you'd need to develop a new reason for them to be distrusting of each other but hey it could work. The hardest part is probably explaining the fact that the main chunk of the megazord seems to swap sides so frequently.
I think it depends on the case. You’re right about Zenkaiger, I think that would be too much of an uphill battle in a lot of ways.
I more so get annoyed when a season like Lupat or Toqger is ruled out for reasons I think could be easily fixed or changed. You don’t have to make them cops and robbers. We’ve had series where we barley used the Sentai theme. This is a franchise where we turned Kakuranger into alien fish people.
