- The EU4 extended timeline mod lets you play from any date between 2 and 2022 ! You HAVE to try this EU4 mod! Today, we look at the Norman conquest in 1066 - a popular CK3 start date. William the conqueror is trying to convince England to become a junior partner in a Personal Union... we also have to contend with the EU4 Norway who, under harald hadrada, is trying to do the same thing!

I really enjoy when you talk about history on the side! Especially because I don't know that much about the time EU4 takes place and before! So keep on going☺️
I also agree but may i ask, where is tom? I really liked his short history videos on this channel, basically what we are asking laith to do lmao
@Hoan Tran Thu i see, i have missed that one, thanks
The historical facts were a highlight of the video would love to see more
1066 was everyone’s favourite date in GCSE history and the only date students remembered. I enjoy your historical talks Laith, you should do more eu4 timeline videos that you personally know. Personally I’m a big fan of 19th century Europe
O EIGHT HUNDRED DOUBLE O
@@acey457 ah, a man of culture
In Northern Ireland 1066 and the Normans are pre-GCSE history
GCSE?
@@David-bh7hs UK's highest required education
Keep the historical talks on, they're quite enjoyable!
I loved the historical talk. History got me into EU4 so I would enjoy for it to continue.
13:55 I'm a big history fan, and that's what made me fall in love with EU4. So please, add more history stuff in the videos.
I'd like to see you roleplay forming the mughals the historical way
With all due respect Laith, this already exists. It's called Crusader Kings.
Eu4 and ck are fundamentally different the point of this mod is to experience the ck starting date with the style of eu4
Nah, next you’ll tell me there’s a WW2 game or something - “EU4 1939”.
Very much appreciate the historical tidbits, keep up the fantastic content! A travel channel/series does sound quite interesting, just keep good ol' rona in mind.
Love the historical commentary! Very interesting and supplements the gameplay well in my opinion.
One of the cool things you could do: defend Pavia in 1359 from the Visconti onslaught and restore the Communes and the Lombard League to northern Italy
This time on “History with Laith”… he actually manages to win? Am I on the right channel?
Stumbled upon this vid by accident, watched the whole thing. Loved the historical commentary and the fact you have a set of fav 11-12 century monarchs lol Gotta read up on Roger II now.
Also as a Setbian, would love to see a Slavic campaign!
A history centric travel vlog canal ? Yes please !
And the name of the canal could be Laith on the way :'D

"I have so many questions, most of whom involve the French."
Spoke like a true English king.
More history in videos! It is extremely interesting to learn some history while watching your videos! Would even so far as saying maybe make a secondary series touching upon the history of areas and all that.
Honestly history talks about what you're playing is fun as hell. Please keep doing them
I pretty much never comment, but here I just wanna let you know, that I really love your history inputs and even these mods where we can explore a bit more about that part of history. Also if you start exploring some historical monuments in real life I will be there to watch it :)
I'm a big lover of history, so I always love hearing the tidbits you have to share. You have such a wide breadth of historical knowledge about a lot of random locations, so it's great to hear something that I wasn't aware of whenever you play a random nation.
The history followed by gameplay are such a cool mixture. Loved the video!
Loved this one; my two favorite RUclips topics combined, SocialStreamer and historical lessons! Especially fun since I’m not focused on English history.
I love history and geography and eu4 has taught me both, but listening to you talk about specific historic events is super fun and its gameplay + engaging so more!
I wish I could upvote this video so many more times just as a result of the youtube information at 26:10 alone. RUclips tends to be most enjoyable when the youtuber is inspired or enjoying the production of their own content. Even though it would be nice to see some of your one offs turned into longer series or even two-parters, the fact that you and your editor seem to take your own level of joy from your content makes it so easy to watch and why I almost always watch your releases when they come up in my feed.
I love hearing about your historical knowledge, it gives so much context to what's going on. Edutainment :)
Definitely like the historical rants. Personally I'm a big fan of the various scenarios you showcase as they get me to poke around and find some fun campaigns.
Absolutely keep going with the history stuff!
I watch your videos on my second screen while playing eu4 myself too, so I'm more focused on your commentary than what you're actually doing
Interesting historical facts are always welcome :)
I really enjoy your historical comments :)
would love to see more
ive been really enjoying your vids. you have a very engaging personality due to your genuine enthusiasm. i love the history tidbits as well :)
I love the additional history commentary and a vlog channel would be very cool, i'm all here for it
Vlogging channel, yes please. Historical runs going over the history as you play, another yes. Then finally, playing as your favorite rulers through history, that sounds like a series of endless fun.
The historical commentary is awesome, keep up doing them
I NEED more history with Laith. It gives me insights on stuff i don't even know about. Love your explaining/gameplay.
Definitely don’t stop the history rambling. Your enthusiasm for history is part of what makes your channel so great!
All of your ideas are a welcoming addition 😊 greetings from 🇩🇪
I love the historical tidbits thrown in, please keep them up!
love the historical facts you talk about adds alot to the video
I like you talking about history during videos. It teaches me new things, and is also very interesting.
Laith we can all see the happiness and excitement in your face at the idea of doing more outright history based content, we love your EU4 content but we’d love to see that too!
I would absolutely love to watch you talk about the periods of history you play, I find it incredibly interesting and entertaining!
That would be an interesting video to see; Morocco vassaling England, the history that could of been, doing Alternate History of "What If" in big situations have always been fun to watch. I do enjoy videos that get 3 parts as it just makes the gameplay look neat; all those opms into great nations you did was the main thing that drew me to your channel
Historical content is a big yes for me. Have my sub in anticipation.
Also with the ravaging of the north it can still be seen a little bit with tree cover as well with a significant amount of newer and lack tree across the North compared to the South (although that might be conformation bias)
The historical facts are amazing, keep it up
It's nice that you explain the history as well
historical addition is really good, love your videos :)
Battle of Hastings 1066 is the famous battle where the last anglo-saxon king of england Harold Godwinson died and William duke of Normandy became known as William the conqueror. A few days later William got crowded king of england.
Your little historical excerpts are great. Whether you stick to doing them just within these ET videos, or if you wanna start a Laith History thing, I'd gladly watch both.
Wow, you really nailed the pronunciation of Picardie, that was beautiful, you don't often hear non french youtubers able to say french words this well
Personally I really enjoy u talking about history in between the gameplay so pls keep it up!
Keep up with the history please. A series playing your favorite kings sounds fun. Though please do CK3 for the ones in time period
History is great
Laith should do forming the empire of France 900 years early as Napoleon
24:46 the Hautevilles’ policies also triggered something of a renaissance in southern italy, which flourished under Fredrick II, who came from a Hohenstaufen father and an Hauteville mother, and loved the region so much that he planned for his universal empire to be governed from either Naples or Sicily. He also founded the “Federico II” University of Naples, the third oldest university in Italy and sixth globally. Safe to say the Hauteville had some chad genes
His universal what now
I absolutely LOVE the little historical interjections, Laith. I want to see more of it
I don't know ybout you guys, bur I absolutely love the history tid bits and would be very happy to see more of Laiths Lessions
loved the history man i would definitely watch the history vlog
50/50 game and history split seems perfect for this video format
great video!
Having not only the gameplay but also the history rant is just a perfect duo.
Definitely want to see a Charlemagne conquest ! I really like this kind of video when you talk about history
I really liked your explanation of the history.
I like the historical ramblings, it freshens up the Eu4 gameplay
I liked how you were talking about history on the side good video
you should do more history themed videos like this with eu4, it was really interesting!
I personally really enjoy the history part, it gives the video/game play a lot more context and it's just really interesting
I love the rambling about history it's top tier
laith, just hearing your voice is a 8/10 history facts make it a 10/10
Ι love these historical "lessons". Keep doing them
The historical aspect is what draws me to the game so of course they go hand in hand! Exploring the history makes it so much more fun in my opinion.
Now you need to play CK3 but it’s 1444.
I keep geeking out when you talk history because my MA is in music history and literature, so I have extensive knowledge of minute going ons of history as it affected where musicians travelled, who wrote and where, etc.....especially how many musical cultures died out as a result of crusades against the Cathars....Aquitaine....Invasions of Milan......
I really like these historical talks Laith
Love your rumbling about historical things
More history! I would be great to see history vlogs!
I would definitely watch a combo, game / history video. Example: A EU4 or CK3 video focused on Stonehenge with a mid video visit to Stonehenge
The count of Flanders was particularly powerful in that time, so it makes sense to have that rival.
Keep the historical commentary. It’s great :)
Laith trying not to play Extended TImeline (impossible challenge)
Battle of Clontarf in 1014 was a major battle in Irish history between the High King of Ireland Brian Boru against Norse-Irish alliance.
this was fun! Do more!
What William did to Northern England was called the Harrying of the North, during the Winter of 1069-70.
Id love to see you talk more about history!
The battle of picardie where general laith used the innovative long bow to defeat the french, the french enforce peaxe and how you defeated them against all odds is as historical as it can get
IM BEGGING you please make a video about the anarchy it sounds so intresting and im too lazy to go and read about it on wikipedia
This video made me realize that EU4 needs a "switch junior and senior partners" button for personal unions
Definitely tell MORE historical stories! As much as possible
I really enjoy the historical discussion.
History with Laith sounds like such a great idea!
history travel is one of my fav toutube genres tbh, can easily watch 30+ min videos. you should seriously make a channel
Honestly Laith, I don't even really play EU4 anymore, but I still watch your channel every day because you're a solid RUclipsr, so please, start another channel!
I'm enjoying a bit of history facts mixed in.
If you were to start a side channel talking about this kind of historical stuff i would love it and definitely watch it this was really fun
I'm a fan of the historical ramblings, it's interesting :)
Finally some more Extended Timeline
I love your historical facts as I love history myself
Really do go for the history part!
I'd love a history/travel channel or series.
I loved the history talks
The historical talks are great. I have a lot of knowledge of American History due to being an American so learning about European history is fascinating to me. Keep up the good work Laith!
I love the historical additions they are half the reason I watch
My birthday was today, watching Laith suffer makes this regular day to me more fun
