Thank-you!!! I've been backpacking for 40+ years, I've got all kinds of the latest and lightest gear. I already own the Sea To Summit Ultra Light Air Mattress for backpacking and love it. So then I got a Sea To Summit Base Camp SI mat for the car and was immediately stymied by the valve when I tried to roll it up! It shows a counter-clockwise arrow, and it says, "twist". Well, I tried turning it counter-clockwise, I tried twisting the base and knew that couldn't be right. Then I tried to twist the one above and that didn't do anything. I was going to return this mat for a refund because there was no way I was going to roll and roll and roll and roll and have the air keep coming back into the mat! Argggg! I looked for RUclips videos on how to use this SeaToSummit valve, and it was like a "secret". Everyone said what the valve could do but nobody including SeaToSummit would actually show how it's done. In less than 2 minutes you solved everything. Flip It Over !!! Omg, really??? Ok, ok, ok, I got it. Thank-you!

You are my hero this afternoon!!! I was trying to figure out how to deflate it and it just kept airing back up, after searching the internet for an hour your video appeared like magic:) that little valve labeled “twist” should say flip for Pete’s sake lol anyway thank you soooo much!!!
My thoughts! I was trying to twist it and I thought come on I can't be this incompetent, I'm twisting it and nothing is happening! I got worried that I was going to break some thing so I'm glad I saw this video. It is definitely a flip, not a twist!!

Thank you for posting this video. You may have saved my vacation. Couldn’t figure out how to deflate this thing put it back in his bag so I could fly home with it in my suitcase. Agree with other commenters. This should say flip. Especially since when you flip it, it takes both hands to get it into the hole. Not intuitive at all

Thank you. The directions are not that clear to me when it comes to the deflate step. I understood everything else but the deflate part specifically said "twist" the plug. I didn't guess it meant to flip it over. Thanks again.
Thank you for this video! I saw it after I got most of the air out by adjuster then cap it off roll some more pushing the adjuster then cap it off and do that till it’s able to pack. In the inflate geez I waited like 20 min maybe more and it wasn’t full to my liking so I blew more in 🤣 cuz I’m impatient. 🤷🏻♂️
OMG! I was looking for THIS video. It says "twist" on that middle piece and i thought it meant "twist in place" which was impossible to do because its attached. then i thought.. maybe you have to cut it in order to twist it. I didnt realize it meant twist as in "flip to the other side". thanks!!
Wouldnt call it a “easy” deflate actually take some time and you have to really deflate it manually.but excellent instructions on how to initiate the deflation process.
The women’s model is thicker around the hip area… I’d say it averages about 3” thick. I use mine on top of a canvas cot, but I have used it directly on the floor and it makes a world of difference.
The end of the video is fals. You do not open that valve all the way it will literally initiate the inflation process again.. why on earth would you say to do that nonsense?? 👎
If you put it back into the case and you open the valve, how in the heck would it inflate when there’s literally no room for it to do that? I just demonstrated on video that it does not reinflate, so you can 👎🏻 all you want, but it doesn’t change facts. I do it this way every time and it works for me. You do you, boo.
It literally tells you that it will immediately inflate again if you open the valves. And it literally started inflating immediately. They literally tell you to quickly close the valves, where on earth does it tell you to open up the valves to “let out moisture” negative that is literally how it inflates.
@@jakeblack5970Again, if you put it back IN THE CASE it CANNOT physically reinflate. And again, I made a video showing/proving it does not reinflate. If you do not put it in the case and open the valve, then yes it will obviously reinflate. That is not what I’m doing. You can deflate your camping mat any way you please. You can leave it closed and grow mold all the live long day. But you’re not going to gaslight me.

No one seems to read the manual: "Twist the valve tab so the word DEFLATE is visible and plug into opening."
I did that! It says "Twist" it should say "Flip"!!?

You just fold it in half. It will be long but half as wide…. start rolling towards the valve. I had to do it twice to get all the air out
