Mr. Dumble gets to live on through his amplifiers and master players such as yourself, Mr. Ford. What a beautiful thought. Love to you both.

When someone says Dumble, that blonde one is what I immediately think of. It's also no coincidence that Robben Ford and that blonde Dumble is also what I think of whenever "great tone" is mentioned. It's amazing how much influence he's had on a giant global community of musicians and manufacturers. Rest in peace Alexander Dumble.

Wonderful tribute to your friend. Alexander must have been a beautiful soul, and very dedicated to his craft. You can hear his passion in his amplifiers, and they're such wonderful conduits for their owners' talents, as well.

    When did you acquire it?
What was the process of him tuning it to your playing? How long did those adjustments take? Did he borrow your guitar to do it?
How long did it take for him to build it?
How many records has it been featured on?
Whats your favorite recorded example of the amplifiers potential?
How crucial is the dumblator ? effects loop break out box?
What are the differences between the black one and the blond?
How many years apart were the two builds?
Who’s Dumble did you play and where before receiving the newly named Alexander? Was it Larry’s? Lowell George? Lindley? Cooder? Kaisers? We have questions!
A touching video Robben thank you.

Eloquently spoken and Alex clearly meant a lot to you. A lovely tribute spoken from the heart.
May I request that you could pen a tune similar to the opening of Life Song with the guitar straight into the dumble amplifier? Possible titled Mr Dumble or simply Alex? Xx

What a wonderful story. Robben, you’re an inspiration to many. I was fortunate to have played through your amp at an event in the summer of 2021 in Tennessee. Playing through “the” Dumble with Robben Ford standing next to me was somewhat intimidating. You were awesome to allow some of us at the event to have a crack at it. Sorry for the loss of your friend. Namaste

I tried an Overdrive Special at a shop in Los Angeles back in '87. The amp's owner just wanted to show the amp off, a head and cab. He was a very wealthy collector and didn't want to sell it. He just wanted to show it off. I plugged an LP Standard into it and was blown away. I couldn't believe the clarity, the tone, and the feel. I didn't even understand what I was hearing. It was unlike any amp I've ever played. I've since tried some excellent amps in the ballpark, but they never hit a home run like this amp. These amps are works of art and cherished for a reason.

RIP, Mr. Dumble. Thank you for bringing beautiful sounds into this world. In the 4th grade, Sister Maria Goretti told me that if I said a prayer to God, he would hear it. But, if I sang it, the angels would multiply it seven times. Robben, I saw you jamming with a local Boulder band in the late 70's at Naropa. I didn't know who you were then, but you were definitely multiplying seven times. Wave on, Robben. Wave on, Alexander.

He was a true amp genius and although I have never had the pleasure of playing through a real Dumble and probably never will get the chance, I have a great clone which I am sure fall short of the real thing, but nevertheless is my favorite amp I have ever played through. I love you music, you playing Mr. Ford and you are a class act through and through. Wonderful tribute and we can feel how truly heartfelt it was! Good bless you and your music!

Made me cry. I sent my Love and prayer… because you’re right, I could be good.
On the other topic… Amps are special, like people. As with a great guitar, you can develop a relationship that just might bring out the best in both of you. When you bring up the volume and your guitar and amp start to interact in a very resonant way… things blossom that might never have found life, without the three of you ever coming together.

Tribute to Big Al nice one Robben
Too bad he kind of let himself go through the years that I was a little too late to try to get back on the track sadly.
I like looking at some guitar forums when people just sit there and bitch about the price of a Dumble and say they're garbage.
Then talk about how they can make one just as good but they don't realize what went into each one that made them special.
There's a reason why they're not just off the shelf items made in bulk.
But the reason They carried such a price tag and why only so many were lucky enough to have one made for them

Awsome just an amazing sound I hope one day I can play through one for 5 minutes, then I have that sound I can chase for the rest of my life cause I just know it's what I'm hearing in my head all these years . I've never been satisfied with every rig I've put together ever , sounds funny but an old ts9 tube screamer I had through a peavey classic chorus with a California strat I had with tex mex trio pickups almost did it but not quite . Lol weird combo but that thing come so close to a s.r.v sound it was crazy

I guess the last time yall got to speak was after you left Littleton Colorado after letting Bludo copy this amp..
I know this the last time I spoke to him He was rather upset about those that stole his work.
Matter of fact I sent him a layout and voltage chart of one I owned and asked if that was anywhere close to what he had built for Ej knowing full well in advance Erics amp had caught fire in 96 and never sounded the same because Alex rebuilt the boards and replaced the transformer and when he did out went Erics voicing. Now for the untrained eye or ear that might fly but not when I was in #005 myself on the bench in Austin before it was shipped off for the last time...Alex used dark purple epoxy in #005 and by the time Bludo got the amp all the boards and transformer were replaced..
Hmm wouldnt that make it something else not actually Ejs voicing anymore..?
Yea that always sat wrong with me as unethical which it is.....You know what makes me laugh in 2022 ? Hypocrites
