Thank you for your introduction to our products and unbiased review!! While we have standard mounting options for our cast magnetic frag rocks, and officially only rate to hold strong to half inch , we can add extra magnets at cost if requested or retrofit any of our designs with our premium 2 inch suction cups . ! great video !
Thank you for the great products! It'd be interesting too if in the future you may produce larger mat that could go on the back wall with multiple frag holders that's more flat against the back. 😉
@@InappropriateReefer while the 5 hole only has one magnet we can insert two into it however the 10 holed branch has two internal and is a larger footprint
That 45 degree angle cut tip is gold. I mix Kalk in my ATO and at times it would clog up and I'm having to blow on the tube to unblock..so will try this tip!!
House of Tropicals is also my go to fish store in the area as I find it to be a great well rounded store. It also keeps my toddler busy for a while to look at everything while i purchase something ridiculous for our tank haha.
Check calcium!!! Big clams lower calcium quickly, a week after i added mine i noticed stn on few of mine smaller sps plugs. Checked calcium and it was lowered by 50 within a week. All dosing was the same for months and tank was stable for long time. It caught me rather offguard that it dropped so much so quickly. Raised calcium over a week and most stn tissue grew back/grew over
Going through the same dreaded Vermetid issues after introducing my giant blue maxima! 🤕 nice to see you can still have success even with these horrible pests!
Great video. Like the nice long update. The tank looks great. That clam is crazy. Be sure to watch the alk/CA consumption if the claim settles in it will really start to suck up those elements quick. BTW you son is getting so big. He is at a fun age.
I had a clam for 10 years he was massive growth you put him on the bottom of a 5-gallon bucket he was from one side to the other I ended up selling him for a hundred bucks but he was huge and every now and then he would close up and squirt water out of the tank and hit my metal halide thank God it didn't blow up
@@InappropriateReefer yes it was I had them for 10 years and he was huge I kind of needed the money at the time the guy at the pet store lost his mind when he seen the claim he didn't have the money but he pulled it out of the register lol 😆 😂
If you only have Zoas on that rock that you want to keep. Manually remove as many vermited snails as you can, make sure to get the curly part at the base. Do a 50/50 hydrogen peroxide (3% $1 brown bottle) tank water mix. Dip the rock for 1 minute no longer. Zoas will reopen in a day or so, Xenia, vermited etc will not.
Generally the larger the surface area the stronger the magnet is . With magnet price being so expensive and constantly rising we try to offer a top notch product at an affordable price which is why we use our rating and size magnets and rate them officially to half inch glass . While you can sandwich more magnets on the outside of the glass it doesn’t necessarily double the pull strength but it can help !!
I love you vids! No criticism just some advice, I would recommend getting the euphyllia to close up more before removing from the tank so there is less tissue just kinda flopping around, it can get damaged and cause more problems. Keep up the great content!
@@InappropriateReefer Thats good. I had a clam in a previous tank and the wrasses picked at to the point it stayed receded in its shell and eventually dies. Now I also had a Blue Jaw Trigger in that tank. I never caught the trigger but I suspect he nipped at the clamm as well. My 6-line was the main culprit.
Sadly passed away a few years back after keeping him for a year or so; Frogfish seems to mysteriously die around the one year mark (bad diet? fatty liver), Mochi unfortunately followed the same fate, thought he'd fare better since his diet was mainly damsels and gut loaded ghost shrimps, not freshwater fish.
Dont kill it this time I have a feeling that the small ones die because you have to feed them. If the clam is small you gotta feed it food 2 times a week I believe. A big clam feeds more out of the water so they don’t need to be fed.
I'm thinking it may have been the low pH my tank was having (was 7.8 - 8, now it sits around 8.25 - 8.45) since I did dose phyto almost every day while I was trying to keep those small clams. I'm sure there are other factors at played too, though my guess is that the low pH and lack of stability really did a number on the small Maximas. 😢 Hope these hardier Derasas (and maybe future Squamosas) will live long and prosper!
I hate to see say it but I would ditch that entire zoa rock if it has Vermetid snails. Better to get rid of one rock than trying to deal with an infestation of your entire reef structure.
All of these different options to clear the water dosing ect is this because these home tanks are nothing compared to the ocean and that’s why the ocean just works with nothing needed to be maintained
The smaller Maximas died a few weeks in, I suspect it's the tank's constant low pH (tank was around 7.8 - 8 at that time; now a days it's around 8.25 - 8.45); the larger one I gave away pretty quickly after seeing how the smaller ones did not do well. The remaining Derasa is growing well, probably because they come from more unstable water so a bit more tolerant to swings.
Yay he's back!!!
Lol Just Like Daddy 😁
Nooo, maybe 1/3
Gave me a good laugh 😄 good to See you Guys having fun and a good time 🙂

Looking good my friend! Glad to see you and the family doing well!
Love the living wall. Looks beautiful and a great way to add more corals!
I love how you thought a paper towel was going to help you lol
I would nice to have local reefers in my area to share giveway.Thats a big plus in this hobby.
looking great!!!
That clam is no joke! Look at that thing! Glad to see the update and always enjoy seeing the reef!
Thank you! 😎
I love how your tank has evolved, it's looking really good
Thanks for the tip on cutting the dosing line at a angle. It really does work!!
Welcome back! Your tank looks absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you! Good to be back once in awhile
That clam is massssssivvveeeee!
Who is this guy!? 😉👍
Tanks looking awesome nice to see an update from you! 🙌😁
Made my day, you’re back! So good to see you again. 👍💪
Omg YESSS a video from my favorite person. I am soooooo gonns enjoy watching this. And to top it off a long video.
That new clam from the top down view is insane!!!
Great tank update! That Clam is massive!
Awesome update! I like those single racks you are mounting on the back. Also that's a perfect spot for that clam, looks great!
Whatever that sps is that is purple and green on the right of the top rock is a stunner. I can’t take my eyes of it when it’s in frame.
Wow what a great find. 👍

So in love with this tank.

Thanks for the dosing tube tip! I just got my first dozer (1 channel) and I’m glad I now know that info :)

Nice Big Clam! Nice update. Maybe start recording local Reefer’s reef for content 🤷🏻♂️😁

Osam video very interesting and well address.
Holy geez man how many active tanks do you have? I always love your content, reef on!
Amazing!

Awesome 🤪
Missed you bro!
I’ve been dosing Seachem iodine levels every other day, and my corals I swear are looking and growing better :)

Tank look gd bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!!
Wait what only $60 for that giant amazing clam?! Wow that is dirt cheap.
Just get a stronger magnet for the back glass. I had to do the same thing.
Three very hardest
Man, you beat me to the clam post like a min, I was so pissed. No hating, but I wish I got them lol.
Sorry man! I think it was around 2am, my son woke me up and just then I saw a new post on WAMAS... 😝
You should get a bunch of Scissortail dart fish, or Zebra dart fish for a cool shoaling fish that won’t fight each other :)
Looking into them, thanks for the recommendations!
Are the "dry-side" magnets on the Aqua Rocks sealed? Can the be used in tank - say in the overflow?
Good question - sorry I am not sure, best to reach out to them directly, they are very responsive on social!

I grew up going there. Was about 20 minutes from my house
Can you put a bigger magnet on the outside to increase strength for the frag holder that is "loose"?
Good idea, I can test this

1/3 that's not bad! hahahaha
That golden rod is growing weird 0_0
I was thinking the same 0_o
Yeah it's growing back into the rock... trying to get away from the light? Trying to catch certain flow?

Solid advice, thank you Nathan!
Having euphyllia out of water is prob one of my biggest fears
What's that purple looking bounce mushroom towards the back left of the tank by the goni?
That one has no name, just a random teal / purple mushroom I found at a LFS 😉 We've been jokingly calling it the "Oscar (Dumpster) Bounce"
Did you say your tangs eat Red Cassia algae? Any more info on that? Thanks!
Have you had issues with the wrasse(s) picking at the clam??
Never had issue with wrasse picking at clams in my tanks up to this point 👍

Are you using a gimbal on your camera?
What’s up everyone
Where was that frog fish at

What happened to the pipe fish you got awhile back
I think those athenas are also called stratocasters
Dont kill it this time

@@InappropriateReefer 👍 also what is that zoa that’s brown with a green edge 1:11 the ones on the left on the front

I am tempted to just pull some Zoa frags off and ditch the rock. Besides Vermetid Snails, the rock also has a decent number of tiny Xenia...
👍👍👍
where did the rabbitfish go
Rehomed to Lynn's awhile back after discovering that he picked at Euphyllias in my tank
Does anyone know that zoa that’s brown with a green edge 1:11 the ones on the left on the front I also got it but I don’t know the name
Space Monsters perhaps? Or Eagle Eye?

Was that hard tails in the tank at the fish store?
Yep at a local fish store

I’d like to know how you dose iodine!
A few drops each day by hand, I got some in an amber dropped bottle.
