Certainly something I’m going to get into , off too the LFS in a few weeks to pick up one or two different species for a medium level Reefer but never kept clams. Am I right in thinking you need to feed them phytoplankton like spot feed?
Clam Mania are not recommended. They completely ignored my daughter and I when we wanted to purchase as Reefapalooza Florida. When I reached out, they replied with ai generated excuses. Not professional and won’t accept ownership.
I’m sorry you had a poor experience but having seen John at several RAP I know his booth is ALWAYS slammed and he does his best to help everyone. I have several of his clams and have had for years now. They were healthy from day one and thriving in my tank. I hope you can visit his auctions and you and your daughter can find a gem (don’t worry the ship well but take your time acclimating them). 🙏🏻
Glad you had a better experience. You know him by name so I’m sure you received preferential treatment. He clearly looked at us and kept helping new people arriving to his area. I will never purchase anything from him and will continue to air my bad experience with him.
Quite embarrassing actually. Daughter had tears in her eyes with the blatant disrespect. The fact that he took no ownership after reaching tells me everything I needed to know.
