I turn on all my recorders, visual and audio, and honk my horn a few times. I line everything up in post using the audio peaks. I have a video on this channel called "Multicam" explaining it in more detail if you want to know more. ruclips.net/video/8bbV3Dliyvg/видео.html
REALLY GOOD video! I've got the Insta 360 X3, and am planning on picking up the Cardo comms to record my snowmobiling stuff in the Winter, as well as a few other things. I've got a miniscule YT channel myself. I've got a lot of questions about recording with Cardo and the X 3 (if that's even possible, or maybe I need to get the X 4, I don't know). I'd love to talk with you if you'd be willing to, so that I cold pick your brain about this whole thing, as your application is very similar to what I want to do, with the exception of the types of vehicles that we're using.
Actually it’s simple. The Cardo will not record to the X3. If you get a palktalk edge or Pro you can record directly to your phone and sink with your footage in post. If you have questions ask here so others can also learn or interject.
Awesome 👌🏽. So glad I came across this video. Are you guys using a mic inside your helmets that's connected to the Cardo Packtalk❓️ ~ Your new subscriber. I give you five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great video! I've been doing a lot of audio experiments with the DJI Osmo, DJI Mic2, Insta360 Ace Pro and the Cardo. The DJI mic 2 creates a horrible interference problem with the cardo. Weeks of tech support with DJI couldn't solve it. 😢 Did you find that with the Rode? I'm using the Insta / Cardo Mesh technique now but it's very quiet. It requires quite a gain boost in post. Do you find this? How do you sync your engine audio to your vids? ☺️
Hi, thanks for watching. The Rode Pro is clean and sits right beside the Cardo on my helmet. No audio issues from any source. I have yet to ride with the Cardo linked to the X4 because of user error turning on the app record feature or my GPS or phone switching mic settings once I turn the bike on. I'll be making an X4 review next and work out the kinks. When it comes to sinking all the audio tracks, once all the cameras and recorders are running I honk my horn a few times and in post sync the peaks. If you watch my multicam video I go into detail on the process.
Great review and testing. Surprising how good the dual audio conversation recording is but overlaying the little bit of background bike noise improves the overall audio massively! The Cardo noise cancelling is too strong so just hearing your voice makes it sound unrealistic.
Hello, I have a problem that after connecting the Insta360 x4 camera with Cardo Edge to record a group conversation, it does not synchronize the sound with the film, i.e. in the editing process the sound is randomly shifted in time relative to the film, and with very long recordings at the end of the film the sound is as if sped up several times. Why is this happening. Best regards.
It's not abnormal for devices not using timecode to go out of sync over time, especially over bluetooth. The speed problem is beyond my technical expertise though. Hopefully someone sees this and has an explanation. I'd hit up Cardo tech support to see if they have an idea.
I got one question, how did u get the voice and the footage sync 😂.

Yes the button mic that the unit comes with. Thanks for the sub.
Get the poor guy’s name, right! 😂😂😂
There’s some comedy gold in here. Great job and review! I might get a Cardo myself. 😜
Lol

Thanks. Appreciate the reply.
The cardo recording feature is very neat. 😁👍🏻
Thanks for the tip re camera syncing. I'll take a look at your vid.
what tires you running. How are they on hwy also?
Hi, anakee wild. They are great on the hwy, off-road and in the twisties but they don’t last long. That’s the compromise.

It certainly ties it all together and you can control the sound and voice individually
@@AlexUllerimay i know how to control the sound individually?
@@VananXT I have a separate audio recorder to record engine sound which I use in post to layer over the voice audio captured from the Cardo.

awesome review!
Thanks!
1.6km...... I've never had that between Edge units. Maybe as much as a few hundred meters without any instructions.
Yeah it’s what is claimed by Cardo. Certainly not the case. I would love to know how they test and come to those figures.
@@AlexUllerisuper video btw
