Full context is needed for how much this means for leclerc. Hes been awesome around here, but something always goes wrong.
2017 Formula 2- On pole, but DNFs from both the sprint and main race
2018- Break failure
2019- starts near the back after getting left in the garage in Q1
2020- no race cuz covid
2021- pole, but car breaks down on formation lap
2022- Pole and dominating the race, but Ferrari messed up the strategey (plus had breaks fail on a classic f1 car he drove earlier in the week)
2023- 5 place grid penatly for bloclkin because he wasn't told a car was coming while he was in the tunnel
Sainz was able to restart in 3rd because not all (running) cars had cleared the first sector when the red flag was thrown. Therefore, a new race order wasn't able to be established, and the restart reverted to the original grid (minus any DNFs.)
As a neutral fan, this race was painfully boring.
As a Ferrari fan, I was sweating every lap. So happy for #CL16! Forza Ferrari
Sainz got P3 back because all the cars hadnt gone thru sector 1 at the red flag, so they went back to the order after T1 when Sainz was 3rd.
It used to be if you didn't complete the 1st lap the order would revert to wherever they started on the grid should it be red flagged, no idea if that's how it still works.
Now just sector 1.
Im still surprised that kmag didnt get race ban for that one.
I very rarely enjoy Monaco. But I’m also sometimes a bit of a traditionalist. So I don’t know if I want to keep it or not.
It’ll definitely be kept though.
The only race I’ve ever watched that was more boring than this one was the 2021 Belgian gp. It was bad even by Monaco’s standard. The red flag at the start absolutely fucked the race because there were barely any pitstops

Not 1 overtake,most boring race ever. Cool for LeClerc but thats it.
