    20000 km on Cooper st maxx, fully agree, excellent tires, grip, I had KO2 before, but Coopers are better in Offroad conditions, excellent in muddy terrain as well. Road noise compared to KO2 is a little bit louder but does not bother me at all. Very nice review, keep coming the videos

    I have a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado diesel. I installed the st Maxx tires in 2018. Still going strong with 110000 miles on them. Probably can get 20000 more. I'll just buy them again. They are more expensive per tire than the at3 but last far more. I hope Goodyear acquisition of cooper won't affect them continuing to make these tires and at the same quality.

    I have a GX470 similar to your LC Prado and have 2 sets of tires the AT3 and ST/MAXX. They both are AMAZING tires. The AT3 are great on everything but not so much on mud, insane grip on wet asphalt and snow and very capable offroad. The ST/MAXX are great on snow, offroad, mud, decent grip on dry asphalt but not as good as the AT3 on wet asphalt. I am COOPER lover.
    By the way I am extremely jealous of your amazing traveling experiences.

    100% agree with the Cooper AT3 tire allowing small stones to get stuck in the tread and potentially stone drilling the casings. That is actually my biggest concern with this tire and going out in remote locations. I have not had a puncture yet, but I’ve picked way more rocks out then I’d like to admit.

    my work in the oilfield was on pipelines and hotshotting equipment in west texas. very hot, lots of sand, rocks, mesquite trees puncturing tires, pot holes etc. the at3 didnt last 5k miles and i had a flat and two blowouts on different tires. went to the st maxx and never had a blowout, but did get some slow leaks from punctures. st maxx is good tires. ive tried every major brand of tires all terrain. the ko2's were the only ones i could wear down to the designated wear marker without every having a flat or blowout and have to replace prematurely. st maxx definitely had better traction off road than the ko2's but were not as durable or tough.

    I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 4x4 that gets far more on road use than off-road. Living here in New England in the US, we can get some pretty serious winter weather. I have tried numerous brands and models and the best so far have been the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S. I don’t need to strength of the LT and with the 4S I get a smooth quiet ride with exceptional wet road grip and snow traction. Literally just put the second set on yesterday and absolutely love the low noise smooth ride these tires provide. Great review. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

    We've had three sets of ST Maxx on two different trucks. The least mileage we got out of a set was 50,000 miles mixed on and off road. I think it's one of the best tire designs I've used and after a brief trial of the BFG KM3 I went back for a fourth set of Coopers. I was thinking of replacing them, with the AT3 (LT) version when they wear out, but after watching this I might just stick with my ST Maxx. But they didn't use the AT3 LT version in this review. Hmm, I wonder what the comparison might be, in regards to Snow Handling. My Maxx's handle well in the snow so far, very good.

    Having a tough time choosing tires. The Cooper AT3 4S's, or the Mortormaster X Trail Eliminators. I have seen them both with rebates on the coopers the price is 4 dollars different right now. The x tail looks like a tire cooper has called the discoverer rugged trek that i see online but if you look almost the same. When I press down on both tires( tire by themself 2 hands) the x trail is very stable makes me think once a rim and air are in there it would be more solid, or not. But the softness or flex could be better for when the temp drops, providing more grip. etc. The cooper did at3 4s and had more flex but I imagine that is just a difference in the compound or tread direction, but the plys are the same🤔...anyways the x trails felt stickier a bit lil more than the Cooper at3 4s, but only a little more....siping both were good 👍 tread patterns were different but the siping on the coopers from yrs in the past window shopping, I know they go all the way down and know the performance on snow and ice are good something to consider. Even though both tires in ratings are almost identical the x-trails are 100% On Ice'96 on snow, Coopers are 100% on snow 96 or 96 on ice, they're both all weather all terrains and have the three Peak Mountain snowflakes and like I said the motor Masters X trails are made by Cooper. If you go check out Cooper's rugged Trek discoverer, I don't know how old they are, not considering those at all, just something I noticed and thought was interesting. So other than both of them being weather rated and made by Cooper it's tuff. I mention don't 't know if this makes sense or a difference, but pressing down on both of them just standing up, and one had a little bit more Flex than the other Lil easier to push down, that was the Cooper at34s, the x-trail being a little harder depressed down, which appealed to me because my passenger snow tires I had last year, sidewall bulged out the side didn't like at all soft didn't' give that stability you have from an A/T tire which also can take bumps and hard terrains like packed ice in the back alleys and side roads, and not be rattled. It was not a good experience, I have had all terrains the entire time owning this vehicle(2009 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.3l awd, which is why I am going with snow-rated A/T. Maybe that is one reason to go for the Motormasters, though I don't imagine I would have much of a problem even though these are passenger tires A/Ts with a stronger compound. Stiffer might not be the best either because I was told the light truck tires weren't recommended for my vehicle because would be harder on the suspension, I figured this could be true with the x-trail even though it's designed for the size of the vehicle, but I would rather have the security and stability than a flimsy tire that bulge, I would take that chance, plus the plys are the same as I mentioned. All in all, they're both about the same and they're both made by Cooper, they both have the snowflake, and both have been tested in the severe Canadian weather that we get in this region. Other than the motor master x-trail eliminators being newer and a little more sticky than the Discover a t 3 4, and a little stiffer to push down, I'm at a stalemate. The siping direction and tread pattern are different but seem really good. The pattern of the Cooper is more forward directional, which for stopping and starting might grip better, but the multi-direction of the Motormaster's might help in sliding sideways to recapture and regrip, who knows? I know the Cooper AT3 4S are definitely good performers around the globe and have had time because they have been around longer. I have to make a decision in a couple of weeks for my appointment to get them on, but I am going down to Canadian Tire now to put a deposit on both, till I decide. . If somebody could help me I appreciate it, and let me know about the push test that might not nothing to do with anything, and also look at the Cooper rugged Trek I'm not buying or looking at, but they look similar tread wise sidewall-wise to the motor Master Eliminator X trails. I've studied and watched and seen the performance online of the AT3 discoverers so I know they are good, but those have been out for 4 years already, and the x-trails might be the newer better version, or Cooper might be holding a little back for their own name brand. All in all, it's going to be City driving. neither Tire would be fine. Appreciate it if you made it this far.

    • @ALVETOEXPEDITIONeng
      @ALVETOEXPEDITIONeng  2 года назад +1

      Yes Man, i did read all your comment, and you should be making video reviews of tires, cause it looks like you know a lot.. i would say to follow manufacturer recommendations about going or not with an LT tire, if you are not overloaded you won't need them. I have personally tried the A3 4s and you have seen on the video what is my opinion about it. I think probably the differences are minimal and ultimately is important on how you drive your car, if you are careful, you will be alright..i would go with Cooper, but that's me, however when i don't know what to pick, i flip a coin and still if my guts tell me that it's wasn't the right choice ( heads or tail ) then i definitely know what to get. Hope this makes sense. Just look at the tires, pick your favourite and then flip a coin, see what happens. Best of Luck for your next buy and Drive Safe ! Cheers😉😊👍

Thanks for your response and happy travels. 😊😊

    I'm not a fan of that brand, as it's not easy to compare their products, and they do not want to help - not responding to my emails...
    But tires on the other hand are quite good. Got set of at3 sport 2 currently.

    Receiving two sets of tires free: I call that sponsoring!

    • @ALVETOEXPEDITIONeng

      Hi Han, We got two set of tires, but they didn't pay us to make this video, neither they saw it before publishing or approve it. Cooper tires may be sponsoring our tires, but not this video. We purchased the first set of stt pro by ourselves and those are the tires we drove the most on, also i talk about the cons of each set. It's a fair and honest review and our expedition around the world is a tangible proof of how good these tires are. Then if you work for or take sides on other brands it's another story. Respect your opinion. Peace to you :)))
