Most old gasoline powered fire trucks had 2 distributors 2 sets of sparkplugs 2 alternators 2. Starters etc. In case one set had an issue you could flip a switch and use the other set.. like a back up system
I found a GREAT 1946 GMC "cab-over" duece-and-a-half (340+ cid I-6 gas and duplex 5-2 tranny), but the Shitty of Tussa won't let me work on it in my driveway or yard. "Enclosed garages only". AND a garage big enough to hold it is "commercial property" and costs $12,000 to $45,000 a year in TAXES!
I wanna thank you I have health issues. I want to go to that sale. I was down a week earlier and looked at this stuff. I was interested in the B model Mack
COE Ford trucks had flathead V8's. They were bigger cubits than the car V8s. A few 8 and 9N Ford tractors were repowered with these or the Mercury version. AL.

I believe you are correct!

I saw a diesel 4000 sell this summer for $1900. It had numerous oil and fuel leaks. Selecto Speed transmissions are known to self destruct. AL.
Hmm good to know
Massey 750 to 860 combines had 6 cylinder Perkins engines. You should find a 4 banger Perkins in a 510 at a combine salvage yard. AL B.
Thanks for the info Al! You always have good info in the comments!
