Just passed one year sober from alcohol ! I’m 44, mother of 2 beautiful teens who saw their mama quit and preserver. 🎉 the hardest part was the first week/month.
I had like 7 drinks in ten years. I used to drink a lot, like A LOT. But stopped when I became a addicted to opiates. Stopped opiates and went on meds. I'll be 7 years illicit opiate free in August. I just smoke a lil weed here and there. Even after stopping so many years ago I suffer from a fatty liver. I don't know if alcohol did that or shitty eating after having my gall bladder out. I also get liver infections often. But, I don't drink and love it that way.
The primary metabolite, acetaldehyde, is almost as reactive as formaldehyde which is the main ingredient in embalming fluid. Not that I think a rare glass of beer or wine with a good meal, is deadly if you are eating out at a special celebration. But, using alcohol for the mental effects is not good at all!

That's rly hard tho considering drinks are so normalized in our society, it takes disciplin, especially never to try it..

Take milk thistle, NAC, or Tudca, or all 3
I feel like if I had been warned more about alcohol instead of weed I might have not turned into a drinker.
