Be careful running past the guard. He can hit you through the door sometimes. I also lost a summon once because they just sat there fighting the guard through the door instead of helping with the boss...
Had the exact same issue. Still haven't beaten the godskin though, they just aren't my thing. I quit for the day bc it got me so frustrated. Anyone know what weapon(s)/techniques I could use that would definitely work?
After 30 attempts of trying to read is moveset I found that rolling into every single swing he does makes you practically invincible and you can get a good full combo into his back.
@@roseph5645 yeah, using the meteoric ore blade (basically a katana) and a medium load for a good enough roll I just flew into him and hit him every time he finished a combo, only had to back up when he does his AOE in phase 2. Just be mindful of your stamina.
I don’t know if it’s mentioned in this video,I’m sure you’ve mentioned it somewhere ,but while you are in this tower people need to go to the top and activate Rahdan’s rune . You can also teleport out of this tower and return if you feel you aren’t ready for this boss. As long as you hit the basement site if grace ,you’re good .

I fucking knew I wasn't supposed to be here I spent a few on this guy because after godrick I kinda had no clue where to go and ended up in this place and was determined to bring him down 1 hour later I downed him with the colossal sword it's doable with the greatsword but you have to be so careful one greedy attack you're done
I actually managed to beat him with a greataxe, it was hell of a time i think i died at least 8 times on him tho it was worth it, almost 100k runes is a great thing :D
Thanks for the vid, bro. Your strategy worked. This was the second time fighting this boss. The first time was in the village; I used the lone wolf ashes +6; it worked. However, the arena was a lot larger, making the fight easier. I didn't have an upgraded straight sword and continued using my Claymore+15. I added the frost ashes of war and chipped away until the second faze. He was a hard-stop and what we Souls/Bourne vets call a get-good fight.
I wish more of the divine towers were like the one in caelid. I Was in awe climbing the ladders, trying to find the entrance, dying to fall damage, looking around as I was climbing. Discovering the whole mini-dungeon inside the tower was such a cool concept to me. I was later abit dissapointed to find out the other towers were empty.
The most dumb tower in the game. You already have to beat a boss to get the rune activated but with this tower you have to do that and a stupid puzzle parkour.

I’m still very low lvl (30) and I was adventuring…looking for “bonfires.”.. saw this tower in the distance behind a bunch of dragons so I made a run for it. I actually made it in too. However I had to look up what kind of boss was in here as it takes me about 5 reposts to kill the normal knights inside

Thank you for the guide mate, this helped a lot. Beat him on my third try ! Tip : Use a summon for the first half. If you can use a near max or max upgraded weapon's ashe (i.e bloodhound's fang +10) during the times he's aggroed away, then you can chunk him easily. If summons die then I end up baiting his attacks while shielding and I'm mostly able to back away without him staggering me. This way I can connect with my weapon's ashe in between his attacks.
Early-level me was very tough in dealing with the tower enemies. Returning with late-game stats made it more bearable with the boss and his "doorman". Both still hit very hard. But making my way down there was a blast! I really loved such long dungeons in ER.

You can also just infintely back stab him too if you want. Instead of the ladder on the right, go out the last window on the left on the ledge. The monk cant hit you or go over there, just wait amfor him to stop walking, go and backstab. Walk back out on the ledge and crouch, monk will un aggro in like 10 secs and stand back in same spot again, just rinse and repeat
Jesus +19 weapon o.O I Found this boss pretty early, fought him with a +6 scythe and bloodflame weapon, realying on my bleed to do dmg.... took like 30+ tries, he was nearly 1shoting me with every atack.

Pro tip for any heavy weapon/strength build folks, as soon as you see him going for an attack just roll into him and hug his body to the right side. I did this, and you basically dodge most of his attacks this way. Think of his weapon, the damage is done at the ends twirling around, so near his trunk is a safe spot. Also you can literally just jump over some of the wide sweeping attacks, so if you can time that and do a jump+light/heavy attack smashing down. You basically get to dodge a strike, and then hit him once. Just make sure to immediately have a roll queued up behind him or back depending on what you just evaded. Once I realized I could just use his body as a shield, I just kept weaving in super close and then back out (for the magic phase that is). I found that if you pressure him with damage up close, he didn't explode more than once.

Tried some time back in the earlies but between the enemies who were much stronger than me at the time and the drop down parkouring I had to give up. This time I was around the area while free roaming and decided to search for some walkthroughs and shortlisted yours as a good one to follow. At first I said better I come back when I have very little runes carrying around just in case but then decided to go for it now. Most I could lose is about 290,000 runes. So went for it. Your walkthrough was very good is why I chose yours and the narration along the way was extremely helpful. I was able to get through to the boss without dying, Amen. And was also able to kill the boss first try. I'm a pretty high level so that may have helped. Armed with Starscourge Greatsword, the best colossal weapon in the game just so you know, as I entered the boss room I summed Mimic my bestie. My strategy was to let Mimic aka Mimi-Me melee him while I kept a distance and peppered Godskin with unrelenting Rock Sling. And that did it. I hurled so many rocks at Goddy poor fella must have forgotten what day it was. I never even had to use my Starscourge Greatsword. It was over in pretty much short order. Thanks a bunch for your walkthrough. I always wanted to come back for this some time but was afraid. Cheers.
A good rule of thumb is to use the Twiggy Cracked Tear in your Wondrous Physick flask for all annoying platforming sections. It prevents rune loss on death for 3 minutes.
For those that wanted to just defeat this guy here's a simple strategy (This is for those that wanted to go close combat) 1. Defeat Ancestor Spirit (Ez Boss) 2. Get Ancestral Follower Ashes Summon (Long range and can tank Godskin attack a few times) 3. Upgrade that to +3 4. Summon ancestral follower far from the Godskin boss 5. Keep the agro to you 6. When the agro changes to your summon, attack 7. and repeat until win Your summon are used only for distraction, the damage dealer are still you, and NO Summon in EARLY to MID Games are able to tank Godskin Apostle close combat + Magic, so use long range For those that wanted this fight to be easier than this, use REDUVIA knife + Ancestral Ashes Summon Just attack the boss with the knife ashes of war from far, and let the bloodloss do its magic
Thanks for this, just a few times falling made me look this up, especially when just the second time I fell and died RIGHT NEXT TO the site of grace at the bottom. Many times, I would panic and jump off by accident because I would have one foot off a ledge and plummet to my death so the advice to just walk off the ledges was enormously helpful. I also got to the first elevator like 3 times and jumped into it like a fool because my brain would say "there's a gap, what if you fall through" even though it was a very small gap that would be so cruel to make a player fall through. So I'd end up overshooting the elevator and and die... Then I got to that guard without realizing there was a ladder in that spot to open that other door for the shortcut and when I watched your video. Thank God I did, because I didn't even realize it was there and it saved me a couple tries. Finally got it after attempt 10 or so lol. This was harder than the actual boss was for me!
Great video, and I got to the armor super late so it took me less than a minute to kill this boss. I use a bleed build, rivers of blood +10 mimic tear +10. Thanks for the great video.
Building regulation must be lacking in The Lands Between. That tower would have been a lot safer if they'd built a proper door at ground level. The lack of railings is a health and safety nightmare, too.
the black flame tornado, the skill on the Peeler, which is where he spins it overhead and causes consecutive waves of black flame, it DOES deal damage before it gets set off, but its minor and nearly unnoticeable if you are blocking, it will chip/burn off 3% of your HP compared to the 300+4% HP of the Black Flame Orb... also the BFT is bugged and will build up 'charges' ie 1,2,3,4 and a final 5th instance of black Flame that procs on the surge at the end, dealing 15% TOTAL HP damage in addition to the damage the surge causes... potentially up to 95% hp with a burn that eats away another 5% over 3 seconds... which might kill you through you healing animation if the lighting is under halfway on the resolution

Just fought this boss earlier with a +4 Banished Knight Oleg summon (who died halfway through the fight) and he was murdered in my first try. Watching this video as I didn't even recall any of his moves except for when he stretches. You're right, his Phase 2 was easier to read and managed to kill him by myself. 😅
Hah i found myself there at level 14 or something. Should have known something was up when the normal guards took like 6-7 backstabs with my uchigatana :D

I worked my way from the top of the tower to the bottom. I was randomly exploring Caelid and i saw a cool tower and saw the branch and made it to the top and almost died when i got the great rune. Not sure whats on the way down but im doing it now.
Maybe wanna lead with "just go the other way to activate the great rune" I went through that whole song and dance because I thought it was something after the boss.
If anyone's having trouble with the actual boss, I was able to kill him on the second try with Lhutel the Headless spirit ashes and my Uchigatana with the Winged Sword Insignia equipped. The first time i tried mimic tear, but I was already hurt from the guard that time and the boss immediately one-shot me before the mimic tear could even form fully. So the second time I immediately moved, summoned Lhutel, and just let her aggro him almost the whole time while I'd run in and out between his moves. When he stretches, I had a good opportunity to get in close and get several attacks in quickly while he was trying to reach Lhutel so I could build up some blood loss. Then moved back quickly, making him focus on Lhutel instead of me again. Rinse and repeat a few times and he was done... Also Idk how he does with scarlet rot, but I know that I was able to take out the guard before the boss fight without using any of my health flasks (it did take one of my FP flasks but i had 3 equipped) with it. Just used rotten breath on him twice and kept backing up and rolling away to dodge until he died, which was fairly quick. Imo the problem with thise guards comes in when you lose patience and try to go in for the kill, get combo'ed and can't get away fast enough to heal. Hope this helps someone out there.
I did this boss in about 3 attempts after using mimic tear + sleep pots + 2handing bloodhound's fang(+8) and just buffing myself a bit using golden vow, bloodflame blade, str/dex physick, and godricks rune
This guy hits like a TON of bricks. I just beat him, on a shield build with a mace, level +16... My Great Shield was the same, or close.... It took like 10 tries solo, then I gave up and got a summon to level 6 and used it to assist.... I just could not do it, I hope I have better luck on the duo....
Wait that's how you're supposed to get to the bottom? I found that there's an elevator after the shortcut I can drop down on at the right angle and survive the fall. Always felt like it wasn't the intended way but it worked

That's why whenever possible I just sum in my headless night who's plus 11 right now, and he and I kick butt together. We high five at the end of the fight and he goes back to sleep and I carry on. I beat every boss in the capital with a summons and when I didn't have a summons I still won the first round but it was always very close. The only boss fight in the capital that was close with the summons was the final boss fight with Morgit.
I killed this boss second try using a sleep pot.. you only need 1 sleep pot. As soon as you enter, get a little closer and throw the sleeping pot at him. It takes like 5 seconds for him to fall asleep. As soon as he does, run to him, attack him alot.
Right now I'm late-game and going back to clean up all the bosses I missed on my journey. And I took one look at that platforming and thought, "Nah, I don't care that much. Godskin Apostle can live."
I died more times scaling that tower than I did dying from any boss. Lol

Just stay far until he does the fire ball and jump attacks which are easy to dodge and delete him with nice critics yum xD
Using unsheathed 2-3 time on him will stagger him for a very satisfying critical stab animation lok

i think you forgot about Guard Counters. especially on that first enemy. if youre gonna use a shield, use Guard Counters!

The big dudes are called the Blackflame monks! Just picked up a piece of their armor

Having the Mimic Tear Ashes really helps. Mimic Me kept him aggro'd and allowed me to kick his ass with my Moonveil Katana.
Is anybody else dealing with him throwing fire at you the as soon as you press square to heal
every godman time the millisecond I use it the fire comes out
yup everytime, I find that rolling forward through his fire attack and getting a hit in is better.
you should bait out his fire, dodge then heal right after. Dont just heal instantly cus you're low.

the black flame tornado, the skill on the Peeler, which is where he spins it overhead and causes consecutive waves of black flame, it DOES deal damage before it gets set off, but its minor and nearly unnoticeable if you are blocking, it will chip/burn off 3% of your HP compared to the 300+4% HP of the Black Flame Orb... also the BFT is bugged and will build up 'charges' ie 1,2,3,4 and a final 5th instance of black Flame that procs on the surge at the end, dealing 15% TOTAL HP damage in addition to the damage the surge causes... potentially up to 95% hp with a burn that eats away another 5% over 3 seconds... which might kill you through you healing animation if the lighting is under halfway on the resolution
With Oleg lvl 7 and decaying breath fight took 20 sec. God I love having summons along with breath attacks.

Ty this tower really pissed me off,I couldn't figure out how to get to the first grace. Went from low to as high as I could.
Just use the rejection magic to create a blast to push them off, it even staggers them sometimes lol

After the second fall you can jump to the left. Just use cotton. Its way easier than walking/rolling to the small ledge.
Just fought this boss earlier with a +4 Banished Knight Oleg summon (who died halfway through the fight) and he was murdered in my first try. Watching this video as I didn't even recall any of his moves except for when he stretches. You're right, his Phase 2 was easier to read and managed to kill him by myself. 😅

Omg, so I DID enter the tower the correct way. It was so obscure and with such narrow scaling, that once I reached the site of grace, I thought I had glitched my way up...and that I was supposed to get there another way. XD

You can also throw sleep pots at the boss and blitz him with blood loss weapons! My friend and I did this in coop and it made it much easier
I worked my way from the top of the tower to the bottom. I was randomly exploring Caelid and i saw a cool tower and saw the branch and made it to the top and almost died when i got the great rune. Not sure whats on the way down but im doing it now.

If anyone's having trouble with the actual boss, I was able to kill him on the second try with Lhutel the Headless spirit ashes and my Uchigatana with the Winged Sword Insignia equipped. The first time i tried mimic tear, but I was already hurt from the guard that time and the boss immediately one-shot me before the mimic tear could even form fully. So the second time I immediately moved, summoned Lhutel, and just let her aggro him almost the whole time while I'd run in and out between his moves. When he stretches, I had a good opportunity to get in close and get several attacks in quickly while he was trying to reach Lhutel so I could build up some blood loss. Then moved back quickly, making him focus on Lhutel instead of me again. Rinse and repeat a few times and he was done...
Also Idk how he does with scarlet rot, but I know that I was able to take out the guard before the boss fight without using any of my health flasks (it did take one of my FP flasks but i had 3 equipped) with it. Just used rotten breath on him twice and kept backing up and rolling away to dodge until he died, which was fairly quick. Imo the problem with thise guards comes in when you lose patience and try to go in for the kill, get combo'ed and can't get away fast enough to heal. Hope this helps someone out there.

I did this boss in about 3 attempts after using mimic tear + sleep pots + 2handing bloodhound's fang(+8) and just buffing myself a bit using golden vow, bloodflame blade, str/dex physick, and godricks rune

It was clear that I was very overleveled fighting him considering I basically 3 shot him with Melanias katana and rivers of blood

This guy hits like a TON of bricks. I just beat him, on a shield build with a mace, level +16... My Great Shield was the same, or close.... It took like 10 tries solo, then I gave up and got a summon to level 6 and used it to assist.... I just could not do it, I hope I have better luck on the duo....
Wait that's how you're supposed to get to the bottom? I found that there's an elevator after the shortcut I can drop down on at the right angle and survive the fall. Always felt like it wasn't the intended way but it worked

That's why whenever possible I just sum in my headless night who's plus 11 right now, and he and I kick butt together. We high five at the end of the fight and he goes back to sleep and I carry on. I beat every boss in the capital with a summons and when I didn't have a summons I still won the first round but it was always very close. The only boss fight in the capital that was close with the summons was the final boss fight with Morgit.

for the boss I use the death poker. just roll that fireball and then L2+R1 everytime. play it safe and you got it

I killed this boss second try using a sleep pot.. you only need 1 sleep pot. As soon as you enter, get a little closer and throw the sleeping pot at him. It takes like 5 seconds for him to fall asleep. As soon as he does, run to him, attack him alot.
Right now I'm late-game and going back to clean up all the bosses I missed on my journey. And I took one look at that platforming and thought, "Nah, I don't care that much. Godskin Apostle can live."
Thank you, I gave up on this because I simply walked past the ladder for the short, died to the acolyte and was so annoyed by the platforming.
