Thank you! You’re right, I see it in old home and new builds. It blows my mind the price we pay for custom builds or any labor for that matter and the lack of quality we receive. Sometimes we end up living with issues like this for months or years to find out it takes a few seconds and is free.
Great tips Dan, these little fixes can definitely help homeowners and save them unnecessary expenses from handy man services that they can do themselves.
Glad to hear and thank you for the comment. Lol I just realized I’ve made 6 door repair and build videos. Doors are not my favorite and I’m turning into the door guy.
Haha thank you for watching. I’m glad it was helpful! Was it super easy to fix for you? Sometimes you kick yourself for living with an issue that later you find out only takes a few dollars or free and just a couple of minutes to fix.
My roommate stays up all night going outside to smoke tobacco. Every time my door rattles and wakes me up. This video improved my quality of life by a bunch immediately. Thank you so much. Seriously.
@@Jacksonr-yq7no That’s great to hear and makes it worth it making the video. You’re very welcome! I look forward to having you as part of the Inspiring Builds family where you may find future videos helpful as well.
@@inspiringbuilds no of course not that would have been too easy 😅 some I had to take out and bend into place and others I had to unscrew and move the plate (it’s an old house and all sorts of different fittings)
Absolutely and thanks for watching! Usually after watching most people find they have at least a couple of doors needing adjusted in their own home and this can be done in just a few seconds. 👍
@@thegrindstone13 You’re very welcome. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment. I’m glad you were able to fix your door and get better quality sleep.
@@zexks5101 Thanks for watching. When making adjustments do a little at a time as a small amount can make a noticeable difference. If you bent it too far one option is removing it and prying it back with pliers. The tongue isn’t highly visible but if you want to avoid marring the metal you can put a towel over the tongue before using the pliers.

Straight to the point, great job! Saved me money from a service call and no more annoying rattle.
Thank you and great to hear!
This is a great how to for home owners and helpful for buyers looking at homes who need to make some repairs after getting a home inspection. Thanks!
Thank you! I agree, a lot of home inspections have a several small easy items and this is one that can easily be done yourself.
Brilliant idea for a video! This happens in 80% of homes, and I would say the majority of people don’t know how to fix it. Great job
