I saw this video and I got my 13 year old grandson to do this for me. I could have done it but I wanted him to feel great about accomplishing something. It worked for the door and the grandson! Thanks!
This is awesome, I have a door just like this...instead of paper I have a 3D printer so I'ma 3D print a piece just incase the door hinge gets moisture (since it's an outside door). Thanks for this tip!
By doing that, won't that reduce the spacing of the gap at the bottom of the door? If so cant you move the door up by bending the hinges with the Alan key. By placing the key in between the hinges and close the door slightly?
Great idea! What happens if the latch is too high for the strike plate? can you just do this with the top hinges and is there a limit depending on how high it is. Also what if the latch isn't very large as well (so doesn't fit in well). Thanks, great videos!
They are usually welded on the frame but not the door so you could pack the door side of the hinge. However legally you can't muck with a fire door in Australia ;-)
When this video began I was very enthusiastic. I was able to follow the clear instructions how to fold the paper, but then my problems began. I don't have any power tools, and I wasn't expecting to need to use them (I'm not sure exactly how or where I was expecting the paper to be used, but I wasn't expecting to have to take things apart). Getting four paint encrusted screws that are completely stuck in place out of a hinge (and back in place again) with just a screwdriver is beyond me. So my overall feeling regarding the video is disappointment, as it certainly would not be quick or easy for me. I moved the latch part down instead, as that's only two screws, and I could hit them with my hammer to make them go in when they won't go back into place with the screwdriver, and use filler to today up where I'd had to gouge out more wood from the doorframe. My door now shuts again . So for me, this hack was neither quick nor simple. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting ,but I was definitely expecting something that a DIY impaired novice would be able to do in a reasonable time with just a screwdriver and a hammer, not an expert with a full range of power tools. So unfortunately I really can't upvote this video. But I'm not going to downvote it either, as I can see other people have found it very useful.

Any tips for doors that are rubbing on the top side with steel frames
Nice bro, thank you
Brilliant...
howdy, will this work on a unit fire door ?
Unit fire doors may have welded hinges on the door jamb, you will need to check this first 👍

Hem...not yoosing yor Ryobi gears. Gone tu da dark side wiv Milwaukee.....

Lol. Right? 🤭

Buy a basic drill - it’s a basic DIY tool not a major at all
This did not work and it's much harder to do the to one
