    You need to invent your own pattern called Yumboflage that makes you hard to spot in the thrift

    I left 'Nam in '70 - we were supposed to turn all our clothing and gear into S4 (supply) but they really didn't care if you took
    some of the uniform stuff with you. I took some with me, but left most of it behind. If I had that stuff now, I could buy a car
    with what I could sell it for. Still got the Dress Greens I wore when I was discharged, though - that uniform will be in my closet the
    day I die.

    What’s up, Big Yumbo. Love your videos I hope you keep having success. I got a question when you’re trying to move aged inventory how big of a discount do you find is effective to get it to move? Thanks for any advice. Good luck.

    I also regret selling my military grail. I had a pair of 40s navy denim dungarees. I got good money for them but I don't think I'll ever find something like them again.

    I found a pair of 1947 Sateen drab olive pants. I wouldn’t have bothered with them if I hadn’t watched your videos. So thank you. Problem is that they fit me and I’m a middle aged lady. But I don’t want to wear them and maybe wreck them, and where would I wear them anyway? Kroger? The bins? But I can’t seem to make myself list them either.

    Great shit as usual dude. Is there any resources you could recommend online to learn more about military clothing and camo patterns in general? I live near a navy base and find some stuff but don’t have the knowledge base. Thanks as always

      I know you. I watch all your shorts. Learned a lot from you. You need to post some long form vids and share that knowledge.

    • @MikeInMexico
      @MikeInMexico 29 дней назад

      Totally agree and thanks for watching. I like the idea of long form but it’s hard to keep attention. Still, I do love to geek out about the items I have so I’ll consider the option. Thanks for the reply.

    I would bet there is a lot of great military clothing finds around Oceanside / Camp Pendleton. Back around 2008 I used to find a lot of Navy pea coats around San Diego. There was always a ton of military clothing available. You should make the trip.

    Are army navy surplus stores still a thing? I used to hit them all the time as a kid. Do you source there?
    I sold a cool ass slant pocket green one. Probably too low

      They’re around and they’re expensive. I don’t source there. That’s cheating.

    GL on the 1945 Hugo Boss. Jk, any HG besides Tiger Stripe? I'll sell it to you for shipping cost if I ever find it. My coolest militaria find so far would probably be either the m-1951 alpaca wool hat (Korean war) or the M6 gas mask bag.

    • @bigyumbo
      @bigyumbo  Месяц назад +1

      Sounds like a good deal. As far as holy military grails I’m looking for a Mitchell pattern “in country” jacket or pants and I’m looking for anything WWII frogskin . Some 40s USN denim would be cool too.

    You should keep both jackets at 7:56. Anytime I've ever sold something when I had multiples that involved a hobby I always regretted it. Plus, if you really get into it then you'll be mad because the jackets are variations on each other. You'll want both to show the differences. Or, you have more self control than I do and you should just sell the duplicate. My advice also may not be the greatest because I definitely have collecting issues. Fuck...
