Thank you very much for this! I had NO idea that so many temples and other structures had been moved. It shows just what good humanity can accomplish when we put our minds to it. I remember at the time thinking that flooding that part of Egypt seemed a bit brutal but to think of what might have been lost but for all this effort is hard to imagine. I sat watching every minute of this post absolutely, completely and utterly fascinated.
Curtis, thank you so much. I have learned so much to my love for Egypt always within me even though I’m not Egyptian but I always had a passion for Egypt.
I thoroughly enjoyed this . Thank you, Curtis. Your knowledge, passion and love for Ancient Egypt is plain to see. It was wonderful being transported back to Abu Simbel, it was hard to take it all in surrounded by fellow tourists. I appreciate the time you spent here and the explanations for the scenes. After the temple of Hatshepsut, these temples are a close second.
Absolutely Fantastic, good Job done Curtis! You are So GALA good in what u do, and deliver in such a way, so that anyone can enjoy and learn. I am an Egypt fan since 40 years, have done a lot of studies in Egyptologi, because at a young age, I was to be sent to Egypt as a tour guide for Scandinavians. The Kuwait war came in between so I never got to go then. Some years later, I went to Cairo Giza and Sharm and got hocked. After Many returns and travels around Egypt I got totally hooked by Aswan and been there at least eight times. Now Siwa is my favorite since 7 years back. I did not know that it was open for travel again on lake Naser. So now I know where my next trip to my souls mother land (on Earth) is going. So very inspiring : the exceptional cinematography, the sound quality of your voice which is mellifluous and elegant as well as your, enthused and edifying narration. Thank you so much for your efforts.
Well, you've done it again. I always watch your documentaries with jaw-on-the-floor awe, and as I listen to the joy in your voice as you take us back in time, I am enrapt all over again, at the beauty of their simple lives, their beliefs, and the love you have for magnificent Egypt. You do these ancient people proud! I remember when you went to Egypt with the Chateaux gang, you seemed like a caged tiger just chomping at the bit to get at these wonderful temples and tombs! Now I know why! Thanks again for taking me along for the ride!

I do not know how you do it, but you are the best Egyptologist in the world. I love Egyptology, and that's why I watch a lot of material on this topic. But for the most part, these are well-known stories. You introduce us to little-known places, with your soulful voice, you transport us to the time when these events took place. I walk past the sphinxes in front of the Academy of Arts every day. On each of the pedestals there is an inscription: "The sphinx from ancient Thebes in Egypt was transported to the city of St. Peter in 1832." Every time I see these sphinxes I think of you. 🥰
