September is best. October is too late on the Shannon. Too much rain, water-flow increases in bottlenecks like Tarmonbarry, and low-horsepower engines in hire boats struggle sometimes. I go every year in September for two weeks. Best holiday I've ever done, and I've been to most countries, including Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, North Africa, etc. All the " unusual " holiday treks.
Lovely video, really well put together. It captures what looks like a really enjoyable family break on the Shannon. 👍🏻

I was reading Maeve Binchy's 'Tara Road' where cruises on the Shannon are mentioned. Back to my book now!
I've never seen the waterways so busy in so many years. Cool upload.
