For city riding, just three basic parameters are important, 1. Low-end torque, 2. A manageable or short seat height for the stop-and-go traffic and 3. A light front end feel. The lack of either of these parameters is where the compromise starts. And if you're okay with compromising then even a Hayabusa is fine for city riding. Depends on what you're okay giving up on.
You missed engine heat. For seat height higher the better due to better visibility and commanding position, it should be manageable though. And importantly weight of bike, flickability and occasional drag at petrol pumps and toll.
Yeah agree. That's ktm !!. but then.. off roader with out low end torque is weird and risky I feel. if we revv too hard on gravel / dirt the rear might spin insanely and loose traction.
It's very important to climb up those rocky terrain. Himalayan has that in plenty, so do any off-road bike. You do not want to ring the throttle and sliding with surge.
@@neerajmadan2001 Okay, I understand that. To prevent the sliding you talked about, I think KTM has provided the 390 Adv with off-road ABS which seems to work pretty well. But it'd have been better if they could tune the engine to provide good low-end torque at low gears like the Himalayan.
Anyone who knows how to ride a dirt bike agrees that low-speed torque is critical for off-road. You need to be able to slowly go up a hill, and to do that, you need low-speed torque.
Loved that thorough review. It would be great to know your insights on how would that machine perform with the 250cc engine. Would the power delivery characteristics of 250 be better suited for urban riding and off-road? Wouldn't the temperature be more manageable? Hope to hear your opinion.
I took the test ride in a crowded area in Mumbai. Very light and flickable. But since the gearing is short, you have to shift gears constantly at slow speeds. But clutch and gears are light and very easy to operate, so feels like you're riding a commuter bike.
...kosa bike lu... Daily use city ride 50% touring 30% off road 20% .. royal Enfield Himalayan, dominar 400, KTM Duke 390 adventure, comfortable city ride daily use.. please any idea..?
Bulu Bhai.. low end torque ke bina off road mein panga hoga na... Dirt/ gravel mein vroom vroom rev. Kaise karenge?? 🤔🤔 I would be afraid of revving off road.
Hi patnaik. I am motovlogging with hero7 black and boya m1 mic....getting too much wind noise if I go more than 60kmph...could you pls suggest something to avoid wind noise? Thanks in advance
Bulu bhai, for KTM 390 ADV, I closely following you as near future wanted to buy this bike... So all these informations and your forth coming videos will be great help for me to understand the bike better..... Thanks
Bulu bhai, I have booked the bike in bangalore but the dealer says that RTO approval is pending and due to which the delivery is taking long time, could u please advise if that's the case, because I am seeing lot of videos of deliveries of 390 ADV for bangalore. Please advise. Thanks
Bulu Bhai ... I need a help. I am unable to get the type of clarity as u have in ur videos when u shoot using the gopro5/7 on ur helmet (in this video). Can u plz share the video settings as u have in ur gopro5/7 so that I can also match the same. Also plz do lemme know if I need to use any editing software. Any help will be much appreciated. Namaskar :)
Bulu bhai, the bike looks different. But I couldn't understand if this bike is better than rtr 180 in city. That bike can do quick overtakes. That has good handling. Moreover that doesn't feel any lag in pulling power in city traffic. This ktm is not even as smooth as himalayan over bumps n potholes. Looks like its speciality is in its high seat height. No bike is perfect.
What has happened to our road planners? Dirt and loose soil on the road. We should have the road slightly elevated from the rest of the land for proper drainage.
We know buddy you bought it, spent a good fortune on it, but you are just covering up all negatives. We need straight views rather than advertisements.
Namaste bulu bhai... Mujhe Himalayan Lena hai, usko dekhthe dekhthe pyaar Ho Gaya us peh... Please make a video comparing Himalayan and 390 Adventure... Please bhai.....
Bulu bahi.. your adv off roading wala review was very good.. made sense 70 touring and 30 off roading.. How different is the stalling issue compared to old 390.. 1st gen.. i had it for 6 years n 38K, some city n tour etc.. i never faced the stalling issue on that.. is Adv engi e very different?
Bulu bhai i just simply love your videos. This video made my mind clear about the confusion I had between interceptor and ktm adventure. I was amazed with interceptor but I had ktm adventure in my mind too. Interceptor is good but not very much reliable so I would go for KTM.
Sir 5.3-5.4 height hai meri, daily 100km ka commute krta hu with my laptop, camera and other gears so ye kitna comfortable rhegi? (seat height to koi issue nahi banegi na)
Very nice video, and many congratulations for your new bike, plz do comparison video about interceptor and adv 390 as u own both, I know both are different bike but price and power both are more are less same...cheers
Hello Bulu Bhai I have been watching your blogs from few months and I like it a lot. Thank you covering most of the topics in detail. I am planning to upgrade to a entry level touring bike and I am confused between Interceptor and adv 390. Both bikes are unique in their own way. However if I compare on below parameters, could you please provide your input. City ride Highway ride Maintain 130 for hours on highways Handling and behaviour on bad roads. Quality and cost to maintain. Sorry for making it too long :)
bulu bhai will low end torque be a problem on steep inclines and offroad ? i ride a RE standard 500 currently that have a lot of low end torque can ktm adventure 390 compete with it in this department ?
The low end torque not being high enough is a big problem. I’m yet to get a test ride but I have booked the bike. Will take the final decision after the test ride
@Bulu bhai which is better between 390 Adventure and Interceptor 600 for city heating problem due to bumper to bumper traffic ??? Manageable konsi better hai???
Bullu Bhai I follow u for one important reason always talk on pin point which I love no unwanted chattering and what u share I feel same what u feel for bike negative n positive points
Congratulations and I absolutely love your content Bulu bhai...But but but....riding such powerful bike with chappal is something which i didn't like and is unsafe.....so many people follow your channel....so please take care about it...

This is why fz25 is a hoot to ride in traffic. Also no heating.
Bulu bhaina
You should not overtake a heavy vehicle from left side.
My advise.
Take care
Nothing worst than a low bottom end bike in city traffic~ Will be interesting to see it get out of ditches and muddy roads.
Please give demo of how to use Quick shifter..
KTMs never had low end torque.... these are from Racing DNA.... These are not RE or Jawa
Yeah agree. That's ktm !!. but then.. off roader with out low end torque is weird and risky I feel. if we revv too hard on gravel / dirt the rear might spin insanely and loose traction.
What is the point of not having a low-end torque in an adventure bike?

Its more refined n cheaper than the adventure 390. I easier to manage in traffic too.
(I road both the bikes n telling u)

U will have to cross 2k rpm it will start pulling
@@anirbansarkar6690 yeah.
you can rev while on off road with this bike, tyre won't slide due to traction control.
I am 5'7" and if I ride with pillion in traffic (bangalore) will that be manageable? 🤔
