Great video Dean. I'd advise anyone doing this swap to make sure the Halo bulbs are good. Because unless you've got tiny little hands you'll more than likely repeating the installation process again just to change these bulbs. In fact maybe just swap out all the bulbs before installing.
People are stealing them ? That’s crazy man they ain’t worth nothing really. Here in the Uk they are stealing F series steering wheels by just ripping them out the car and the G series has become the new target
Yep they are all targeted here in the Uk the steering wheels are expensive espeically alcantara ones they sell for over a grand here so people are just ripping them out with the whole steering coloumn bad bad design by bmw. E series ain’t targeted no more as nobody is intrested in them here in the Uk at least. Here is a recent video of it happening ruclips.net/video/fG8rl9CGoSM/видео.html And here is the update video after they take the whole thing out bmw and the cheap plastic they use ruclips.net/video/LazqJ4aLKsc/видео.html Here is another theft here in the Uk same thing ruclips.net/video/BdOXWKofXNU/видео.html And here is another one ruclips.net/video/Qx_7sqnG8u8/видео.html Very common problem here that’s why I was on guard when I fitted mine to my M135i I couldn’t sleep if I left that on the road
They are plug and play if you buy the harnesses for the wiring otherwise you will have to alter the wiring which isn’t hard on the E87 as there isn’t that many wires for the lights on them. So it can be done easily just don’t buy xenon’s or you will need to run a new live wire from the frm and JBBE and a ground to the frm itself from the lights to make it work.
I have never been keen on LCI upgrades as to my eyes the original form of any car is closer to the design artists concept. Anyway the E60 seemed to be a special case as they redesigned the electrical system. I presume the LCI halogen case works with LED bulbs with the projectors?
That’s correct I can indeed now I can put whatever bulbs I want in now they have projectors that’s the plan. And it’s much cheaper then actual factory xenon’s that ain’t that bright in the first place so I much prefer to add LED bulbs that are £20 and won’t blind anyone now.
@BMWdoctor previous owner didn’t fit this adaptar which means my low beams go on & off randomly. Now i found the cable on eBay but says it doesn’t ship to uk, do you have a link of the one you bought? Many thanks
If you change the headlights PreLCI halogen to LCI halogens, do I need to change or program something? Or did you take the old ones out and put in the new ones?
I’ve got lci headlights in my car as I think the guy before me out them in and did something wrong, but the lighting is so poor!! My front fogs are brighter. So I’ve decided to buy a set of pre lci. Is it plug in and go or will I need to reverse what you’ve done on the LM?
Hi everyone. I just bought a 535d 2004 with one problem and i want your opinon on what it might couse it. This has nothing to do with the video but i want some opinions or if anyone had it before. So, when the engine is cold it does great performance on acceleration it responds nice, but when the temperature goes around 80 celsius degree it starts making an agressive noise on the exhaust and engine does not respond in time when i hit the gas and a lot of white smoke frome the exhaust. When i stop and rev it the noise isnt there anymore ,but when i shift to D and hit the gas it does it again. I went at a mechanic and they told me its the head gasket problem
You can easily make the connector. I got them as they was cheap to buy instead of making them but I have the bits to make them aswell it ain’t hard if you have the pin out for the headlights for the LCI ones
Nope not possible unless you get converters that plug in on the back. If you want it factory you have to use LM2 but LM2 is not expensive anyway it’s about £30 to buy and easy to install. It’s just the coding
@@BMWDoctor yeah i’ve bought lci taillights with adapter cables for a very cheap deal. Guy who sold me this had his car wrecked before he could install these. But with LM2 its easier. Can it be code with the launcher creader elite? Maybe getting myself a LM2 has more functions then the LM1
Yep launch creader elite can do the coding indeed! I’m about to show you how to do it its actually easy with that scan tool as I said that scan tool can do it all And I’m about to show that. As for lm2 yep it has alot more options and also gives you the welcome light feature which LM1 doesn’t. So LM2 is well worth it for that
Hi mate i have a question about light insulation on e60 525i pre face lift It has 11 pin's on two plugs and I want to install e60 520d lci halogen with has 10,pin's on plug So the question is whenever dose 1 extra pins gose on lci headlight If there isn't corresponding pin one hosing it self 🤔
Yes I did it with my E60. But it’s more complicated. You need to buy additional kit from BMW retrofit for the taillights. And you will need a different light module (located underneed you steeringwheel). After that I went to an expert who programmed my lci taillights and made sure that my pre LCI headlights would still work. Al worth it in my opinion.
Hi my m5 f10 started burning oil more than usual. Do you think I can use some preparations that to reduce the burning of oil or does it have susu. I have no leaks and no smoke from the exhaust. I use the car every day. Thanks

Well this car is apart and ready for that I have a lot of bulbs to install later on I got so much more to do before bulbs 😅
@@BMWDoctor can you give us an link where we can find the cable's.
really informative video, I would so want lci lights on my E60, but everyone is stealing them like cazy here in EU

Dash controls for these no auto level on them
Can you give me the link for the adapter cable headlights ❔😊
What website is this? Greetings from Germany
Is there any links for the headlights and connectors in this video ?

Hello, where can I order such cables for the headlights ready?
Can only find them in USA. Not in Europe. Does anyone have them?

I swapped my lci halogen lights to lci xenon lights , now the high beam isn't working even after coding.
I leave the bracket on the car, I only removed the torx bolts above the kidney grills. And then pull the headlights out without the bracket.
That’s usually how I do it but I was changing them and needed the bumper off anyway
