I am 71. I could never as a teen get the beat of wipeout done correctly. She was amazing. As far as the school band goes, give them a break, they did a good job also. It hard at that young age to sit in front of a crowd and play music that they have not rehearsed.

My kids first year of band was the 4th grade and the brass is very much beginners. Give them time it is very hard and my kids started with a cheap flute and a used Saxophone and many lessons with private teachers. Every year it gets better and soon we had to buy much more expensive instruments. My daughter was so good on flute and piano that the owner of the music studio hired her to teach beginners by age 14 . My son by age 15 was also hired to teach Saxophone and piano to beginners too. My son was in Marching band, Symphonic band and Jazz Band. He was First Chair Sax player and my daughter was in Symphonic and also asked to play in the Orchestra and she was First Chair Flute. Both kids were fantastic musicians. They were chosen best in the State. So it was a great experience. Music is wonderful for young people and it does wonders for their intelligence. All of their activities helped get them scholarships and other honors.

Bless her. She is so nervous. I remember when I had to play in front of my high school when the band Blaze hired me on a Wednesday and we played my homecoming dance the following Saturday nightwhen I was a junior in high school. I was scared to death the first 2 songs but I was better at playing guitar than I was a dancer so it turned out great. She needs to play a set to get over the stag freight and she will have a great time. She was very brave for doing this. I had an awesome band to blend in with and she was in the spot light. Kudos to the little angel!

Who was the brain-dead moron who thought brass was a suitable accompimant to Wipeout. She's good, the band was nothing but bloody painful! Give her time and practice, she'll be great.

Ronnie Baker ** i did not see stage fright.
      What i saw was
      "" lets get this going""
Also its very odd to start out with out the drums first because its the drums that set the pace. DRUMMERS ARE NOT FOLLOWERS...THEY ARE LEADERS! she was put in a stupid position by fools that did not know what they were doing.

We used to the skating rink and wipeout would play... had to skate as fast as you could especially during the long drum roll.... Back in the 70s
.... I always seemed to wipeout lol

I just love watching young kids playing music! You could tell she was nervous in the beginning. But did a great job! That was very cool!

I've got it! The band is covering the style and musicality of Galveston's Lovenberg Jr. High Band of 1953. Perfect imitation.

SXI96 I've never gotten to play a lefty set up kit. All my buds are righties... guess that's why I just play guitar... 😁

@Mike Hunt play open hand, allows your right hand more freedom and gives you the option of absurdly loud snare hits if you need them. It means you don't have to switch the kit around every time you show up at a gig either.
Also don't blame it all on the orchestra @SXI96, that conductor clearly has no understanding of music. He didn't recognize that there's a pick-up, his count-in wasn't in the same bpm as the song, and he SAID "GO" ON BEAT ONE! Wh-Who does that?!?!
