I love that Christmas tree plate. It’s just like the ones we had in my family growing up. I bought a similar set a few years ago, so it just feels like Christmas!
Norman Conquest, Page Turner and Gladys Friday are winners lol. Fear and her siblings sound like they walked right out of a modern epic fantasy book. You read a ton of philosophy books..didn't know. Edmond Dantès is perfect for this prompt. Love Actually is such a cozy movie, we like to watch Michael McIntyre's Xmas special.
Hi Emily, thanks for the tag. So many great names, Lettice Bray, Tim Burr, Bess Befor, Willy Nilly, Justine Case and who could forget Earwacker Deadman! Here's to a great Christmas and plenty of great reads!
You always tag everyone and there's no one left to tag. 😞 LOL I liked hearing about your school experience and your bee book as well as your family traditions. 👍 Thank you for the tag~
I'm waiting for the movie "Mr. Hyde Stole Christmas". Also I used to read a lot of WWII books and The Forgotten Soldier looks really interesting. Thank you -James & Bella
Thank would be a great idea for a movie! I've read the Forgotten Soldier I think 3 times. Great book if you are into that sort of thing. Best wishes and happy reading.
Thanks for doing this tag and your kind words Nigel. I love your answers. Good thinking on the comedy book. As you say, books have to have conflict for us to enjoy reading them. But they aren't joyful. The Puritan names are interesting and amusing. Especially that long one. I also struggle with classic books because many don't go into the heads of the main characters. I want to know why they do what they do. It is hard to think of a meaner character than Mr. Hyde
Thanks for the tag Stuart. Yes the character Mr Hyde is very interesting idea. Most of his 'bad' acts are off screen so we are left to. wonder what they are. The premise that it is the distilled 'badness' of the original Dr Jekyl is very cool. Makes us think that we al have a bit of Mr Hyde in us and we have to be careful not to let him take over - just a thought!
LOL interesting book and would definitely give one some giggles. Wow some interesting facts as well. Just read Jekyll and Hyde last year for the first time, was a great read. Nice to see I am not the only one who doesn't buy new. Lovely to hear you found a book that began your reading journey - school libraries so important. I read Count of Monte Christo in Grade 8 our novel study - amazing read, but our version was not 1000 pages. Definitely don't see that kind of novel as novel studies in schools now. Enjoyed hearing your answers.
