    Fortunately with me i almost have the 30 substantial years actually i have about 32 yrs in but not all substantial yrs in and no penalty. I feel sorry for those who can only make so much even though they have paid into the system for years.

    Get these anti-WEP & GPO politicians out of office! I’m being screwed by these programs-twenty years working in the corporate sector on Wall Street, then 20 years in teaching. Instead of a full Social Security check, $1600+, I get a whopping $439! Teachers, firefighters, and police perform the most critical jobs in society! What an injustice. What kind of society would we have If we didn’t have teachers, police, or firefighters?

    Support the teachers . Firemen and policemen along with others that need the support . Teachers, policemen and firemen would not consider going into these profession because of this wept .

    I know how hard you work, but I'll believe it when it's actually signed. If signed, will it take affect in January 2023?

    My husband passed away in 2018 and I received his social security death benefit of $1600 dollars and was told that was for life. I have been raising my 4 grandchildren. I was a teacher for over 22 years. When covid hit, I decided needed to retire at 69, not knowing they would not continue to give me the benefits because of GPO. The cost of living is extremely high in California, I feel I was lied to.

    So this means the firemen, policemen and teacher are helping to fund people on social security this is definitely wrong. Looks like social security would be broken

    I worked and paid most of my quarters before I worked on the fire dept. I kept on working a second job and paid social security and worked and paid after I retired . As far as I am concerned the government of the United States is stealing from me!! Out and out theft! Please get me the money I earned and deserve This is not a hand out!!!

    Ok, this is what you do, all schools etc that did not put into social security, start paying into social security which in turn will help social security along with HR 82, which will help people and fund social security, not rocket science, plain and simple

    Why can't you convince your 2 US Senators to back this effort. Unfortunately will probably fail in Senate, unable to get 60 votes. Thanks Texas, Kentucky, Florida Utah etc Senators.

      Sounds like someone who's SS I'm subsidizing by having 468.00 per month of my EARNED benefits taken because I went into teaching as a second career. What they do to one group of us, can be done to another group in the future. Maybe you.

    • @eugeneahearn8299
      @eugeneahearn8299 Год назад

      @@paulacooper976 I doubt that. Its a good law, made by good people. You couldn't start a second non-FICA career without signing the statement acknowledging WEP and GPO. And then you conveniently forget it? Biden will fix that, for union votes.

      @@eugeneahearn8299 It didn’t become a federal mandate to be presented Form SSA-1945 until 2005. I began my 2nd career as a teacher in 1988. Trust me. I was NOT told nor did I learn of it until 5 years before retirement. 23 years paying SS before teaching, single, planning my independence as a senior……I would NOT

      Have casually blown it off and forgot about it. WEP began in 1977. How would you like losing 468.00 per month by such an asinine law? If it were so good, why didn’t the creators include themselves? They each paid in SS before becoming PUBLIC SERVANTS. Why are they able to get both but not firefighters, policemen, teachers, public employees and foreign pensioners? Why are people who have private pensions (that taxpayers are bailing out right and left) not having their SS stolen from any 2nd career?
