Has it been considered that younger retirees were affected by WEP while older retirees do get to draw their or their spouses social security yet they are getting a higher % raise? Most younger retirees cannot draw social security & they are getting less % COLA. Thanks for all the hard work that has gone in to this & the updates.

I retired in 2022 and will not be receiving a COLA. I’m glad some retirees will be receiving funds. What about all retired teachers. It cost everyone to live. I don’t think it’s fair.

Well people that get TRS retirement should all get a supplemental check and I’m 70 in July

COLA is a permanent adjustment to your monthly check. You will get that increase the rest of your life. Supplements are one-time payments; this time they are for those over age 70.

Why is TRS going by the year a teacher retires to provide a COLA? Social Security gives everyone a COLA. Regardless of the year someone retires every retiree’s cost of living has increased and are effected by the current economy, inflation, and should not receive less or be punished for retiring after someone else or potentially working longing than others. As retirees we have all put in time, dedication, effort, hard work, due-diligence, and we all should receive compensation and merit. Like I said this doesn’t make sense to me. Please respectfully reconsider modifying or amending this policy to ensure and facilitate unbiased and fair distribution and pays homage to all hardworking retirees who have honestly earned it and are a beacon of honor, diligence, and paved the way for future generations.
