Hexfire isn't bad either. Grey Knights look differen't from all those other Space Marine as do Tzeentch sorcerers. Only ten more Kyric Accolytes are lame.
That´s how different opinions can be. I actually liked both factions from "piety and Pain" and "Dominion". On the other hand, I have to say that I like almost every new mini that GW releases. Their sculprint made some serious improvements.
Thanks for this Naomi! I was intrigued to see the plastic in the boxes. I'm glad they're multi-part kits with options, as it makes for a fairly unique team at that point.
I love them! All of these models look so incredible. I can't wait to load up on these guys for my guard army. Thanks for the great and detailed video as always 😃
Thanks Naomi as tonight, about an hour ago I ordered up one of these sets for the terrain but never knew there to be more Orks plus Kreigsmarines which I'll probably sell on as they are not my cup of tea but I know a guy that is into them.
The beanie hat is designed to resemble WWII British Commandos - check the latest Bolt Action Commando boxset ;) I hoped you might mention how easy the DCoK are to magnetise, The Plasma and Melta both use the same right arm, of which there is only one provided...
Thank you for sharing your builds. I am hopeful that the production units are cleaner on mold lines/flash than the pre-production units that GW sent out to everyone for review purposes, otherwise ... there is a lot of time that will need to be invested in simple clean up before painting. :(
The models look fantastic!, and the terrain definitely has a nice Orky feel to it. Unfortunately, I’m still grumpy with GW so I won’t be picking this up. For the folks who do get it, it looks like a well designed and executed set, and I hope they enjoy it!
Very nice to have my impressions of the models based on the images of the sprues confirmed. As for arm bitz that make magnetizing fiddly due to them being required for multiple weapon options, I strongly suggest reusable thermoplastic molds ("Blue Stuff", Oyumaru, etc.) for epoxy putty casts.
Lost a bid on both the terrain and the Orks on eBay this week unfortunately, I really need to get some other stuff before I start an Ork army anyhow I guess, but I really do love the models in this set even if I have no real desire to play kill team
@@B__C__ Three baracades and three pile-of-trash pieces of scatter terrain, right? (Plus the workshop itself but that's not in the Kill Team box) That's what I got in my kit.
I can almost guarantee that they are on separate sprues. By them each having their own sprue per army/unit allows GW or any other manufacturer to later sale them in separate boxes for their individual units. From a business standpoint the up front costs of creating multiple injection moulds are very easily offset by long term sales of the individual unit boxes shortly after this limited edition box is gone.
@@Winterydee You say that, but the only way to get Primaris Supressors is by buying the old Vanguard start collecting box or the newer space marine combat patrol; they're part of a sprue with a lieutenant and infiltrators
@@Draekal The OP was asking if the Orks were on one sprue and the Kreig were on another sprue. That was what my reply was focused on. I never said anything about GW doing smart long term planning for their manufacturing. Your example is a perfect one of them putting short term capital investment cost above longer term sales and profits. I never said that GW was smart about manufacturing and/or marketing, an you helped to give us a very good example of how badly they can be at doing that.
Those Krieg boys' sculpts look sharp indeed! (might have to get me a box when they debut separately :D ) I agree the magnets looks feasible, (and maybe even appealing to a small kill team starter-up) but after numerous mag projects involving minis throughout the past 2 years, I'm almost converted into just buying more kits. Maximum effort.
That’s ok man there are lots of Ork players who would love to buy the terrain from you on ebay 😁 I might sell the imperial guard on ebay to Guard players who will enjoy them more than me
Naomi, about all those ork noggins, how do they compare size-wise with older boyz and nobz? I found the beast snagga boyz heads to be about 3/4 the size of the current/older boy's heads, and so ended up using older and some third party heads on the batch I put together just so they fit with the rest of my 90+ boyz.
Hi Naomi congrats for another good vid. Tbh i dont have good feelings bout this KT new version. And i dont like this new box. But thanks a lot i always appreciate your efforts and passion about miniatures games.
I'm kinda new to this, would it be easier for me to paint them *before* I assemble them? The minis look great but getting in and around some of that detail looks pretty daunting. :3
It really depends on each model, so as you're assembling, decide where you think you can manage when it's assembled and where you can't. I'm more for fully assembling wherever I can for infantry infantry but it's a bit of a trial and error process to learn your own comfort level of partially hidden details. (Paint the hidden details first in their base colour(s) and then move out into the easy-to-reach sections! You don't need to highlight anything hidden because in the model's world perspective, no light would reach there anyway!)
Oh, and generally, you would assembly them to near completion, no matter their pose. It would only be a random weapon or backpack that would be left off
@@swordnsteele712 Thanks again for all the help, I really do appreciate it! Do you have any plans for a painting tutorial for Kill Team Octarius or can you recommend any videos on your channel that are kinda' close please? :D
So say you wanted to use these komandos in a normal 40K army, would that essentially require making them into komandos instead of specialists? As in all 40K komandos can be used in kill team with out issue but all kill team komandos because of the specialist options cant be used in 40K?
If they're all holding the same weapon and you specify pregame that they are standard troops, it shouldn't matter whether you assemble them specialist or troop :)
Anyone know if the commandos going to get there own release , I only want the orks , if so how long ? The box looks really good I've still got beast snaggas set, Dominion, and blood bowl to paint so I'm going to restrain myself from this one
You said there were 20 ork heads. Is it 10 "masked" versions and 10 "unmasked" versions? Asking because I think I would prefer without the helmet/mask on the orks.
Hmmm some of those terrain pieces look just like the ones that came with the Speed Freaks box awhile back. I mean I use those pieces all the time in games so they are great, but it feels a little lazy for GW to reuse them. Still overall a good set. I just wish the new rules were as strong lol.
Dang! I need to find a beautiful woman like you to play against! This kit is awesome, I'm a wolves player but I think I need to start another army hahaha!
It would seem that Warhammer is the dream catcher as to what has happen over the millennia describes takes into consideration what has happen I do not suspect this krieg kill team would be here now if nuclear spills never would of happen nuclear warfare I suppose. Any who it's been messy so that what makes and is why Warhammer is how it is today now. So sure we got extra models but was it worth it no.
The Kriegers look indeed tempting. Would've be cool to have some size comparisons, are Primaris still considerably larger than these new models? Thanks for the video!
First GW set in recent memory where I like both factions.

HA! I didn't notice that sprue piece on the wall until you mentioned it here, luckily didn't prime them yet
They're some really nice minis. The Kommandos especially, imo. Love the terrain too

Super cool Kommandoz and terrain. My interest in the Krieg dudes stands and falls depending on we getting a full plastic range for Imperial Guard.
I doubt there will be a full range of plastic Krieg only because it’s a huge money maker for forge world but we can hope

And I received what I ordered with no miniatures - so just as I wanted more terrain to fill my Ork board.
Thanks for describing the extra bitz! Been looking for a video with that info. Definitely going to preorder now!
Always a joy to watch one of your videos! Thank you for the upload. Hope you are having a wonderful day!

They do use the same arm, but they have separate hands, so you can magnetize them at the wrists 👍🏻

A kit with loads of extra bits is a welcome change after the Beastsnagga boyz kit in the Beastsnagga box set.
Thx again for this amazingly detailed review.

Looks like a great set, especially the orks and Krieg. Those complete "off-the-sprue" pieces of scatter terrain are from the Mek Boy workshop kit.
Only some of them. I have that kit right behind me. Some look new or perhaps from another kit. (Speed Freaks box maybe?)

great review , a assembly guide would look great ,or a copy of white dwarf
If there's a will there's a magnetizable possibility.
Brilliant video on a brilliant set.
It looks so cool I want to get in to the hobby
Where some of the guard bits on the ork sprue? I was under the impression that these too will be release as stand alone kits down the road.
If I recall correctly, the sprues were completely separate 👍🏻

Will they release the ork and krieg miniatures separately eventually or will they be only in the octarius box?
My assumption at this point is that they will come separately in the future 🤔
They have stated they will be separate releases for everything* in the box.
*not the Octarius campaign book

Very strange choice, to not allow you to assemble the Kriegsmen as shown on the box. That's very un-GW like.
