*I lost 120 pounds in 2018 on a Carnivore Diet, I maintained that in 2019. In 2020 I struggled with some weight gain and then lost it again in 2021. For the last few years I have been maintaining a healthy weight. In December 2022 I had skin removal surgery (tummy tuck). This channel just documents all of that journey and how our family lives normal lives and eats a meat based diet.

for those who are curious, eggs in most parts of Europe are not washed prior to being sold, this keeps the protective membrane on the egg so that it safe to keep at room temps. In Canada and the US eggs are washed prior to being sold and this means they can not be stored at room temps more than 2 hours or they can go bad quickly causing you to become sick. Milk is pasteurized in both North America and Europe however in NA its not heated to the same VERY high temps as in Europe. in NA its heated enough to kill "most" bacteria but not all, and therefor must be kept refrigerated, in Europe they heat the milk to a much higher temp killing ALL bacteria thus giving it a much longer shelf life and it can be kept at room temps. I was raised on a farm and prefer raw milk and cheese produced using raw milk ( butter etc) it is MUCH better for us and we can better digest it, unfortunately the dairy cartels took over in the 60's and well here we are with dairy now being the leading cause of childhood constipation in north America. The more you know :)
You're talking about UHT milk which can be years at room temperature. There's also pasteurized fresh milk in most supermarkets here in Spain which has to be kept cold and has a much shorter shelf life
In the UK most people buy fresh pasteurised milk which has to be refrigerated.
Pasteurised milk isn't fresh!
RAWmilk is fresh and healthy.
@@PeCo333 raw milk isn't always healthy and has a very short shelf life so is Impractical unless you live on a farm.
@@jacquibrown4271 That is not my experience. I buy raw milk and cream regularly and they last similarly to regular pasteurized milk when stored in the fridge. Very few instances of raw milk making people sick although there are a lot of instances of non raw milk cheese making people sick as well as other agricultural products that people continue to buy despite the fact that they have been recalled multiple times for making people sick with e-coli and campylobacter. Spinach, lettuce and melons have been recalled time after time and no one says don't buy them.
I literally just looked it up and so many conventional products are being recalled right now for contamination from bacteria. Big corps like Cargill have their meat recalled for contamination regularly. The only milk product I found recalled was a batch of Sheep's milk from a small sheep milk dairy. I haven't tried sheep milk but it would be a very small market for this. In any case raw milk dairies are scrutinized heavily for cleanliness and illness in their dairy cows. That is why there is less contaminated raw milk getting on to the shelves than any other agricultural product.
The chicken has it‘s yellow colour because it‘s been fed corn excusively 🥰 we have that Type of chicken in Germany as well, it‘s concidered very good!
I understand that yellow fat means a high beta carotene content from living on pasture and feeding on grasses a lot.
It couldn’t be really good chicken because chickens are what they eat so it would completely depend on rather than eating organic corn
Corn fed!!
Wow! Your son looks just like you and your daughter just like your husband! I could see it in the first. Part of the video in the car. Very neat that your family gets to experience things in another country, what an adventure!
I agree. I noticed that too.
My uncle was a grocer, my grandmother was a wonderful French cook they both told me to buy the yellowest chicken, my uncle said sign of freshness, grandmother said best flavor. Sadly the chickens we have available to us have a fraction of the chicken of my younger years. (I am 71)
It's a meat lover's paradise in that Costco!
the price of the iberic ham depends on what the pork is being fed with and the difference is in the taste and quality. The most expensive ones are being fed outdoors with acorns. They are raised in a very specific places in Spain and they are treated like kings until their deaths. the taste of the meat of these porks are amazing. The one your husband took and didnt't know, carrilleras or carrillada, is for stew and once it is cooked you can also use it to make a very good rice. and the tenderloins are so so good!! Iberic pork is the best in the world and we eat everything, ears, hands, nose, guts....and the meat.
Wow, your Spain time has FLOWN!!!
In Baja Mexico marigolds seeds are fed to some of the chickens... thus yellow tinged. Marigolds are grown here.
9:30 those are the cheek pads and soft, tender gelatinous meat near the jawline and lower face of the pig, carrillada or carrilleras in Spanish
Beef cheeks 😋
🌟🌟🌟Laura, you are truly going above and beyond…going to Costco‼‼I just love the way you think‼
Weber makes an electric BBQ grill the model is Q2400 !
My girlfriend, Elviira, of Low Carb, So Simple in Finland just purchased one perfect for balcony and patio‼Wow
Wow‼Look at the 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸American Beef in Spain‼
Laura, if you want SKIN ON PORK BELLY at home🇺🇸NO PROBLEM, shop at a Chinese supermarket in Phoenix‼
So, very interesting seeing the € prices of meats! Thanks.

Great video!! Love the voiceover! Never thought that a Costco in Spain would look so similar to those in the U.S.😊
The yellow chicken is usually corn fed in the uk. It’s more expensive and the flavour is richer and the fat is delicious. You should try it for the flavour difference.
All US corn is GMO, not fit for anything to consume. Unfortunately, it's I most of our food here & why most of us are sick.
I think in Spain it should be non GMO corn as GMO is not readily accepted here and if I recall correctly, has to be labelled. Corn fed chicken in the uk is usually free range and organic and non GMO and costs approx 30% more. I was in Chicago recently and the size of the chicken breast was enormous, I was shocked as it wouldn’t come form a normal sized bird 😳
Saludos desde Barcelona, España. Lots of chicken here is white meat (more the free range kind, or organic ones, which here are called "ecologic") but the yellow ones tend to be cheaper since they're primarily fed corn, soy (mostly GMO ones or conventional feed) and people tend to prefer the fattier flavor. Of course they're linoleic acid laden and full of unhealthy PUFAs, so it's good for the palate but not your mitochondria
You're tour was so helpful, Laura, as we just joined that club!
That was so interesting! Thanks for sharing this experience!
Thank you for doing this, Laura! Very grateful. Gives me inspiration and comfort to know there’s strong potential for lots of good traveling while maintaining carnivore and animal based for my family.
❤WOW!!! Enjoyed the video and the tour!! That pork belly looked so good! And those pork rinds were amazing!!! Thank you for the video
That was fascinating! Thank you, Laura!
So cool seeing a Costco in Spain. Thank you for taking us along.
Wonderful comparison, thanks!
You are so articulate and knowledgeable
How fun was that?! Thanks for taking us along!
Very cool to get to go to Costco with yunz. You and your husband look amazing by the way. Your weightloss transformations are awesome!!! Love your show...love to see what your carnivore journey looks like❤❤❤
I love Spain! Made the mistake of visiting Seville at the hottest point of the year, it was so hot! We still had a blast. Have fun!
What a beef & pork selection! 🥩
Welcome to Spain!
Love that seafood and meat dept.
Great video, that Costco was so awesome
Thank you for this great experience to see a Costco in Spain.
Pork rinds here have heaps of carbs and other additives. Loved your meat shop. 👏🇦🇺
How fun to see the similarity with US shopping! Laura's Spanish is very good at this point! I would love to be able to live in Spain like a local! What a great experience. ❤
I'm convinced that it would be so much easier to be Carnivore most places BESIDES the US. I'm at a stage where I don't really like beef anymore. The aversion has lasted a long time. I do more chicken and pork. I LOVE ham but ham is not very 'healthy' here in the US.
If you can find local beef, it makes such a difference.
I go to a butcher, but I can't get fresh chicken, ham, sausage without preservatives, etc. If I didn't have this darn beef aversion, it wouldn't bother me as much
Spain is not Uber friendly for Vegans, that is true 😂
Really interesting comparison 😊
I’ve been to Costco in Iceland a few times. Pretty much the same as the US!
there IS a costco in Japan too! we had African friends who lived in Japan for 8 years. Their 4 year old daughter did not eat our African and Americanfood or use silverwear, so the parents said " if we can go to costco we can get what she will eat. " Yikes ` who knew, in America we could get Japandi food and some essentials like Ovaltine. for their Japan born Ghana girl. ( we are Nigerian though and still have chopsticks, asian soup spoons and appropriate 'bowls'😗😗)
Kids have to learn to adapt. A friend of mine moved to Italy from London, and she'd request cans of tinned spaghetti for her kids. The kids didn't like italian spaghetti. 😂 Eventually they adapted, but how embarrassing it was to bring heinz tinned spaghetti shapes in tomatoe sauce to Italy on the plane. 😂
I can usually find the skin on whole pork belly at my Costco business center in Vegas. And a ton more bulk meat options. Might be worth a look when you get back home.
Yea, I think that’s because there is more of a Mexican influence in the west
As a 20 year Costco employee and department manager I found this very interesting. If you have a Costco Business Center near you in Florida they should have the “Skin on Pork Belly”.
Laura lives in Phoenix, Az‼
I'm in Alaska and the closest business center is in Anchorage, a 6-8 hour drive, depending on which highway you take and how much construction is happening.
We get Picanha from our South Carolina Costco all of the time, love it ❤️
Cadera is hip from the Cow.
You're welcome !!
You can find pichana at Wild Fork, is actally a Brasilian cut of meat.
I found NY extra sharp white cheddar and have ordered it from the Cuba Cheese company in New York
Thanks for this! I'm always interested to see what products Costco in other countries has. Here in Australia, milk in supermarkets is refrigerated but eggs usually aren't. However in Costco the eggs are in the fridge, at least my local one. Our beef mince is 9.99/kg at our Costco (around $3/lb in US dollars) and is the cheapest anywhere apart from a really good clearance deal.
I just saw the pork belly at our Costco in Parker, CO. I’ve never seen it there before.
The Coastal cheese below your hand when you showed the Wyke cheese is a sharp cheddar. We have that one here in Phx. I like it, but hb prefers the Dubliner. Both are European cheeses, so made well.
We can get the Picana with fat cap in San Diego at the Costco Business Centers only. YUM
Yellow chicken, atleast in the UK is normally corn fed
In Spain too. Corn fed
Omg😋😋😋😋 I listen to your videos while walking and by the time I get home, I'm starving!!! 😅😅😅
99 ranch market in chandler has skin on pork belly and it’s a good price too.
I don't know about Arizona, but in Illinois I find skin on pork belly at the Asian Markets. 🙂
90% of our pork belly in Australia has the skin on it, and it is really unusual to find it trimmed. 😋 Thanks for the tour.
Yes! I was going to say the same thing! 🇦🇺
Wow! It looks so good that we are thinking of making the trip from Portugal! Did you see if they have beef tallow there? We couldn't find any in Portugal.. thank you 🙏
Try lidl or Aldi supermarkets (both are German chains) or mercadona (a Spanish chain).
Laura! Your hair is getting so long!!❤
that was awesome
always curious what the costcos are like over that side from a carnaivore perspective
Swooning! I’m pretty sure Edam is what the original red babybels are! Its been a minute since i looked it up though, so dont hold me to it 😅
You can get the pork belly with skin on at the Business Costco.
Laura, loved this video! I always have a hard time staying keto/carnivore when I'm in Spain. The potatoes always get me. If you don't mind me sharing, the cheese is Man-che-go. Only one N. ❤
Awesome..Thank ❤❤❤
I lived in Spain for two years Madrid for a year, thanks for sharing this. No Ac made me laugh because I never had any while I lived there.
Great video! I'm with the kids on the octopus. Not my favorite. Lol. I do love seafood and will eat octopus if it were served to me, but there are too many other options to enjoy. Safe travels!
I buy pork belly from Costco but it is thick sliced, it's delicious.
Looks exactly like the one I go to in London Ontario Canada, except the seafood.
Yellow cheese is an "American" thing. Most Americans see cheddar as being yellow so annatto is usually added here in the states. In order countries most of the sharp cheddar is white.
My happy place.
So interesting😊
Cheddar gets its color from annatto, not age.
You’re making my mouth water.
Edam cheese is the bomb!!!
Did you get the Picanha?
Picanha is about $6.99 lb Costco in Houston, Tx
The yellow chicken is fed corn.
i love watching your videos, you're a wonderful woman
I think Spain is agreeing with you.
Good video
Thank you for this I live in Portugal and I was happy to watch this cause I can go there but it is MEMBERS ONLY? Or it is open to the public?
I got a two pack of the whole picanha with the fat for $6.99 a lb at Costco. Great deal and first time seeing it…maybe yours will have it too when you get back.
Skin on pork belly at the Costco Business Center in the US.
Those yellow chickens were raised on corn only
Good morning
I can get whole picanha with fat cap in Louisiana. One of my favorites.
Jealous! A friend of mine can find it in Houston too but we've never seen it!
I can get it in New Hampshire too!
Thanks and new subbie here
Your Costco visit was interesting, but what about the hotdog from the food court?
Picanha in Florida $6.99 lb
The variety and quality looks better. While in Spain the best cheese to eat is Manchego.
No way would they allow a BBQ grill on a balcony. The community would certainly phone the police.
So when is your job done in Spain?
Amazing how all these Costco's around the world look the same.
We have 3 more weeks here, it's gone by so fast!
Odd that their meat has USDA stickers. You’d think they would have their own inspectors.
What do you eat on a long plane flight?
Great video and can you give us some few meals to fix to drop wright I need 60 pounds and maybe I can reverse some of the illnesses I’ve gain
She has TONS of recipe videos and meal plan videos, just search her video library.
Yes check out my What I Eat Playlist, there are tons of videos going back YEARS all just showing meal ideas.
This is how I felt when I went to ikea in the Us being from Europe 😂 not expecting it to be so similar
😂 IKEA is big here too
I think that label on the chicken means it has been fed vegetables, rather
How lucky are Spanish people, having Costco!!
No aircon in Madrid 😬
USDA choice in Spain?
Fraction of the flavor
No hooves in our costco.😮
❤
What or how do you get a work from home job? Plus, did you say why you guys are in Spain for 3 months?
We are here for my corporate job, they have an office here and they sent me to work here for a few months.
My Costco in Pittsburgh has picanha. So, not just Florida.
Can you use your American Cotsco membership over there?
Yes!!
