Right on guys good for you..that's what its all about right there.. that's why we all hunt these fish.. got the new peach dead egg from you guys been killing it on my local river. Thanks.
Very nice job gentlemen. I was a little surprised when one of you guys whacked the fish, not that I think there's anything wrong with that, you just don't see much of that lately, taking fish, I mean, but it's your river and you know it best I'm sure. I was also a little surprised by your float rigs too, the centrepin most particularly. Where I fish in the Great Lakes tribs, there's a real prejudice against using such heavy line and muscling fish, though I often wish I could because it would probably result in more fish surviving release. . .though, admittedly, I've never tried beefing up the gear, simply because I don't know how successful I'd be otherwise. Anyway, nice job fellas.
Awesome video! I am not sure if you guys are in Oregon but if you are it definitely looks like the same river I used to fish while going to OSU! I have never ran a boat that high above the confluence, but I was just curious if you put in on the North Fork? Or the south fork? Thanks for the watch!
Looks like the guy with the center pin is using a bobber doggying setup but is using the 3-way swivel just to help him get his presentation down just like standard bobber/float fishing......or he's bobber dogging. Back in the day i use to use hollow core pencil lead but then I just switched to a three-way snap swivel and put the pencil lead on the snap swivel. Its just a little easier.
Hows your hook-to-land ratio using beads? Those fish put up a really great fight and still stayed pinned. If I had a fish do that to me I'd have probably lost him!
Your video makes me sad that it April. I want to catch winter steelhead. Sure would like a hint on the name of best coastal rivers. I've only tried the rivers in the southern Willamette Valley
Elevated hey... Awesome Steelheading. So are you dead drifting those beads or dragging them? Looks like dead drift, like you would fish a jig. So you're not bobber dogging where you're dragging your lead or touching the bottom? I'm just starting bead fishing and I've seen both and could use some help. Thanks.
No. Mostly dead drift or regular float fishing. We might drag through the shallow top end of a hole and the tail out but for the most part a nice drag free drift. 👍
@@ElevatedFishing oh ok, right on. Very cool. And it doesn't look like you run any split shot between your main weight and bead. Or double leader set up. You got it down, I've watched a few of your videos. You definitely have the presentation down. I think one of my problems is I'm dragging too much and should try a dead drift presentation more. Big rivers like the Cowlitz this time of year I thought the bobber dogging (dragging) method was what guys are doing but maybe I'm over doing it. Thanks for your help. Great vids. I'll check out your products too. Peace, ✌️
@@hooks4nooks I do know guys who bobber dog the Cowlitz and do well. Both work but having the single weight and no split shot will help keep stuff on the bottom.
So are you guys regular float fishing with those beadmasters floats by hawken or bobber dogging them I’m confused... I see you guys are running tangle free weights to.
@@ZSIY We use size 2 gami light wire for our 10mm and 12mm beads. For 14mm and 16mm beads we use size 1 gami light wire hooks. For low clear water we would run size 4 gami light wire hooks with 8mm or 10mm beads.
@@fishonjon541b2 if you want to sustain the fishery you practice catch and release. Then it's all keeping the fish as healthy as possible which a net helps with!
@FishonJon541 Fuck Trimming lol if you do it with hatchery fish I have a hard time believing you don't do it with wild. If you do treat wild fish with respect props to you, and I apologize for the comment. I would like to say though that it's not your fishery it's everyone's. Everyone needs this mentality. Murdering this river! Nice video and beautiful steelhead. I can't wait to catch one! It looks like u guys were using beads only, do you guys recommend beads for a first timer?

Beads...not eggs. Pegged beads. It is a big time method nowadays. Might be the best way to to catch steelhead, and pegging them virtually ensures these amazing fish are not hooked deeply. You must not have fished steelhead recently or you would have been able to identify this super popular method instantly. Some of the guys in this video make the best beads on the market today. I have tried every bead available and Steelhead Stalkers are in my humble opinion the best beads you can get. I don't know these guys, never met em, and don't get a discount for saying this. But I thank them right now for making a kick ass product that I have used to hook a lot of steelhead with. So I digress...they are not "eggs".
you guys got the right idea
Need to try some of these beads this season!
Finally some pnw fishing done right! Can’t wait to see you guys grow! Seriously awesome content
Dope editing Chad! Really impressive. Daniel has come out of his shell, he said more than two words! Great video guys, love your stuff.

Love how you guys capture bobber going down!! that is what makes me want to go chase steelhead. I live in Salem hope some day I can meet you guys..

great music, great cinematography

Oregon

30lb Fireline ultra 8. 👍
Nice to see some solid steelhead action. I’m guessing this is southern Oregon, hopefully the run continues strong for you.
Look to small to be the rogue and I don't think the Applegate is open. But those are some great lookin steelies
C F Willamette possibly
Looks like a northwestern costal river like the Siletz but way inland. Doesn't look like the willamette or Clack or Sandy.

maybe your next video could be cooking them? that last one was big enough to steak.
Love the centrepin, long rods and technique, and you say float too, rather than bobber. Some civilised "bait" fishing going on here.

Firelin ultra 8 in 30lb for west coast rivers. 👍
