This was so well written. Whoever wrote this script has known love and heartbreak. They have also witnessed many things in life that have made them wise. Fu heng asked Wei Yingluo, "Why"? How could he forget that he met her and gave her back her sachet? He broke his promise to her. Wei Yingluo threw the sachet away, telling Fuheng that was what he had done to her, he threw her away, he threw away his promises ( Wei Yingluo left and had no idea he had retrieved the pouch). He was, by how the script was written, the only person she had truly loved and wanted to trust. He broke her heart and robbed her of her dignity. Wei Yingluo's responses to Fuheng were deep and he didn't catch it. She told him she didn't want to be a maid anymore. He, the only person she had loved, had broken his promises and left her alone, broken and stranded. What other options did she have? When Fuheng asked Wei Yingluo if her words were true she told Fuheng about meeting him and Erqing during the heavy snow. Wei Yingluo was walking and bowing in the heavy snow because the emperor falsely accused her of not truly loving Fuheng and tried to strip her of the only dignity she had left. Seeing the two of them together, during her punishment for admitting she truly loved him, forced her to face what Fuheng had done to her. Wei Yingluo also stood up to the emperor then and more often than Fuheng ever did. When the emperor forced Wei Yingluo to dress him, she rejected him. She was professional and indifferent to the emperor. She gave Fuheng so many opportunities to offer her options. At that meeting, she gave him opportunities. Later, when she told him she never got to wear the red dress, he had no comment. When she left the forbidden city and ignored the emperor, Fuheng shows up and tells her to go back..............He offered her no options with him. Wei Yingluo, at one time, told the emperor that the concubines lied when they said all his children were their children to. I believe Wei Yingluo lied when she said she killed Erqing to avenge the queen. I believe she did it to avenge the queen, Fuheng and herself. I am going to rewatch this movie. The messages are so deep. Wei Yingluo was left with only two choices in life. Be a servant or the emperors concubine. And the man she loved kept showing up in her life and giving her more heart ache. She didn't stop loving him. There was simply nothing she could do about it.
