Luck and Strange
The new Comfortably Numb guitar solo in my opinion. Never thought he would have topped it. His best song and solo in decades
Yes ! It’s my second best :) Comfortably Numb, that song and In Any Tongue. I hope that he will play that song in New York City.
In a single track, Gilmour gave us an acoustic guitar solo, an electric guitar solo, and a FUCKING ELECTRIC GUITAR SOLO!!
David Gilmour is the greatest to ever do it I won’t be told otherwise 🐐
This great man has been a big part of my life for more than 25 years. I’m flying all the way from Australia to the US to see him live. This song is truly amazing and full of emotions and surprises too. On one hand, my hero is singing about fragility and running out of time and yet he delivers his most powerful guitar solo in decades.
It's right up there, that solo. Literally right up there.
Good to see someone reacting viscerally to the sublime guitar skills of David Gilmour. "I didn't want it to end" echoes the sentiments of all those who've ever listened to the creations of this most amazing musical genius.
One of his most emotional solos
Literally that second level of the solo at 5:45 on the track made me cry, literally made me gasp for air
I had the same reaction to the solo, its incredible, DG at his absolute best.
78 years old and still delivers such a solo pure magic ❤️
David gilmour the GOAT 🐐
This monumental solo left me breathless, speechless and with tears in my eyes. And in the context of this song, and this album, it's hard not to this solo as a farewell.... Emotionally that's how I feel about it.
Who needs lyrics when
you've got that incredible guitar that says so much.
Straight to the ❤️.
The production on this album is gorgeous.
Best song on a great album. I’m there in LA for the October 25 show!
I agree!! I love it!!
...il Paradiso esiste..... è qui, concentrato in un assolo!!!...senza parole,ma con le lacrime agli occhi.. Grazie David!!!
I was in floods of tears hearing this for the first time. Great vide man.
Same reaction Dude ! Had to leave the office to express my feeling alone... God bless David Gilmour !
When the Rick Wright keyboard parts came in I knew right from the beginning I’d be in for an emotional ride. The solo when it merged from acoustic to electric primed me, then at 5:45 when he comes in with that majestic note, not sure what guitar pickups he was using but it sent a bolt of lightning right through my soul. I’m sitting having some eggs and had to stop what I was doing to take some deep breaths thinking, damn, he did it again.
magic
I hope time doesn't disobey him.I hope the light keeps shining on him for as long as possible. He has given me over 50 years of pleasure.
Mi chiedo come lo Zio David riesca a farmi piangere per quanto sia MERAVIGLIOSO con la sua voce e la sua CHITARRA .....MI STRAPPA L ANIMA E IL CUORE ❤❤❤❤
Inspiring!
I love this man’s reaction. It was the same for me but I’m much older at 55. The lyrics have special meaning for us older people dealing with the passage of time and mortality. The guitar solo is fabulous as it should be from the master. This man’s playing has moved me since a young boy. This is a fantastic album. Mature, organic and the playing is stellar. Bravo David. Thank You
I don't understand why everyone on RUclips doesn't react to this song.
Thanks!
You got it kid! Embrace the musical magic....
Bro, I'm so glad you reacted to this track. I've been actively trying to avoid hearing any of this until I got the album in hand, but I'm happy I watched your upload. This song was fan-fuckin-tastic! I'm right there with you, being a massive fan of Floyd and Gilmour since I really delved into the catalogue when I turned 10 around 1990, amassing a collection of as many bootlegs, rarities, etc as I could, and this song is right up there with the best, regardless of era! I LOVED this!
When the solo starts I feel like you, I can cry every time I hear it
What a brilliant song! I know it's Gilmour being Gilmour, but there are so many little reminders of previous songs in this one. The heartbeat at the start of Dark Side of the Moon, the synth from Echoes at the start, the short guitar chords like in Shine On, the move from acoustic to electric like High Hopes ... and the transition does sound a little like Gilmour's solo in The Final Cut, and a little trip down the scale at the end of the solo like the solo from Money.
I don't know if its deliberate, intentional or coincidental ... but it doesn't matter. It's just a brilliant song from a great album.
Right there with you, brother.
Fantastic track all the way through the heart beats the echoes sound so at the start then the the guitar solo makes my hair stand on edge and so emotional as it builds, it’s epic
68 year old Floyd here,... saw them live twice, one time was "The Wall" February 1980 at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. The most phenomenal live performance I've ever seen.
Saw lots of Classic Rock bands in my life, no one on Pink Floyds' level, imo. Being an amateur Classic Rock and Blues guitarist, David Gilmour has a very special place in my heart!
(I copy him all the time, lol).
78 😊
Pure epicness
I just did a search for a reaction to this song specifically and figured there wouldn't be one. Well, here you are! Congratulations, you are the only one out there. Looks like I am your 20th subscriber.
Echoes, Breath and Wish You Were Here at the intro. Magical ❤
Richard Wright is happy and smilying in heaven.
É algo mágico...the perfect combination!
I Keiton! Write ti you from Italy. And excuse my basic english.
I am not alone in this world! My first reaction the last friday when i ear this MASTERPIECE ita the same of you: goosebumps!! Like yesterday, like today like forever.
I have really fear to ear this piece live in Rome next october 2. Very fear for my heart. Thank you ti exist. Long life to David!!
I will see you at the show on 2 October! I'm flying over from Australia, because I think I'll never get another chance. I'll drop over to the Vatican when I get there and pray this song gets played and there's an extended solo.
Que temazo amigo... Realmente una calidad impresionante. Con un solo que te da en pecho como una flecha...abrazo
I got some good news for you man, he said in a joint interview (source The Independent) with his wife Polly that this won't be his last album (I thought that too previously). He's also hinted that there will be more tour dates next year. Ftr, "Scattered" and "Between Two Points" are my favorite new album songs... keep rockin' man. 👍🎶
Exquisito. A todos se nos ilumina el alma con la guitarra de David Gilmour.
Good news is he plans to do another album soon ...(ish)
The lyrics are really moving but sang calmly and then the guitar screams out what wasn't screamed out by the vocals. Also the way he sings the last 'and it disobeys me' is really heartbreaking
When it comes to channelling feeling through string, Gilmour is King
It's so nice to see the younger generation getting into Pink Floyd, proving what I've always known: Pink Floyd is timeless. When you get a chance, go back to early Floyd and react to David's amazing composition, The Narrow Way (parts 1-3), on their Ummagumma album. The psychedelic sounds of parts 1 and 2 are something to behold, capped by the mesmerizingly beautiful part 3. I really think you'll enjoy this piece.
i just posted my reaction to this song!!
I don't think it's his last album, I heard that he has plans to go back into the studio after his tour for this album and begin recording his next album.
I have read that as well.
I imagine it will be his last tour. But then I thought that when I saw him in concert 8 years ago and I've just been proved wrong, so you never know... Hope we still get more music from him though.
@@bujin1977 I’ve just had an email that he is doing two shows in Brighton on the 20th and 21st September as part of the rehearsals, 1500 each show and £30 for a ticket, got the email cause I have tickets for London but I’m in Northumberland so Brighton’s out for me.
True! ❤
Explendido.. mestre das 6 cordas..pega esse solo de violao na cara esse de guitarra no estomago e esse ultimo um soco na Alma
Any other reactions y’all would like to see?
Poesia
I also like luck and strange it’s gives me like a dogs blue vibe
There’s little older Floyd motifs sprinkled all around this song, I heard the slow bridge section of dogs a little bit right before the acoustic guitar comes in. Those keyboard notes were actually from old Rick Wright recording tapes, reminded me of echoes, I got some On an Island in the solo, then the back half almost sounded like a homage to Sorrow. Idk if he was using his EMG strat or not. Phenomenal song, I can’t get enough of it rn
I miss Rick
If the phrase "a gentle soul" was reserved for anyone, it was for Rick. His legacy will endure.

Hey brother, just found your channel and subscribed. Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet but on this one and luck and strange, it is skipping a bunch of times. Not sure if this is by design to avoid copyright ( if so, it's not needed) or if it's technical with your recording.
BRILLIANT FULL STOP.
Unremarkable really, sounds like a pedestrian leftover from the division bell with a typical gilmour solo from that time. Nah, not impressed.
anyone else think he's kind of cute?
