What part of this year will dana point have glass water for a smooth run, non chopy ocean? I have a 12 foot aluminum boat, hoping you will know? Thanks
Hey Skip! I've been fishing hard out of Newport Landing charter boats the last 3 weeks for Mahi: 5 twelve-hour days over that time. The sardines from Newport Bait Barge seem... not good. They are covered in strange red spots, and are energetic in the bait tank on the charter boat but sit still in the water once casted. A friend of mine and long-time SoCal fisherman says these baitfish are not "seasoned" and are still too fresh and injured from the trawling process to be good bait for Mahi. They probably were caught in the trawler yesterday and sold the next day when they should have been given several days to heal in the barge before sale. Is there any truth to this? It's been so hard to catch Mahi on these weird sardines, I've casted into the middle and front of Mahi schools right next to the boat and still no bites.
@@YourSaltwaterGuide we’ve met several times. I don’t think you know the actual reputation you have. As many people who kiss your butt, there are probably ten times that number who don’t like you. I mean, listen to yourself in this video. You are telling people “how to act” at the bait barge. Who made you king of fishing? Your daddy?
Great stuff Dave. Can't believe I haven't seen your channel sooner. DP Bait and Fuel guys are the best. Tip them Well!!
thank you
“There’s only one guy that doesn’t like to sell bait that sells bait for a living” 🤣
