- Today we will build a simple jig together for the table saw that will allow us to safely cut this box lids . Really simple jig but really useful. This is not just for box lids, you can use this jig to create acute angles for table tops, desks , cabinets etc. #tablesawjig #woodworking #woodworkingprojects

Great video I learned so much got to try to make this jig
Wow beautiful boxes, very niiice. I had some questions but other videos you have here answered them. Thank You for sharing. Just seen a new finish on Stumpy Nubs channel you might like also, just the fact that it can dry in 2 minutes wow an like a poly. Anyway loved your video here and your channel.
Thanks for the video. I bought a couple of those clamps when they were on sale during Christmas. I would have to do mine different because I have the Incra fence system.
very good
Thanks
Excelentní práce a skvělý tutoriál Skyler, jste jednička!
That is really awesome. I always wondered how to make this. Now I know lol. Thanks for taking the time to show us!!! Peace
You are welcome
Thank you for showing how to do it. It will be a big help to me.
Glad it was helpful!
Another simple and useful jig presented as usual in your detailed and easy to understanding instructional video. My only practical issue is that I have an 8 1/4" Skilsaw table saw which limits me a little to just how wide a chamfer I can cut but for smallish boxes it works fine. Thinks.... one day I WILL upgrade to a 10" table saw!! :) Thanks Skyler
Thank you. Hope you can make it work for your table saw
I'm thinking that the fence on your saw, and not the blade diameter is going to be the limiter. I have a '60's Delta with the Jet-Lock fence that is only about an inch wide, and not the 3"+ you find on today's T-square style fences. I am still going to try it, as there are not attachments at either end of my fence restricting movement of the jig. As you say, the blade diameter may limit you to depth of cut forcing you to use smaller work pieces. That may negate the 'roadblocks' the jig will have at both ends of your saw fence...if I am picturing your saw and fence correctly. Honestly, I would still try building this jig, as it is truly multi-function and can do so many more things than just bevel box tops.
Excellent jig and I love how you explain everything so simple but in detail. I ll be building that one, thanks again
Glad you like it!
Las cosas que hacen son maravillosas un 10
Just put a new blade on my 2004 Steele City saw. Great video
Thank you
Good learning video, you have good ideas. thanks for sharing this one. keep up the good work.
Thanks William
Hi Skyler, a very informative demonstration. I like the way you take it step by step and explain as you build the jig. Then you show how to use the jig to make a raised lid effect. Thank you for the video looking forward to the next one.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you so much Roy. Sometimes I wonder if I overexplain and talk too much and videos get too long? Then I keep thinking back to when I was a very beginner and I couldn’t understand half of what people were talking in their tutorials. It’s a fine line….
I know how feel. When l did my training instructor course many years ago l felt the same. One thing I have always remembered was : Talk, Chalk and explain in that order. In today’s world you could replace show for chalk. You are doing great.
Thanks!
Thanks again Frank
Hi Skyler, it's GrOver. I really enjoyed this video , jigs make our work easier, more accurate and more repeatable . These are my favorite type of Sawdust and splinters videos. Keep smiling often.
Glad you enjoyed it
And thank you for your purchase and supporting this channel
Good tutorial, thanks.
Glad you liked it
And again - I ran a test piece on my Skilsaw with the 8 1/4" disc and using a 15 degree tilt I can produce a bevel width which is 1-1/8" wide (plan view dimension). On the smaller boxes I make which are approx 5-5/8" long by 3-3/4" wide this bevel width looks aesthetically a little bit small. To improve the look I changed the blade tilt to 10 degrees which increases the bevel width to 1-3/8" and the result looks more pleasing. I do like the look of these lids very much but for larger boxes I'm probably going to have to invest in a saw which will take a 10" diam blade or come up with a jig design to run a lid blank through my router fitted with a surfacing bit to create the bevel. The second option is probably the way I will go as its relatively inexpensive to build a jig and doesnt take up room in my already overcrowed small workshop. Thanks again Skyler for sharing this design feature :)
You are very welcome
You are talented and beautiful. Great video. ❤❤😊
Thank you so much 🤗
Hi Skyler , it's Grover again. Today I tested your homemade Products I purchased from you. The Board Butter, The Carnauba Wood finish and the Beeswax wood finish. How did you come up with that formula ? I'll be ordering more before you run out .
I have watched a lot of your videos and really like them. I just joined. Can't wait to learn all I can from you. You are my new HERO>..
Welcome aboard! And thank you very much for
Un saludo
A few adjustments and you can also do splines if you add the dovetail hardware
Yes. ....how do I do that?
@@woodworkingwithSkyler add some horizontal dovetail slots and it would be similar to the one I linked below. ruclips.net/video/3O-jkZ5QgJM/видео.htmlsi=TrBQ2DBtDNRuoXuD
@@woodworkingwithSkyleryou can also look at the base on microjig 360 crosscut sled to give you ideas.
I can see cutting tenon's with that jig, also. Seems very useful. I'm sure others will have uses for it, too. Maybe just call it Skylar's multi-purpose jig...?😂
:) I didn’t know what to call it. I said is a raised panel jig but I am sure that is not the correct term for it!
Me gustaría saber cómo lo hacen en español
Can you PLEASE reply with a weblink to the VEVOR “press” you use for gluing your laminate lids? I’m unable to find it on their website. Thank you!
I just added a link to it in the description of this video
My friend "Grover" recommended this channel, he said many complimentary things about you and this channel
