I love it Skyler finds the woodpecker jig aka “klunky”
It’s not as if she doesn’t like peckers stuff. Everyone makes a bad tool or two. Some make more.
Thankyou for the video! ill try to do it by myself too
cool, making one today
Thanks for the video, very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
A great video and superb jig, thank you so much. Stay lucky
Thanks teach. Precise and methodical. Good presentation and engaging thanks.
When I need a spline jig, I'll be making this one for sure. Thanks Skyler! :)
You are very welcome
Hi Dennis, thank you. I haven’t sold anything yet. As you can imagine is hard to sell wooden things to woodworkers. They can make all of this themselves
I've been needing a spline jig for a while. I like this design that rides on the fence better than the one I was going to build that rides in the table slots.
I like that better too. Pluss you can move the fence over if want a wider slot
Skyler, you are an excellent tutor. I really appreciate the time you take to teach these techniques for taking my woodworking to a higher level. You are very talented and knowledgeable. All while looking so pretty as you do it, too. Wonderful!
:) thank you for your kind comment

Great video! Ihave a small fence with a flip up piece, any ideas on how to make the sliding piece for that style?
Beautiful looking merchandise in your store. Keep it up, few of us can make boxes of that quality 😊
Thank you
Very nice, simple, well thought out jig. Love the new website. Your prices seem very reasonable. Best of luck with it
Thank you very much!
Hi Miss Sky! Great little jig.. I also checked out your store and was very impressed. Have you sold much yet?
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Dennis, no so far nothing. As you would imagine, its hard to sell wood things to woodworkers. No one else knows I have a website other then you guys
Oh and thank you!
Since you grew up using metric, does it bother you to use imperial? Which do you think is easier to use?
I like metric but forcing myself to use imperial
Do you have a jig to make the pyramid top lid that I see you put on your box? Your work is beautiful.
No, but I can make one
@@woodworkingwithSkyler That would be great. I'll keep watching for it. Thank you
While I may use glue on subassemblies, I never glue main frame components. I prefer to do things like having t-nuts or threaded inserts on my main fence straddle, and add specialized jigs as required. I also do not glue my 'straddle' as I feel like I have some adjustment if required.
I'm not saying this is a bad idea. I'm just saying I do it differently. This is the magic of wood working. There are any number of ways to solve a problem. Every one that works is the right way for you.
Hey Skyler, I'm making a similar jig as we speak. The only difference is I want mine to serve 2 purposes. First, I made the box around my table fence and then attached a vertical piece to it on the blade side to use when making rabbets, grooves, tenons, dados, etc on smaller pieces of end or edge grain. Second, instead of gluing and screwing the piece with your 45 guide boards on it, I want to be able to attach/detach this piece so it's on only when making splines. Does that make sense? It's basically 2 jigs in one. Your method made both as well, except you can't separate the spline part when you need to make a tenon/rabbet so you need an additional jig. Had you not glued/screwed that last piece, any idea on how you could make that removable and maintain the accuracy?
Use threaded inserts?
That's what I'm going to try, I'm working on it today, thx.
R u on instagram yet to sell your wares?
Yes
They're called "mitre keys." A spline is a concealed tongue down the length of the mitre.
And yet, if you Google “spline jig”….
I have heard you mention that you have another RUclips channel. Could you tell me the name of that channel? Thanks
