Emily currently performs, teaches, and lectures as often as she can. Hailed by Gramophone for her "shining" voice "with extra depth to the sound" soprano Emily Workman sang the role of The Governess in Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw at the Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, Poland. A recording of the premiere was released in 2015 under the DUX label and was nominated as, "Best Opera Album of 2016," by the International Classical Music Awards. Other recent performances include Brahms's Ein Deutsches Requiem with St. George's Choral Society in New York City.
Emily is a graduate of Yale School of Music's prestigious opera program, where she received her Master of Music.
I once had a friend out at 1100 yards setting up steel targets. I was watching through binoculars where he was setting the target but he ended up behind a bush a little. I radio'd him and said, "you need to move upstage right about 5 feet." He responded, "I'm a cowboy, not a thespian! Use normal words man!" HAHA Great video!
Haha! That's funny. You thesbian, you!
This is great and thanks for phsically illustrating it.
thank you this really helped me because my music teacher only went over it once and we only have 50 minutes
Thanks for making this! I has been a great resource while teaching drama class online during Covid.

Hi Emily, don’t know if you did already but could you possibly post a video for memorizing lines for a play. You really do a great job of breaking things down. Thanks 🙏
Great idea! You bet. Might take me some time to put it together, but I will!
Emily Workman you’re awesome 😎 Thank you Emily, whenever you get the chance. I look forward to it!! ⭐️
Do you have advice for voiceover actors? Thanks.
((subbed)) Tysvm for this 💖
When I teach students about stage directions the 'S' isn't included in the abbreviation. i.e. 'UR' is short for upstage right and not 'USR'. Is it different in your country or is it personal preference?
Totally preference!

At least the video is short...;)

Who's here from online school?
Me
I liked it and wanted to post it for my class until the last bit where she was pretending to be drinking. Now I can't post it. Otherwise, very good content.
Oooo such a good point Sara! My mom used to show it to her 6th and 7th graders all the time when she was a teacher but she had control over stopping the video in the class I suppose. Are you looking to put it online for them to watch on their own? I am happy to edit it out if that will help you.
Okay, I just removed that end section. It says it may take a few hours to upload the new version, so the old is what you have for now. Happy to do that for you. I hope your class can learn from it. Stay safe and healthy, my friend. Xx.
Yes, that would be great. Sorry for any inconvenience!
Thank you! I appreciate it so much.
@@saraminton1047 My pleasure! No inconvenience at all. Hope it helps. Stay safe and healthy!
