- Happy 2022! In this video I answer a question regarding my perspective of Computer Science (CS) at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP). I've graduated and am working as a full time software engineer. I can't wait to continue sharing my journey with you!

Hey! can you go over your CS Degree and opinions on the classes you took? There are so many classes to chooooosee! I see class types of Cyber security, AI, Data Science, Software engineering, and game design.. Hope we get a video on this! (trying to transfer at the moment from Mt. Sac)
nice to meet you, I'm currently a sophomore from Diamond Bar High
nice video! i have a question, is it safe around CPP and University Village? because I heard Pomona is very dangerous place and Im very worried about that:(
I got accepted from cpp major in computer science. I’m little curious about your high school gpa when u apply. But still, thank u so much this video is very helpful.
the average is 3.7 GPA for CS
do you have any opinion on living in the residential suites VS. University Village?
Hi Tia, I didn't get the chance to live at the Village. I had friends who did, and they enjoyed how much cheaper it is to live at the Village vs the suites. My parents insisted I live at the suites (2nd year onward because the first year you're at the dorms) because they felt it'd be more safe for me, especially if I had night classes. Both the suites and the Village housing look like apartments. The suites are located right on campus near the BRIC and right next to the dining commons. I found it very convenient.
The Village is about a 10 min walk from where the suites are, but it's as if you're leaving campus because you need to cross a street. There's a shuttle system though.
I think the main differences between living at the Village and living at the suites is cost, convenience, and how you get meals. At the suites, you have a built-in meal plan that you use for the dining commons. At the village, you pay for food out of pocket every time (unless you have a commuter meal plan I believe), but there's a rumor that it'll soon be required to have a meal plan while at the Village -- nevertheless it should still be cheaper overall to live at the village.
Here's some more info!
Village: cppvillage.com/ and looks like they have a RUclips channel: ruclips.net/channel/UCnKq2feOVE4tAogfDs8J9SQ

Residential Suites: You can find some pics here: www.cpp.edu/housing/futureresidents/tours.shtml and here's a video I found just from a quick search. I'm sure there are others: ruclips.net/video/CvJneRn92tw/видео.html
@@teratalks4538 thanks!
I have a question, when you graduated with the cs bachelor degree, is it easy to find a job with a good salary?
I am planning to do MS CS there, how is the program there ?
hey Mohamed! I can get back to you with more info from professors I know. In the meantime, have you checked out the website? www.cpp.edu/sci/computer-science/prospective-graduate-students/index.shtml & www.cpp.edu/sci/computer-science/current-graduate-students/index.shtml

Is it true Tony Diaz is a bad teacher RMP?
I got a B+ from him. I took the class out of curiosity it made me switch from Econ to CS. Intro to java I think. I was literally at the cusp.
are there a lot of group projects?
Hi, I have a question your living in campus housing? is nice or not Because I want to study there?
Thank you
I lived on campus, yes! I was at the old red brick dorms (what they call Traditional Halls) for my first year, which are like the typical college dorms you'd imagine. For my second and 1/2 of my third year, I lived at the suites which are more like apartments - super nice! Both the old dorms and suites have study rooms and washing machines. I didn't get the chance to live at the newest dorms, which are located near the suites but I visited because I worked for Housing as a student. Those are beautiful!
There's a lot more detail about the floor plans here: www.cpp.edu/housing/futureresidents/floorplans.shtml
