My favorite part of the Sandlot movie was when they chewed some tobacco, then rode on this ride, then they all got dizzy and puked while the song Tequila was playing. That's my favorite part of The Sandlot.
My favorite is from 42 when Jackie Robinson got harassed by some of the players and when they threw him a pitch he hit a homerun. Also in Angels In The Outfield where one of the angels shows up and the boy waves his arms as the signal that the angels were there and the crowd at the stadium start to wave their arms like angel wings.
I quite agree all the way. The Sandlot is the best baseball, family, and coming of age movies of all time. My beloved Aunt Jackie (God rest her soul) was the one who got me hooked on it. She always used to call it The Beast on account of the big dog. The Sandlot gets better every time I watch it. "You're Killing me Smalls!" But the sequels, they're mediocre at best.
It doesn't say the baseball movie had to be serious. It just said best baseball scene, considering the list had about 9 serious entries they could have at least had 2 funny ones.
You REALLY missed it in designating the "Wild Thing" song as the most memorable snippet from the movie Major League. That moment just HAD to be Bob Ueker's famous call, "JUUUUUUST a bit outside!"
I think the list is great. I guessed #1 - it is far & away the best scene & continues to give me goosebumps, to this day, no matter how many times I watch it. It's also the best film of the bunch: easily the most depth & is the best-filmed. However, the best on-field scene from Bull Durham is right after the mound visit where Meat argues with Crash. Crash then goes back to the dish & tells the batter that the fastball is coming, and the batter then subsequently hits a dinger. Then Crash revisits the mound, telling Nuke what he did. After that, Nuke then nods in agreement w/ every sign Crash throws down, striking out batter after batter. It is a MUCH better scene than the one you have listed.
To me the ultimate baseball scene was in the movie "The Babe" when Ruth hits three homeruns one afternoon against the Pittsburgh Pirates as a Boston Brave. The last homer completely cleared the grandstand as nobody had ever done that , but Ruth did showing his awesome power in one of his very last games of his career.
Pride of the Yankees is my favorite baseball movie of all time I grew up watching it and it’s why Lou Gehrig is one of my favorite ball players of all time it’s a very underrated movie it’s great from start to finish Gary cooper did a great job as Lou Gehrig
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It’s been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again. "-Terrance Mann
Agree Sandlot should be #1! This is exactly how kids were growing up who loved and played baseball. -- But Tom Hanks losing his sh*t with "there's no crying in baseball" and that poor girl balling, that's just classic too.
Another great one is the Math Scene from Little Big League. I would have ranked the Sandlot one a little higher but so many of these are total classics.
If I could, I'd have all top 10 moments be from The Natural. But since apparently I can only select one moment per film…… 1) The Natural - Roy Hobb's walk-off2) Field Of Dreams - Terence Mann's speech3) A League Of Their Own - "There's no crying in baseball!"4) Bull Durham - Mound meeting5) The Sandlot - "You play ball like a GIRL!"6) Major League - "Juuuuuust a bit outside."7) Moneyball - Scott Hatteberg's walk-off 8) The Pride Of The Yankees - Lou Gehrig Day9) Rookie Of The Year - Henry Rowengartner batting/running the bases10) Ferris Bueller's Day Off - "Hey, batter batter!"
Even though this was a very well done list, they forget the movie, "61" which is about Mickey Mantle portrayed by Thomas Jane. It was an outstanding film

Home Run, Eight Men Out, Field Of Dreams, The Sandlot, A League Of Their Own, The Rookie, The Babe, 42, The Rookie Of The Year, Major League, Bull Durham, The Fan, And The Major Big League are the best baseball movies ever
In a weird sort of a way I always loved Rhubarb when the cat who was kidnapped by gamblers escapes and pops up over the fence in the outfield to a roar of the crowd.
Oh come now. You left me hanging all the way until the end for Angels in the Outfield. And I'd put The Rookie in too while you're at it. Maybe the speed reader.
Missing the 4 most amazing movies: 1) The Babe 1992 (Babe Ruth) 2) eight men out (story of the black sox) 3) Bang the drums slowly 4) 42 Way far better than more of those movies.
Babe Ruth's Final Homerun in 'The Babe' should have been on this list. From the part where they are helping him round the bases to his dirty footprint on home that is swept off, that scene had me crying like a little girl.
The last one is a good scene but historically incorrect. The first baseball stadium to have lights was was crosley field in the 1960s. And the batter did not have a helmet (made in 1920s but became mandatory in 1959).
Best scene from any Bad News Bears movie had to be from their 2nd movie "The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training" when they got the fans in the Astrodome chanting "Let them play! Let them play!"
are you crazy????? have you even seen the natural??? its not even close. the homerun, the fireworks, the emotion, the music, just to name a few things that make it number 1.
Can't believe Hardball was omitted from this. The part when the team sang Big Poppa changed the way I played Little League
Hardball, angels in the outfield, and my favorite besides sandlot, MICKY was the greatest baseball movie !
Seen Sandlot twice and I disagree with this list. Why is it ranked 9th? Should be 2nd or 1st.
Juka Baez ikr
Juka Baez right you are
It should be 1st
Bc no one is better than the sandlot
Sandlot should of been 1
You guys should have had your killing me smalls
+SMALZ productions LOL yea they should have
Agreed
not a baseball scene
@@zachnewsom4071are you stupid
The Sandlot is one of the best movies of all time
That is a true fact
Im surprised the scene where Benny outruns the beast isn't on here
I agree..... I thought it should be higher on the list but I didn’t think about the other movies. It will always be my favourite sports movie
Agree
You're killing me smalls
My favorite part of the Sandlot movie was when they chewed some tobacco, then rode on this ride, then they all got dizzy and puked while the song Tequila was playing. That's my favorite part of The Sandlot.
"You play ball like a girl" was not the best scene in that movie full of iconic scenes.
Nope! Hated that scene. Gross. I think I overwatched “The Sandlot” because I don’t ever really need to see the movie ever again as an adult.
Sandlot was only number nine FOH THAT IS THE GREATEST BASEBALL MOVIE EVER MADE, IT CAPTURES THE TRUE SPIRIT OF BASEBALL THAT KIDS GREW UP LOVING
As far as friendship concerned yes...But I like The Bad News Bears better.
@@mikejunior211 major League
well technically its best scenes not best movies
At first, I was upset when Field of Dreams came in only second... Then when The Natural was #1, I was happy. Great pick. Great list.
My favorite is from 42 when Jackie Robinson got harassed by some of the players and when they threw him a pitch he hit a homerun. Also in Angels In The Outfield where one of the angels shows up and the boy waves his arms as the signal that the angels were there and the crowd at the stadium start to wave their arms like angel wings.
sportsygirl8 not a quote but I know what u mean
Top 10 Baseball moments in history! Do it!
You could fill this entire list with moments from The Sandlot. It's a freaking classic!
Nothing from Angels in the Outfield???
the field of dreams scene should've been number 1. everyone crys at that part. that's the most iconic scene in baseball movies
That Hatterberg home run gives me chills every time.
field of dreams is not just one of the best baseball films ever made, it IS the BEST baseball movie ever made!
Cmon, sandlot is the best movie ever, especially in the baseball category. Shoulda been #1
Best movie ever!!
Ikr
I quite agree all the way. The Sandlot is the best baseball, family, and coming of age movies of all time. My beloved Aunt Jackie (God rest her soul) was the one who got me hooked on it. Bad News Bears!!!
Broseph8T7 maybe for a 7 year old
What about Benchwarmers
+Buchanaman That movie was a dumpster fire. It didn't even come close to getting an honorable mention.,
I thought bench warmers was a good film
Benchwarmers deserved to at least be an honourable mention, if not on the actual list
+Dynamik benchwarmers is a funny comic movie not a serious one
It doesn't say the baseball movie had to be serious. It just said best baseball scene, considering the list had about 9 serious entries they could have at least had 2 funny ones.
What about "Your Killing Me Smalls!" ?
not a baseball scene
Um WHERE IS ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD
***** rude
+Jamie Caldwell I know right?! I'm in shock that it didn't make the list at all. Great movie, I haven't seen it in about 20 years.
+sportsygirl8 Its an ok movie but it doesn't really have much great scenes
Jamie, That's A GREAT Question! I LOVE That Movie!!
Great movie
Bloody hell, even just seeing that Field of Dreams clip choked me up
You REALLY missed it in designating the "Wild Thing" song as the most memorable snippet from the movie Major League. That moment just HAD to be Bob Ueker's famous call, "JUUUUUUST a bit outside!"
Wanna' have a catch? is absolutely the greatest baseball-related scene ever!!!
Roy Hobbs final hit in The Natural. That's a great scene, gives me goosebumps.
Not as emotional as field of dreams though
kind of ironic, one of the better Mojo's I've ever seen.
"THERE'S NO CRYING! THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!"
my other favorite is after he hits Stilwell with the glove
"HAHAHA! GOT HIM!!"
The sandlot is one of the greatest movies of all time. Ever since I watched that movie Ive loved baseball
Absolutely a perfect list. Could have swapped no1 & no2 and it still wouldn't matter. Mojo killed it again.
Kevin Costner sure does love baseball. Also, if the Cubs win, then the #1 moment on the top ten should have been the prediction from BTTF2.
The Cubs have not won since 1908 pigs will fly before the Cubs win...
This list really knocked out the park.
Pride of the Yankees is my favorite baseball movie of all time I grew up watching it and it’s why Lou Gehrig is one of my favorite ball players of all time it’s a very underrated movie it’s great from start to finish Gary cooper did a great job as Lou Gehrig
YOURE KILLING ME MISS MOJO! THE SANDLOT, 9?! ITS NUMBER ONE!!
WILD THANG, U MAKE MY HEART SANG!!!!
Where was the stadium of angels from Angels in the Outfield?! I always felt that scene was more iconic than the one from Rookie of the Year
I was going to post this (Where is the Angels in the Outfield), it was a great movie. That scene was Iconic to me as well.
42 is an amazing baseball movie. I wish it would have been featured in this video
In my Top ten regular season baseball games I would have liked to have attended Lou Gehrig's speech is on that list.
What about the "Kid Sees an Angel" part in Angels in The Outfield?
Good list, had #1 in my head as soon as I saw the video title.
Field of Dreams should be no.1 one. One of the best scenes in cinema. Hey, Dad want to have a catch. Love it!
Everyone is saying watchmojo is runnin out of ideas, but I think that there just getting more creative ideas. Nice top ten WatchMojo
No moments from 42? Wow 😳 I mean I agree with some of these but 42 had moments worthy of being on the list
no angels in the outfield?
the scene in Angels in the Outfield when everyone in the stand in flapping their arm to support the pitcher in the pennant game
Do top 10 youtubers that quit out of the blue!
Moneyball is my favorite, a true masterpiece.
"You're a good egg, Pete".
Agree Sandlot should be #1! This is exactly how kids were growing up who loved and played baseball. -- But Tom Hanks losing his sh*t with "there's no crying in baseball" and that poor girl balling, that's just classic too.
sandlot should be number one
No "Who's On First?" HAHA!
This is your list??
You're Killing Me Smalls !!
either the dream sequence or the jumping the fence to confront the beast sequence from the sandlot should be #1 on this list
Another great one is the Math Scene from Little Big League. I would have ranked the Sandlot one a little higher but so many of these are total classics.
No Angels in the Outfield???????
Jimmy Dugan- “There’s no crying in baseball!”
Wilmer Flores- “Hold my drink.”
If I could, I'd have all top 10 moments be from The Natural. But since apparently I can only select one moment per film……

I love the baseball movies
I'm surprised the scene in The Rookie pitching to the highway speed detector wasn't in there. That's pretty iconic.
Even though this was a very well done list, they forget the movie, "61" which is about Mickey Mantle portrayed by Thomas Jane. It was an outstanding film

The best movies of all time 1. The sandlot 2. A legue of their own and I disagree with the sandlot being the 9th
Bull Durham, Sandlot, A League of Their Own...
Home Run, Eight Men Out, Field Of Dreams, The Sandlot, A League Of Their Own, The Rookie, The Babe, 42, The Rookie Of The Year, Major League, Bull Durham, The Fan, And The Major Big League are the best baseball movies ever
you didn't even put 'just a bit outside' as an honorable mention? Come on man
That's from a non baseball movie called The Naked Gun if your wondering.
"Just a bit outside" is from major league and naked gun was on here anyway
moneyball is my most favorite baseball film of all time that doesnt make me cry.
After this I had to go back and watch my old favorites baseball movies. They were The Sandlot and Rookie of the year.
No mention of the final scene of Angels in the Outfield?
One of my many favorite baseball movies is Summer Catch
As a baseball movie fan, I must tell you watchmojo, we don't speak of any of the Major League movies outside of the first one.
Talldude1980 bro, baseball was my childhood
I'm so glad to see Rookie of the Year acknowledged!
So many great moments.
I still get chills when I see the Hatteberg home run
What is this, James Earl Jones speech made me cry, and it’s barley mentioned, at least make it honorable mentions
7:40 as of 2017 the Indians now hold the record in the American League
22 game winning streak
You missed the best Part of that scene In the natural though!.
"You alright fella?"
"Let's play ball!"
In a weird sort of a way I always loved Rhubarb when the cat who was kidnapped by gamblers escapes and pops up over the fence in the outfield to a roar of the crowd.
What about angels in the outfield? that scene where the whole stadium stands and does the signal...great time great times!!
42, Rookie common WatchMojo you missed such a great films...
thank you for choosing the Natural
Oh come now. You left me hanging all the way until the end for Angels in the Outfield.
And I'd put The Rookie in too while you're at it. Maybe the speed reader.
The Wild Thing moment from Major League was awesome, but the ensuing strikeout was even better.
Missing the 4 most amazing movies:
1) The Babe 1992 (Babe Ruth)
2) eight men out (story of the black sox)
3) Bang the drums slowly
4) 42
Way far better than more of those movies.
"it's not so often that a baseball player gets a whole film dedicated to them" LMFAO WHAT WORLD DO YOU LIVE IN
Babe Ruth's Final Homerun in 'The Babe' should have been on this list. From the part where they are helping him round the bases to his dirty footprint on home that is swept off, that scene had me crying like a little girl.
I love how people actually think people talk about baseball during mound visits
The moment when the crowd in Anaheim does the signal that there is an angel for Mel Clark in Angels in the Outfield better be number 1.
You can quibble with the order, but this top 10 is solid. Maybe "Say it ain't so, Joe" from Eight Men Out cracks the lineup somewhere.
''For love of the Game'' One of the best movies ever :D
The last one is a good scene but historically incorrect. The first baseball stadium to have lights was was crosley field in the 1960s. And the batter did not have a helmet (made in 1920s but became mandatory in 1959).
uploaded this video right after The Cardinals lost, makes me feel much better
What about the perfect game
good video I loved baseball
3:07 when my mom takes away my phone
Must be post football, near spring, lots of baseball movies on cable, sort of a ritual for winter blues!!
The Sandlot is a total masterpiece, should be 1 or 2
No Angels in the Outfield? Bummer.
Best scene from any Bad News Bears movie had to be from their 2nd movie "The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training" when they got the fans in the Astrodome chanting "Let them play! Let them play!"
9: The Sandlot- 9!? Uh, hello! It should be #1, especially when Benny's in there man 😍😍😅
