I've had that exact same snow blower for 8 years or so & it's still running strong. I absolutely Love the electric start & it saves evergy on your body with that 1st cold start of winter. It has freed my driveway, walkway & sidewalk from snow with our bad Detroit winters. It's also good exercise for me, considering I'm over 52 years old to the point I snow blow many of my neighbors snow as well. I stopped doing one particular neighbor snow bc she had a vinyl water hose buried in the snow in her driveway & you know what happened when I went over her driveway 🤷🏽♂️ That hose wrapped around the auger & tore up my snow blower 😠 😡 🤬 Now, this wasn't the 1st time I've done her snow for free, so I was kinda pissed that she didn't even offer to help pay for the repairs or even apologize. Keep in mind, I've done her snow for free for years just bc I wanted the extra exercise & I like being outside in the snow. Most companies charge $30 to $50 to snow blow the driveway, walkway, sidewalk & shovel the porch & my friendly Ass was doing it all for free. Many times, I do 4 to 5 houses & I'm outside for about 2 hours & I don't get cold bc I'm steady moving. I can do all that on 1 tank of gas, so it's very good on gas. When we get that slushy heavy snow, I spray 10-W40 on the auger, back-lift & on the chute & it work wonders so the snow won't clogg it up. All-N-All, you can't go wrong with this snow blower.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much. You guys who put these "how to" vids up are real heroes! I bought my first snow blower last month. Looks like we are going to get about 5" in the next day or two. So, this will be my first time using my Craftsman 21" 208cc single stage snow blower. My dad (who lives 20 mins away) showed me how to start it, but that was a month ago. THANK YOU for reminding me! Its all coming back to me now. I think I got this. Thanks again!!! 😀
MAN I have watched a lot of demos on stuff, but man you are a pleasure to watch your voice is not annoying and you speak well. I bought this unit after seeing this vid, thanks .
LOL!! I was part of that early November storm and now I have a snow thrower! I took that early wake up call as "dude...you like your back? Remember last year?" Not going to be caught this year and neither will my back! Funny thing is that first big snow NOBODY has any snow throwers left to sell! Home Depot, Lowes, etc.. Get yours NOW!!!!

Thanks for the fast reply .We did get about 24 a few yrs back the drifts were almost up to the gutters in that very windy blizzard. We shoveled by hand.on a very long wide drive way.We are in the country no side walks.Like i posted i,ll call a contracter for one that size. I LOVE SNOW. Its exciting and fun to work it.I think also its about attitude
I’ve ALWAYS PREFERRED to shovel the snow as long as I’ve owned either of my homes and I normally find myself doing it at night so don’t really care to make all the noise disturbing my neighbors , but after this last snow I threw my back out while shoveling this last time we had a considerable amount here in Detroit 5 to 6 “so I decided to go out and pick one of these at Lowe’s .. Haven’t been able to use it yet , it’s the beginning of February so hopefully I get a chance b4 season ends , I’m glad this video was here so I got a chance to see how close to the ground it removes the snow looks to be able to do a decent job may update after my experience
Kite Army you really don’t want the cutting edge to really run a crossed the ground it could damage the blower. I did that and found out on here(RUclips) that u don’t want to do that. If u want it close put it on level ground/surface and take 2 cordersand put it on each side of the snowblower but before hand loosen the skid shoes and then set the cutting edge on the 2 corders and that’s the gap you want
Good for the money paid more for our 21 inch ariens without electric start but I feel like the ariens will hold up longer just gotta make sure to run stabilizer and change the oil often
I got the non-electric start $399 dollar version of this snowblower. The oil fill is down at the bottom. did you use the whole 20 oz bottle to fill the engine?
The picture you showed on the left is a three stage i believe. I've still yet to splurge to get one. I currently use a 2 stage which does fine except the ends of driveways where it's a little more wetter.
I love cordless tools and advocate them for the right application. If snow levels are in the 3-4" go cordless. For larger snow quantities for now - gas is the way to go.
I tried both ways and it doesn’t want to start. I purchased it last winter used it maybe twice and it’s been in the garage since. Bad storm here in NorthEast Ohio and I need it 😩😩😩😩 do you have an idea why it won’t start?
Kite Army I did. Tired and tried and nothing. Here comes my daughter and on her first try, did the same thing I did and IT STARTED!!! 😤😤😤😤😤 but thank you for responding.
Great video and thanks for sharing. I'm on the fence if I want to purchase the 123CC or 208CC model, living in KC not sure if its worth buying the extra power. Thanks for you're time.
If you get large amounts of snow (great lakes area), I agree. However, much of the country, including where I live, most of the snow storms are between 4 to 7 inches. Having the larger model will be more hassle than it's worth.
@@Kitearmy I've got an older 16" Toro 2 Cycle that just keeps going. Just looking for something bigger. (21") I'll probably stick with that brand or go with the Honda. Not really interested in the electric options.

Cool - Hope you get 10feet of snow ;)
Love the electric start. Couldn't consider snow blower without it.
It's a nice convenience - seems unnecessary to exert energy into starting the snow blower
Why would you need it its ex to start
Nice Jorb! I like the idea of an electric start but not needing a battery. That's an awesome idea.
Right - no maintenance for the battery
Kite Army does not disappoint! Another fun & informative review. Good job!
BIG thank you - BUT I have to say that my wifie might argue with you :)
I'll stick with my ego 56v for small jobs and my Honda 389cc track drive with heated handles for serious snow
So cool - Sounds like you have yourself covered
Wow
Next the EGO snow blower. I’ve always trusted your opinion. 👍🏼
Thanks Ed - I have heard rumors that EGO is coming out with a new snow blower. Though, I'm not sure when or what time frame
i just need one for my very long driveway that is kind of slanted. would the power in this baby be efficient?
is it a gas and oil mix or straight gas
straight gas
It did a much better job than my old snow blower, so I am thinking it's time to upgrade. Thanks for the great review. ;-)
Snow blowers have come a long way since the 1950s :)
Nice video . In order for the machine to move forward , do you have to slightly lift the front ? Or is it self propelled? Thanks
i had a toro single stage go through a snow pile about 1.5-2 ft high. take your time go slow and u will be just fine.
I like that single stages clean right to the surface
Kite Army that too. But my two stage can do the same I just have to readjust the skid shoes.
@@mattk9907 I never seem to get the 2 stage right down to the surface - could be me

Yeah make sure you take care of those gas engines - make sure you checkout my review of the EGO battery 2 stage! No oil or stabilizer
Thanks for not telling me/us how many hp’s
Great review! Do you know what size tool you used to remove the screws on the chute? Thanks for your time!
I think it was close to a 1/4" socket
Kite Army thanks so much! I bought the same blower and realized I didn’t have a socket that size.
How much oil does this machine take. Mine came without oil and not sure how much to put
I got the non-electric start $399 dollar version of this snowblower. The oil fill is down at the bottom. did you use the whole 20 oz bottle to fill the engine?

the link in the description is to a Powersmart snowblower with a completely different engine on amazon
dang it Amazon

you are correct - The snow at the end of the driveway is always nasty stuff
Great review! I might pick up one of those!
I normally dread the snow - this year I can't wait for it. Bring it mother nature :)
Really wish you would have explained the set up!
right
How much gas does this snowblower hold?
i would guess about 1/2 gallon
very helpful, thank you!
Glad you liked it

The way I look at is go for the extra power it's just a few more buck and it's nice to have if you need
Personally, I would spend an extra couple hundred on a dual or triple stage.
