It's a NuVinci Continuously Variable Transmission(CVT). Notice how, initially, the Red disc is spinning faster than the Blue disc ( 0:02 ). As the person makes the adjustment the Red disc progressively becomes slower as compared to the Blue disc ( 0:28 ).
What is the operating temperature range of this ? Wonder how the fluid , necessary for its operation ( not shown here obviously ) , react to very low sub zero temp .

Why did mine start making a clanking noise? I am fairly gentle with my bike.
i wonder if this can be used on a unicycle....
I had one of these but mine didn't sound like a computer fan about to explode... in fact they are totally silent. Weird.
i think that sound was the electric motor
Can it work in reverse. 🙂
how much torque in could handle? can it use in car or truck?
I SAID.... IT SURE IS QUIET!!!
Just kidding. Ingenious transmission.
Wo genau ist nun die "Erklärung"? Ich sehe jemand, der an einem Hebel dreht, fertig.
about how much torque are these CVTs rated for?
meandmyevo, i got the nuvinci 330 belt driven with mid engine Bosch performanceline CX rated at 75 Nm torque
its designed for bikes... soo not much.
AKAIK nobody has tried it on an e-bike application as of yet.
That sounds like crap, doesn't it ...
This is a scam !!!!!!!!!
